The watch is also appreciated for its water resistance, included features, and messaging capabilities. However, some customers have expressed concerns about the watch's battery life and connectivity. Buying abother for my youngest, no social media!!

I am honestly the happiest father along with my wife on how great these Fitbit Ace are, evwrything we needed and no access to social media! We wanted to let our 11 year old have a tad more freedom simce we live in a smallish town and she loves bike rides and the 3 parks we have but only can go of we went. Now, we let her go meet up with friends and can watch her and even talk to her the whole way there. This has made her feel so much more responsible and more like a kid should, she unfortunately has a dad with PTSD and I have always been afraid to let her be more free. Enter the Fitbit Ace into our home for a trial run and we are now going to make it a permanent choice for her and buying another for my 10 year old. I .in absolute love with how fast the tracking updates happen and how clear the phone calls are. Sognal is NEVER a problem with this, my older daughters iphone on a different service loses signal at the parks, but the Ace does not, win win for us! The texting amd calling areomited to 20 people and must be done through the Fitbit Ace app. This is the only negative I can see. We would love to have it be able to text or call and setup allowed phone numbers to do so without the app, it wasnt easy explaining to her grandpa he needed to use the app. The movement tracker is awesome as well, seeing her activities being tracked so we know she is not being a lazy bean all summer while out of school and actually running around with friends. The step tracker gives her a goal as well, she for 2 weeks has made sure to hit 10k steps every single day. Google is also adding Google Payments through it in the future, which I can not wait for that, I hate letting her go to the store with cash at her age anymore, too many chances for her to lose it, I know I did as a kid. So far, the Fitbit Ace is awesome and we love the service, just hoping at some point you do not need the app, just permissions for allowed numbers.

The watch is used by my daughter who’s out more and more but not yet needing a phone. It’s hard to find something she’ll wear and also something easy to setup and control how to use it. So far the Fitbit ace fits the bill as a great option for parents with kids that don’t yet need a phone. The setup itself was very easy, just plug it in and turn it on, then download the app. You’ll need a google account to sign in and then create a kids profile. The connection to the watch is easy too, you’ll just enter a code and get it paired. It was a little odd as after setup it looked like it was ready to go, but it was doing an update so was a little stuck, though after I waited a few min it said it got an update and everything worked great. You can then set up the contact your child is able to call or text with. So far it was just my wife and I, and when making the call, it comes in just like a phone call but through the app. The messages are also in the app. This seems to work OK since we both have it to see where she is, but if you had someone not in the family not sure how it works. It’s nice as we can see her location as she is around and easily communicating with her. It also lets her have a watch and there are a few games she can play. So far, we’re enjoying it.

My son loved the watch, it motivates him to be active, I liked that it is balanced and not addictive, the only thing I didn't like is that to stay in touch it has to be through the fit bit app, anyone who wants to add him to their contacts needs to download the app and register.

I purchased this for my 5-year-old daughter. Overall, it's a nice purchase. But for the annual subscription that you have to pay, I wish that you got more out of the device. Battery life is not a full day and there is no sleep tracking. It's a very basic tracker and is mostly useful for GPS and calling/message your children. I understand that there will always have to be a subscription because of the selling point of this device, but I feel like outside of having cellular capability, it isn't offering much compared to other Fitbit devices. I do like that in order for someone to communicate with your children, YOU have to approve them through the app (more safe vs having a connected watch that accepts calls/messages from anyone). I also like that your kids can connect to friends.

We’ve had this watch for our kiddo just over half a year now. It’s been great for all features except when it comes to the game mode the watch can slow down and crash often. Otherwise the GPS, calling, and texting feature are great and extremely safe/ secure. We chose this specifically as we can pick who they communicate with and do not have access to the internet of the capabilities to “buy” anything in an App Store. We also utilize the school feature so they can wear it daily. You pay less a year for the service than a cell phone as well at $10 a month. Would buy again!

Exactly what we were looking for. Easy to use, set parental controls and gives us a piece of mind with our children. Definitely for the those that aren’t old enough for a phone but can benefit from what this product has to offer.

Hey there, HirdeshS. We’re happy you’re enjoying the build quality and some features on the Ace LTE. That said, we hear your concerns regarding locating the device and the Ace Pass subscription. What prevents the device from showing your child's location are the following:

      1. Their watch is powered off.
      2. Their watch has low or no GPS signal.
      3. Their watch isn't connected to the internet.
      4. Their watch has been off wrist for an extended period.

      Regarding the Ace Pass:
The Ace Pass provides LTE calling, messaging, location sharing, and Fitbit Arcade games on a child's device, removing the necessity for a separate phone plan. Activation and all features require an Ace Pass data plan.

LTE coverage issue seems to have been resolved. A good means of communication, but the screen is too easily damaged. There should be more stabile alternatives available to protect it… something like the bands that are attached and held in place by each side of the connected watch band

I really like this watch for my 9 year old daughter, and she loves it. The calls sounds great and the messaging app is also good. I wish it had a feature of calling/messaging another kid who has the same watch, With parental permission of course. You can not do that. It only goes to the parents ace app. To me the plan is pretty good at only $10 a month when paying for the year. It does need to be charged about once a day but also charges up pretty fast. Would definitely recommend this watch for young kids.

This is exactly what we needed for sending our 8 year old across the country to be with his uncle for a week, it gave us some peace of mind while helping him feel independent. Calls and texts work fantastic, it uses its own app which is just fine and more secure, but location ping also shows on maps for me. Location updates within seconds and is extremely accurate. Price is good and he loves wearing it. We disabled all games.

Our daughter loves it, we got it primarily to be able to track her bus ride home from school and while the location updates are bit slower than we'd like it does the job. Mixed opinions on not being able to call like a phone - Ie only can call a 'app' on parents phones, but that's good and bad..

We bought this for our second oldest (6yrs old) since she’s been seeing her older sister with their phone. Since we believe that she wasn’t old enough for a phone yet we chose this route instead. The watch is amazing! Our second oldest enjoys it and truly loves it. Tech: the in app options allow easy use and control. You can even partake in your kid’s challenges/games. The call through app and messaging is easy to use and understand even for my young child. GPS tracking is a nice feature to ensure where your child is as well as the watch alarm locater. Look/feel: My child hates wearing bracelets, bands, or anything that feels constricting around her wrist but she isn’t bothered by the band at all. Use/display: My 6 yr old can easily navigate the display screen and easily read it. The activity tracker keeps her engaged and enjoys the challenges (games). Price: for what it is, it wasn’t too bad in cost even with the annual subscription (allows in app calling and messaging). For some this may be a deterrent, but the annual cost for everything included is t bad at all. Overall: As parents we were skeptical initially since we thought our child may have been too young but they took to it easily and have been able to use it and understand. If anyone of you parents are wondering if or should I purchase this, we say YES. It is the perfect tool and tech.

My 10-year-old loves this watch! It makes movement fun with games and rewards, and I love being able to track their location, message or call them through the app. Setup was easy, and the safety features give me peace of mind. Only downside is the battery—it needs to be charged daily. Still, it’s a great option for kids who aren’t ready for a phone.

The product is fine, not earth shattering but meets the purpose. There are times when my child is trying to reach me by text or call and it does not go thru. But good to have it since there is something until he grows into get a phone.

Child really enjoys having the games, does encourage more activity. Phone calls could be a bit clearer but for a wrist communicator it's more than acceptable. Held up well through a theme park visit but does need a daily charge.
