Fantastic device
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this tracker for my fiancé to replace her Fitbit Charge that she had for a little over a year. The Charge had its perks but was problematic with the band as it fell apart quite often (she went through 3 trackers until she just gave up). Figuring the new design would be a welcome change, she absolutely loves the Fitbit Alta. She has had zero issues so far and is drawn to its simplistic design. Although it would have been even better if it were water resistant at the least, she feels this tracker will do what it was built to do for a long time. The device has a pretty decent battery life and the new charging cable is a pleasant upgrade to the sometimes-annoying connector from the previous versions. The new "Move" alert is pretty cool, ensuring she gets mobile especially since she works in an office setting. As of now, I feel it's rated fairly at 4 stars, but only time will tell if this tracker is worth more or less.

Just as advertised
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My Alta works great. Synchs right up on my phone. The charge lasts for days. The Fitbit app and website are very easy to use and intuitive. The hourly reminder (just a quick vibration ) to get up and move helps tremendously at work. The only slight drawback I have found is that it is hard to read the display in sunlight. But that is to be expected. Otherwise I would recommend the Alta to anyone who needs a little motivation.

Great for tracking
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was hesitant to spend the money at first but I am glad that I did! I personally bout it to keep track of my steps throughout the day for my physical therapy recovery! I had a hip arthroscopy in August and it has really helped with me finding that balance of how many steps are good and how many is too many! After recovery I still plan to use the fit bit daily!

the power to be healthy
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love my new Fitbit Alta. I decided to not get the blaze as the heart monitor stopped working three or four days after I bought it. I had friends that purchase the Alta and were really satisfied with all of the features; the battery holds longer than necessary, which makes it a breeze to take the Alta on a weekend trip if you left your charger at home.

The Alta-mite Fitness Tracker
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I waited for the Alta to come out, and it was worth the wait. The options for your style of exercise, or actual style are endless. Very intuitive, easy setup, it makes it easy to attain your goals, and encourages you along the way. One of the best aspects, is being able to change the band, you can have metal, leather, silicone in about a hundred different colors. This is a quality product, very durable, the charge lasts almost a week, depending on how often you obsess over your steps, and you will. The Alta charges fast, about 20 minutes for a full charge. The Bluetooth capability does not seem to alter battery life on either the Alta or my phone. This Fitbit is amazing, the Alta makes working out fun, and easy for friends to join in with challenges as well.

Amazed @ the awesome Alta
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Upgraded my 12 yr old son to the Alta when his Flex broke due to a defect. He loves it! He even sleeps with it on which is a bonus because I can get a look at how well he slept. Comfortable, durable, good battery life, easy to charge, he can take it on/off himself, the bands are interchangeable & it's loaded with features that make it even better. The display is nice and bright but won't blind you, the silent alarm wakes you up gradually, call/text message alters, and he was super pleased that it gave him a watch with the date and time also. Fitbit knows their stuff! I'm very pleased with their products. With my son and I both having a Fitbit we can challenge each other and motivate each other to get moving together.

Great For Keeping Active
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Out of all the fitbits out, this one is my favorite. It is not too big or too small, it is the perfect size which makes it really easy to wear with any outfit. In terms of exercise, it makes it more fun. You can see your steps, compete against friends, and keep your goals on track. It shows you how much your sleeping even if you moved around a lot during your sleep. You can see who is calling and can even read your text messages through the fitbit screen. I absolutely love it! It charges quickly and lasts for days. You can charge while your in the shower so that you don't miss any possible steps while competing. Nothing ruins my day more than not wearing my fitbit!

Great all-around fitness tracker
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. To set the stage, I'm not an athlete. I don't need heart rate monitoring, gps, or altitude. I just want something to motivate me to move more. And I found that in the Fitbit Alta. It has a clock function, so I don't need to wear a separate watch (yeah, I'm 'old', I want a watch on my wrist, not have to dig out my phone), which is GREAT! The Alta tracks your steps, minutes of activity, and automatically recognizes certain exercises, such as walking, running, and some others that I haven't tried yet. It also has this great little feature called Move Reminders. You can have it remind you to move a little every hour. It detects when you haven't taken at least 250 steps in one hour, and will remind you at 10 til the hour with these little motivation phrases. If you get up and start moving, it will come back again to congratulate you (again with cute phrases) on hitting your 250 steps. The reminder days/times can be customized so it isn't bugging you a 10pm when you're getting ready for bed. They say the Alta isn't necessarily waterproof, but the manual says it can handle the occasional splashes from whatever you may be doing. Sounds like they just don't advise you immersing it. Water resistance was a must for me. I also like that Fitbit ties in with several nutrition apps, such as My Fitness Pal, to automatically enter in your exercise for the day. So, if you're searching for an 'average persons' fitness tracker, search no further.

It works like a Champ
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.i will spare you the techy stuff and keep it real simple for you. Does it work and function how it should? Yup sure does. You control all the settings off your phone or with the PC. I have it setup on my andriod. You can customize what displays on the screen as far as steps, tim, miles, workout time, and calories burned. First time getting something like this as i always used my phone but this is more accurate for step counting if that's what your going to be doing. I Battery life is great on a full charge it lasted me 4 days. ts nothing fancy like the larger ones and its perfect for someone who just wants to keep track of steps.

Fitbit Alta - They got it right this time
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The FirBit Alta is a sleek, stylish tracker, that integrates will with your mobile devices and FitBit's online service. The Alta tracks steps and sleep automatically. It can also auto-sense activity, though to get additional information (GPS map, distance, etc.) you should initiate activity tracking in your mobile device. It also contains a feature that nags you to get up and move at least 250 steps in every hour during a time period you set. A nice touch is that the Alta has multiple display settings that support showing information of interest in either vertical or horizontal orientations. Additionally, it can show notifications (phone, text, etc.) which I thought might be distracting but has actually quite nice. To be honest, I've taken to wearing this as a replacement for a watch without the complexity/expense of a Smart Watch. This one's a real winner if you ask me. The only down side, the screen seems to scratch/scuff easily so invest in a screen protector before you that the Alta out of the box.

Stylish upgrade from low end flex
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. In an era full of smartwatches with tons of bells and whistles, it's refreshing that FITBIT finally released something that is richer on features without the exorbitant cost of many smartwatches but still keeping to a cleaner /simple design factor. A plus is the ability to swap out bands. Besides the fashion aspect changing bands is great because they often get ooky and I like to really disinfect and deodorize the bands on my wearables periodically. It takes a little longer to sync over the flex. Some complain about lack of a altimeter, but it's not something I miss not want. Really like the new feature that it reminds you to move every hour...

Favorite Tracker To Date
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have tried many different trackers and they all leave something to be desired and didn't last long - including my five regular Fitbits. This time I decided to try the Alta. I love the digital display and all the great information provided on my app. I wish it were waterproof but that really is the only thing I could ask for. It is water resistant enough that I can do dishes with it and I have accidentally worn it into the shower a couple times and not had a problem. I love that I can purchase tons of wrist band options off brand so I can match my outfits.

Awesome Activity Tracker!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Purchased this to replace my last tracker and so far this one is way better. I tried the Garmin Vivofit 2, but was not impressed with the Auto IQ feature that is supposed to track activity automatically. Never worked for me, so got this one instead and it works perfectly. Bike rides, walks, runs are all tracker without any issue. Also does a great job tracking my sleep each night and the battery life has been very good. I get a solid 5+ days between charges and that is with notifications setup from my iPhone and constantly using it to check the time during the day. Highly recommended!!

Loving it
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I originally had a Samsung gear fit to pair with my Samsung phone but once I switched to an iphone it obviously no longer worked with my new phone. I've been hesitant getting this but a friend has it and showed me how it worked. It's similar to the Samsung fit gear. Notification, step tracking, activity tracker, silent alarm. The size is bit on the big side for me but it's fine. It works well tracks everything well. If there's only one thing is how it doesn't have a heart rate monitor. So if you're looking for one of those in this one, you'll have to pick another model.

Great activity tracker
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Fitbit Alta is a great tracker. Originally I had bought charge but the band has broken so Fitbit replaced my band with Alta. Though I miss the step tracker but Alta is a great tracker, better looking and seems to have a better battery.

Accurate and convenient
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My work has a program where if you wear a Fitbit long enough you start to get points that save you money on health insurance. I'd had a Fitbit One a few years ago, but I lost it because I kept it in my pocket, so this time around I wanted one of the wrist models. I quickly settled on the Aria. I have an Apple Watch and wanted to keep them on the same wrist, so I didn't get the more watch-like model. And I wanted the display face so I could just look at how many steps I'd gone, rather than having to look at my phone. The Aria looks good next to my watch. Both are all-black, so compliment each other well... One's wide, one's narrow. The features I like about the Aria: * The display turns on when you turn your wrist to look at it. * There are about six displays... Steps, calories, time, etc. * You can cycle through them with a tap, and set in which order (and which shows up when you first turn your wrist –– default is the time, but I have Steps show up) * LONG battery life –– about a week. * When the battery's getting low, the remaining-life display becomes the default until it's recharged. * Bands come in an assortment of about five colors, that are pretty typical for sport watches. * The band is comfortable. * It "celebrates" with a buzz and a little "fireworks show" when you reach your step goal for the day. * The iPhone app interface for it is easy to use. Things I don't love about the Aria: * The band uses pin-and-hole. There are two pins. It's comfortable once closed, but it's harder than I'd like to close it. Of course, if it were easier, it'd be more likely to fall off; I will admit, I have NO concern about it falling off. * The charger is USB, of course, which is as it should be, but it feels flimsy and has only a five-inch cord. I guess I'm used to iPhone charger cords, but I'd have liked it to be two or three feet long. * This model does not count staircases "because there wasn't enough room for the altimeter." I think they could have found a way, even if the body had to be a little bigger. * While you can cycle through the displays "with a tap," it often takes two or three before it gets the idea. * The display washes out in even low sunlight, but is reliably visible indoors. All in all I'm happy with the product and I'm glad I bought it. It looks good on my wrist and is comfortable and it's cool to be able to look down and instantly see how many steps I've taken. It does motivate me to exercise more, which was the point. :-)

All I need in a fitbit
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The fitbit alta is perfect for me to track my steps each day. I love that it keeps the minutes for my active walking I do after work. I also like that the app is so easy to use and tracks everything I need to know. Very affordable!

Nice Little Tracker.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This was step up from a Zip. Really like it so far. Keeps me motivated and walking. Would recommend as a good stater tracker. Biggest problem is the strap which is a pain too close. But it tracks well in a pocket also.

Love it!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I previously have had the Fitbit Charge but hated the ugly black band and that I couldn't customize the band. It looked more like a sports watch. I love the sleek design of the Alta and the many choices in bands. It seems pretty accurate and I love that it recognizes my exercise a lot better than the Charge did. It does not show flights of stairs climbed, but I don't really care about that. The teal color is very pretty and so far the band does not seem to be getting dirty or falling apart. It also stays on very well. Highly recommend

Excellent tracker
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I started with the Fitbit Zip then upgraded to the Flex and now the Alta. I'm in love with it. I feel it accurately tracks my steps. The battery life is good (I don't use it while I sleep). I love that its also a watch and it shows me texts I recwived, calendar events and alerts me of incoming calls. My favorite feature is the 10 minutes before the hour reminder to walk alert, it sends you fun messages to keep you going. I also purchased the leather band in "blush" for when I go out and I love it. Highly recommend it.
