This was my first fire emblem game (i actually purchased a switch and everything to play it), and I admittedly wasn’t expecting much because I’ve never been a fan of the genre. But I’m so glad I decided to try it! The story is great so far, but I’m particularly taken by the characters! The replayability is also a pretty strong factor for me! Overall I’m super happy with this purchase

First off, just wanted to say I have clocked in about 10 hours on the game since I received it on Friday. Everything you would have wanted from a Fire Emblem game is in here. Romance, subplots, combat, and being a teacher! All of the above. Great game to play on the go and docked onto the television. Recommend it to anyone interested in tactical strategy games as well as RPG mechanics.

Fire Emblem: Three Houses makes the series jump back to home consoles a triumphant one, offering a deep and addictive strategy-RPG with anime-style art design and more control over the development of your units than ever before! If you have any interest, I would seriously consider picking this one up, as you're likely to drop well over a hundred hours into it before you're satisfied.

SPOILER FREE REVIEW I love the Fire Emblem franchise. I couldn't say enough about this game to sell it more than a critic could. Metacritic speaks for itself, and this game is phenomenal. It reminds me of the Persona series in terms of the life simulator, especially Persona 5. However the turn based strategy and the house you choose is really dominate for the story line.

For longtime fans of Fire Emblem (FE), 3 Houses has lots to offer, yet may not be what those players are necessarily wanting in a FE game. However, the differences are not bad, just more akin to Persona with the first half of the Monastery with the school simulation which depending on what one likes, can be enthralling or quite boring. The difficulty even on hard classic, is much less than in previous games. There is much to like in the characters and stories, ss well as the new battle mechanics. For these things, 3 Houses seems more suited for newcomers to FE, but doesn’t fully alienate longtime fans. Definitely check the game out if you have any interest in 3 Houses as there is lots of content to experience in it. The worst part so far is the poor font choice for menus & dialogue.

One of the best fire emblems games I have played since Sacred Sword. The game has unique customization with unique character models. Thew new abilities and the removal of the trinity was a unique approach. Character story and progression improved a lot from past games and you sense a real connection with the people you fight along side. A must have for the switch!

If you like strategy games and Harry Potter this game could be for you. The school and house structure of the game is very reminiscent of Harry Potter and the strategy gameplay is really challenging and enjoyable. For my first Fire Emblem game I thought the story was good and you can experience it in multiple ways by playing with all three houses.

Whew, this game is deep! The amount of stuff to do in this game will keep you playing for hundreds of hours. Battle mechanics are deep while still offering a fun and simple 3D battlefield combat. Highly recommended to anyone who is a fan of jrpgs but is looking for something that offers most of that but with a spin on the traditional combat style.

Never played the strategy style RPG before so the combat was very new to me. Took some time to get used to but once I had the hang of it I loved it. Graphics were good with an occasional hiccup here & there. Sound was great, all conversations were voiced. Loved the story enough that I immediately started a second play through after finishing.

I have been playing FE since the first GBA game released in the USA about 20 years ago. Even though this iteration provides a different look and feel to the past games in the series, it continues the successful aspects of its predicessors (support conversations, grid-based strategy rpg, class promotion, etc). The story is a bit stronger with this game than some of the older ones, but the battles were a little less exciting in my opinion. The graphics were a little of a let down as well. You can definitely tell that either because of deadlines or priorities, some rendering and backgrounds were not as detailed as they could have been. Overall I really enjoyed this game. Would definitely recommend anyone with a Switch to pick it up and give it a try.

This game is much of a tactics RPG along with social avenues to take, personal development, focus can be solely on battles or recruitment/social or a mix between both. I haven’t been able to delve into it as much as I’d like, and definitely makes you second guess yourself (or even save scum the social interactions) but it’s fairly forgiving. Can’t recommend it enough
