Games decent, actuon gameplay with a solid story. Lacks party functions and takes about 15hours to get into its stride. The game is kinda barren early on. Until right befor the "final act" there is very little to do for side queats typically around 3-6 in-between the major events. Right befor the final act there is a large amount that opens up. I kinda get it from the stories perspective, but thst was their choice. The main character is probably one of SE's best written, however that is at the cost of most of the side characters. It all focuses on Clive. It does not feel "Final fantasy" fans might get that feeling. Overall its a decent game, worth picking up at some point if you like action games, dont pick this game up thinking its an RPG, it is not.

Final Fantasy XVI is a wonderful experience. Everything that you would expect from a Final Fantasy game brought to the modern era. I really recommend it if you have a PS5. It does have some issues though. Firstly the side quests are a little dull for the most part. The ones that stick out are fantastic, but for the most part they are pretty boring fetch quests. While the boss battles are epic, they tend to drag a bit. I swear you’ll spend 15-20 minutes fighting a dude in the middle of the game. Sure it adds to the gravity of the battles, but I personally felt like it was a bit too much. There were some frame rate issues especially when rendering things in the distance. It shouldn’t actually get in the way (it never did for me) but it’s definitely noticeable at times. I would say out of 100, it’s a 92. It does have flaws, but they aren’t major enough to get in the way if you aren’t a completionist or a perfectionist.

Captivating world with lots of action. Good combat similar to DMC and tons of amazing boss fights. Thrilling story and awesome music.

Amazing game! This is my first introduction into the final fantasy series, and I am loving it. The story, combat, voice acting and frame rate are excellent. Haven’t experienced anything negative yet.

Great entry in the FF series. The story is amazing and the gameplay is fun. If I had to complain I'd say the side quests aren't very good, but they're fully skippable so it doesn't matter much.

Exceeded expectations on every front: storyline, playability, music, amazing graphics and cinematics, and more. Basically, everything you can ask for in a Final Fantasy game. Money well spent!

I bought this for my Granddaughter's birthday. Here's her review - Final Fantasy 16 is a very fun game with gameplay and an amazing story. With it being the first action rpg in the series, it is interesting to find out what the series will turn into in the future. The graphics are amazing and the story keeps you in engaged with the many levels and characters. I found the opening of the game did very great setting up the story and our main character, Clive. Overall it's a very nice and polished game and I would recommend it to any rpg or final fantasy fans. I'm so excited to see how this series turns into with it being one of the best and one of my favorite video game series

Absolutely fantastic! The music is unbelievable and the combat is addictive and satisfying! Everything runs smooth and the story is top tier story telling that keeps you hooked the whole journey

This is a great action game, but it's definitely not an RPG anymore. The RPG elements are a joke, but the combat, action and story are all amazing. This is a Final Fantasy game in name only.

Great game even if you are new to the final fantasy series. Has a similar gameplay to DMC, the story is entertaining. Only flaw with it is that its not as difficult as I would like.

This game is awesome! Killer graphics, storyline, and action! I love how the fighting and eikons are included together and give you a more epic version of fighting!

The story and voice acting is amazing. Maybe the best FF protagonist and that's saying a lot. The combat is good but gets repetitive on second playthrough. The only thing it is lacking is classic RPG elements. If you set your expectations to it being an action game and not an RPG it's top tier.

This game is simply fantastic. Roughly 30% through the game, but honestly one of the best-starting portions of any game that I have played. I can't wait to turn on my ps5 and play this game. The combat is extremely fun and satisfying and I find myself never dreading a boss fight. The story is easy to follow and interesting. The graphics are simply top-notch, however, the game does get a little choppy here and there, but it is flawless during combat. I have to say this is definitely a must-buy if you are at all interested in RPGs or action games. I would most certainly say that I do not regret spending a single cent on this game.

Story is amazing!! Voice acting is amazing!!! Combat is good, devil may cry feel to it, um but... Kinda takes the whole jrpg feel out of it..4/5 Next FF let's go back to the good ol FF style and open world, (Of it ain't broke don't fix it)

Fantastic visuals, combat is insane . Story is fulfilling and rich. Wonderful time for sure . Buy this game you will not regret. Also the music is just *chefs kiss*

I’m a traditionalist when it comes to my Final Fantasy, so I was skeptical when I heard this game was an action hack/slash and not an RPG. But I picked it up on sale on Black Friday and could not put the controller down! Instantly in my top 5 Final Fantasies, maybe top 3. The graphics blew me away the first time I booted it up. The story is engaging and well done. Very Game of Thrones inspired. And I loved how they wove the final fantasy DNA into this new world. Masterful!

Normal play looks almost as good as the cut scenes. It usually takes me a couple seconds to realize I'm in a cut scene. I prioritize frame rate, so I've never had overheating issues that has been reported by others. Combat is much different than typical FF combat, but you can mostly set ut up to where you can mash attack, and only worry about dodging. The story is great so far, but it is much more mature than any other FF title I've played. It's almost like game of thrones minus the nudity. This is one of the few AAA titles that I think is worth the 70 bucks.

Game has enjoyable gameplay paired with an S tier story. The only letdown are side quests but I believe life is too short for side quests anyways.

This FF is more on the lines of Devil May Cry. Fast pace action. Not your traditional FF. Story is very compelling and the visuals are amazing. Not the best FF I’ve played, but it is very entertaining.
