After installing the new device, I like its minimalist design. Hope it is a stable one because my previous First Alert non-intelligent smoke detector has "false alarm" frequently.

Good Replacement for my Nest Protect

I was even able to use the Nest Protect bracket to install the First Alert detector. It also works seamlessly with the Google Home App.

It is slightly worse than the protect in every way. Worse speakers, no path light, worse app integration and honestly a little bit uglier. Again it works fine but is a bit if a letdown as far as a google sanctioned replacement for the nest protect.

The problem I have is that one of them (the one near by bedroom) keeps going offline. I get an alert about this. I can either get on a ladder and press the button until it gets back online or wait a day while it resolves itself. This happens 1-2x/week and reduces the whole point of them being wired together. If I could stop this from happening, I'd give it a much higher rating.
