An Excellent upgrade from my previous Flex
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have been a Fit bit user for almost two years now. My Flex was lost on a trip recently and so I purchased a new Alta and love it even more. The screen which notifies me of texts and phones calls (helpful when my phone isn't close by) comes in handy. It's comfortable and durable and I like the battery longevity. Most important to me, I didn't lose my history from my Flex and so I have that to review alongside the new data from my Alta. I would recommend this product to all.

Great value for all the features included
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Love the features of the Fitbit especially that it buzzes when you get a phone call and tells you who is calling. I like looking at all the data collected on my phone app. Very interesting to see how often you wake in mid sleep. The wrapping has come off though so I do need to return it and get a new one. I always buy the guarantee because I am hard on my belongings and I have used the waranty. I have had a Fitbit for probably 10 years though so I highly recommend them.

Does exactly what I wanted
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got this unit specifically to track my steps so that I can determine how sedentary I am on any given day and to provide reminders to get up and move around if I stayed seated too long. It has done exactly that and looked good doing it. The battery lasts a long time between charges. I was torn between getting the model with the heart rate monitor and this one, but I haven't really thought about the HR issue until just now, so I guess I didn't go wrong by getting this one.

Great tracker for price plus features
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Alta activity tracker is a good value priced tracker that combines features, appearance, and app support. The battery last several days. The app and the ability to do challenges with family/friends is quite good. It is also nice and slim in appearance for those who do not want a large band. We liked it so much that we ended up buying another for my mother-in-law, Our family has the flex and the charge 2 as well so we have a basis for comparison.

Excellent motivator
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is my first exercise gadget and it’s working! My family and I can have a little friendly competition to see who completes the most steps. But I’ve found that I’m much more competitive against myself, trying to beat step count or miles or how many days of the week I engage in at least 15 minutes of exercise at a time. I LOVE the hourly prompt that reminds me to get up 10 min before the end of the hour if I haven’t completed 250 steps that hour. I have a desk job and can get very task focused so the reminder forces me to stop working for a couple of minutes and move. I also love the positive reinforcement when I’ve reached my goal. You have the ability to set your own targets but you’re strongly motivated to increase them in order to beat them. For someone who’s very active it may not be as helpful but for anyone looking for motivation to start a healthy lifestyle I highly recommend. I have the Alta without the HR. My mother likes being able to see her heart rate but I’m satisfied without it. I can tell when my heart rate is elevated and that’s sufficient for me. The HR model does provide more details about your sleep pattern but this one provides sufficient info for me. It’s unobtrusive on the wrist and comfortable. It also has a subtle vibration alarm if you want to set it. I also LOVE that I can receive texts and notification of a phone call (you can turn that off if the long text conversations start to bug you. It can get a little annoying to feel the constant vibration on your wrist lol.) Battery life is excellent and lasts pretty much the whole week.

Lovely nice/slim profile option
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have owned a Fitbit Surge (wayyy too big), Fitbit Charge HR (totally solid, still a little bigger than I'd like, and currently being lent to my sister to get her hooked) before my purchase of the Alta. I knew when I first saw them advertised that I'd want one based upon looks alone. It is very important to not e that this little tracker really IS lovely and stylish. To some that WILL matter - especially to those that may not need the HR info (I never used mine), or altimeter. I love the new 250 step reminders per hour (that you can set/customize) - it actually is a great feature that does encourage you to move a bit more. That is really the only new item that isn't on the Surge or Charge HR. As I said there is no GPS option, no bluetooth music control, no altimeter (floor climbing tracker), and no HR monitor. I haven't tested the notifications for texts or calls feature - I tend to keep that off as I have my phone with me most of the time and have no desire to be bombarded OR drain the battery. OH the battery on this thing is AMAZING. Minimum 5 days - sometimes 6-7. It's great. My only real con is that the tap feature can be hit or miss. The quick view, like with the Charge HR can be hit or miss. But, I chalk those up to small annoyances. I'm looking forward to getting another band to switch out when the impulse hits, but as I write this I've only used the teal color. NOTE about the Large size. I used the Large size on the Charge Hr and this Fitbit Alta. It seems to me with the slimmer profile that it is possible I could have used the small size and still been fine. I've only 2 holes showing with the Large after wrapping it all of the way around - so much to spare! I hope that makes sense.

More feminine but lacking features
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is more feminine and stylist than the Charge HR, but I miss the stairs feature and the heartbeat monitoring options that I had with my Charge HR. The battery lasts much longer. I had to exchange this because Best Buy sent the wrong size and color. This fits more true to size than the Charge HR.

Best fitness tracker yet
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Stylish and accurate, many band change options. I asked for Fit Bit Alta as a Birthday present. I've had 3 other Fit Bit trackers, the One, and 2 other HR's. All of them worked great and did what I wanted but, the sleeve for the One ripped over time, and I ended up just throwing it in my pocket; and I don't know if I was getting credit for all my steps and workouts. I really liked my HR's, they told me my heart rate but, unless you are a real fitness buff, that's something you don't necessarily watch. My new Fit Bit Alta, is my favorite. It tells me everything I want, and the new items added are a battery status and a static activity tracker. I like The battery status because with the other Fit Bits, you didn't necessarily know how much power you had left without syncing with your phone or computer. So a lot of times, I ran out of juice in the middle of the day. The static activity tracker will tell you how many minutes you where actively engaged during the day, and not just steps. With the other Fit Bits, you had to log into your account and add extra activities you did during the day to get credit. Now, the best Alta feature of all is the ability to switch bands. I now have other colored bands to match what I'm wearing, and I've purchased a black and a brown leather band for casual wear, and gold and a silver bangle bracelet which allows me to dress my Alta up for business and going out to dinner. Great job with the Fit Bit Alta you guys! I can't rave about it enough and I get all kinds of compliments on my different bands. Thank You.

Decent activity tracker
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My biggest issue with this tracker is the same as I have with most trackers. I am short and it doesn't always seem to register all of my steps. The only reason I know that it doesn't is I have worn 2 or 3 different activity trackers at the same time and they all came up with different numbers. However, I do love it. It has a nice design, easy to change out bands and battery lasts about a week.

Nice upgrade from the Flex
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Just upgraded from the flex and I'm really enjoying the Alta. The interface tells you the time, how many steps you've walked, calories burned, etc. I had a little trouble getting it on the first time, but once you secure it around your wrist, it really stays put. Not bulky at all. The app is also nice and provides info about your sleep patterns, vibrating alarms and other things. Happy with the purchase.

Best Fitbit I've owned!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I owned a Fitbit Surge for a year and a half and really liked all the features. It finally broke on me but with Geek Squad warranty I got an option to get something else. I went with the Alta because it has the watch and is alot slimmer and nicer looking than the Surge. The battery life is fantastic and only thing it doesn't have is the heart rate and GPS which I didn't think were very realiable anyways.

Great Fitbit
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Love the Alta! Since Purchase it keeps me motivated to keep moving. My Flex died and was without a Fitbit for a while. I am very glad I got the Alta. It is the perfect size and it is very fashionable. Battery lasts about 5 days. When I get a phone call, text, or calendar reminder, the Alta vibrates to alert me. My favorite feature is the alarm that can be set to remind you to move!

Love my fitbit
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The large band fits real nice. I hadnt been sleeping well, so i liked that u can track ur sleep patterns. Sometimes i need to restart my cell to get updated info from fitbit. I wish this one had the heart monitor bc i prefer the slender sleek face instead of the square face. Battery life is gr8. I charge while in the shower. Lasts average of 5 days.

Keeps me moving
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It is nice to keep track of daily activity, it has a tendency to make me more aware and keeps me moving on a more regular basis. Not to mention that if you relax too long it will vibrate and give you a message reminding you it's been awhile since you had any activity. I only wish that it was made waterproof for swimming purposes.

Best FitBit yet
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Upgraded from the Flex to this unit, so far very pleased. It fits very well, and the band seems to be attached in a better way that with the Flex. Love the easy charger connection as well, no more prying the tracker out (leading to broken bands). The display is crisp and clear, and very handy for reading incoming text and caller ID.
