I’m a big fan of turn based strategy and I think Three Houses has made me an FE fan finally. There is little handholding but not impossible to learn. They have also adopted some of the exploring/relationship/time management aspects of Persona 5 which can seem overwhelming at first, but it quickly makes sense and you get into a pattern after a few days.
