Loved the simple installation, the fact that it was wireless and that the batteries only need to be replaced about once a year. It worked out great and integrated into our ring connected home alarm system.

Good priced dual action detector. Only reason I gave 4 stars was one of the three I bought had to be returned. Every 3-4 days the dead battery chirp would go off, usually in the middle of night despite always fresh batteries. Replaced and so far, after 3 weeks all good. Very pleased over all and would recommend- easy install, nice and loud and does the job.

Easy to install, and seamlessly integrates with the Ring Alarm System. Able to monitor from within the Ring app at any time. With both Smoke and Carbon Monoxide detection, this would be a wonderful addition to a home network.

I have a dozen of these in my house and garage. Easy to use, connects easily to my Smartthings App and easy to maintain with 2xAA batteries instead of 9v.

Seems to be a great product. Was easy to install and set up. Love that you can track the battery life on the Ring app. Not giving 5 stars because they haven't gone off yet (due to smoke), so I really can't gauge how well they work, but assuming they are just as good as my old ones.

Im writing this review based on how easy it was to connect to Ring. It basically took a couple minutes to get it paired. Only 'problem' I ran in to was determining the generation...either 1 or 2. You needed to choose that when setting up in ring. Problem was, it didn't say anywhere on the box or unit what generation it was. I called first alert and was told if it had the scan box on the back it was second generation. Once I got that taken care of only took a couple seconds to complete the pairing. I bought two...hopefully they never go off...but nice to have them running through Ring...just in case. AND the purchase is a no brainer when comparing the cost of this versus the nest unit.

I had a plug in CO detector that chirped an expired signal and decided to replace a ceiling mounted, hard wired-battery First Alert smoke detector with this combination unit. The old mounting base fit perfectly so Installation was easy. Test signal was good. I did not have a Ring device to connect to. So, without a fire or CO issue, I hope it works.

Love the integration with my smart home. Being able to check the battery level any time is added piece of mind. Plus it closts 25% of what NEST and others charge.

I'm quite happy with these alarms. I've not had a fire or CO issue so I can't really tell if they work in that regard, but I very much like that they work with the Ring alarm system. One benefit folks may not realize is that you can check through ring app to see which alarm has low battery levels - easir than checking each one individualy and IMO better than just changing batteries 2x a year 'just in case'.
I also like that they use AA batteries instead of 9v.
About the only thing I don't like is that they show up twice in Ring (once for Smoke, once for CO), but I suppose that isn't such a bad thing once you are used to it.

Excellent alarm and integration with Ring was easy. We didn't think we'd ever use the Ring feature but when my wife was baking the other day, we had something unfortunately burn and the Ring alarm alerted us immediately. Ring even called us to make sure everything was ok. Excellent system, highly recommend!

Connecting the alarm via the Ring app was simple. If you have shared users, you can only connect the device using the primary user's account.
Connect the detector via the app before you install on the ceiling or wall. For me, there was no need to drill holes to install since the base of old was same as base for this one. These are wireless detectors so no need to “wire” them. I tested the detectors and they sounded off as they should.
I replaced all detectors in home with these. The primary user will be able to see all detectors listed so if you have more than one listed, you will need to name them so you would know which one is which. You can assign a location (living room, master bedroom, etc.) and name for each detector.
I have not had any of them to sound off yet. It is supposed to be "smart" enough to detect "normal" smoke from cooking. I have yet to verify that.
There are varies types, some be mindful of which one you are getting. Not all types with Ring. Additionally, the detectors are not interconnected. If one rings, you will not here an announcement of which one is sounding off. However, you should be able to determine which one via the ring app/notification.
These detectors do run by batteries, so you need to be mindful of that. You should be able to see the battery efficiency in the Ring app.
They are reasonable priced. They may be a bit cheaper on Amazon. Best Buy is supposed to price match. I tried that but since the “model number” was not the same, my store would not honor it. I did purchase one from Best Buy.
I would commend to others as it adds another level of home safety.
