he Fitbit Charge 6 is a strong, budget‑friendly fitness tracker that delivers excellent health and activity tracking, improved heart‑rate accuracy, and helpful Google features like Maps, Wallet, and YouTube Music controls. It’s comfortable, easy to use, and great for everyday fitness, though its GPS can be inconsistent and some advanced insights require a Fitbit Premium subscription. Overall, it’s one of the best values for people who want powerful tracking in a slim, simple band

I had a charge 5 for a few years which worked well until the screen stoped working. The 6 has a small button on the side that allows you to turn the screen on if it doesn't come on automatically. I think this is an improvement. I mostly use it for a quick look at the time and to measure daily steps and distance walking on a hike. That works great.

Replaces my Inspire 2. Good, simple tracker for the price. Lower profile on the wrist is a good design; comfortable band. Tracks different exercises on the wrist (as opposed to only in the app). Haven't used all the features yet. Battery lasts about 7 days before recharging. Difficult to rate durability because I haven't had it long. My other Fitbits lasted about 2 years each.

Are you looking for something that can:
Tell time
Monitor health
and last forever without charging?
This watch does everything but last forever (pretty darn close though). I track my workout 6x a week for about 40 minutes each, get limited notifications, and check the time regularly and this watch still gets 7+ DAYS of battery. I've owned it for 2.5 weeks and have only charged it twice. I can now wear it for sleep without worrying about batteries.
Used with my iPhone and Pixel 9 and works well with both.

I've now owned this for a couple months. It does everything I want BUT there is an inherent weakness in the band bracket on the top of the unit. It flies off my wrist when at the gym which is not helpful when you're tracking heart rate. It happens frequently enough that it's disappointing. If you go to the gym, you might want to consider a smart watch style.

My Charge 3 stopped working. I was so sad. I looked at all the Fitbit watches available. I chose this one for all its features. Have not been disappointed. The only thing I am not fond of is how the watchband works, but is not a game changer.

BE AWARE, the Charge does NOT track floors......

My bad. I admit it... See, my current FitBit 4's screen had died and I was in a hurry to get a replacement. Didn't even think to check. Understand, this is my third Fitbit Charge... and I made the (incorrect) assumption that this natural progression in the Charge series (3, 4, [I never got a 5 or you might be reading this same kind of review earlier...]) would be *about* the same as the earlier ones I owned. Maybe some improvements because that's the way this stuff used to work, right? WRONG! I never even considered the possibility that they would take away what I had considered to be the only thing that set it apart from other 'step counter' and heartbeat monitor devices... The ability to track elevation ('floors') and still keep the same "Charge" name.
Good job, Google... You got me. <sigh> In a world where companies actually cared about customers, they might give a model with a radical change in functions a different name. Even something as simple as "Charge X Lite" ... well, not that exactly but something along those lines "Charge 6 Budget" "Charge 6 Econ" something to alert people that these new and (not) improved) Charge-s, while seemingly in the same lineage (3, 4, ...) are different. But that would probably hurt sales, right? Who knows, maybe it would have helped sales of a more expensive version with the 'floors' feature.
I hope you don't think I'll buy another one with an altimeter/barometer. Not going to happen. In fact, this will be the last Fitbit/Google tracking product that I purchase. New brand in 3 years (or am I dreaming that a Google product could possibly last that long.... After all, planned obsolence is good for Google ... And what's good for Google is good for...well, if not America, then at least our digital overlords, I guess).
As for the alleged 'improvements,' the watch GPS is cludgy, an energy hog, and overly complicated. I quickly discovered it is best to default to using the phone GPS... The EDA scan is a truly useless gimmick, there, I suspect, solely as ploy to try to upsell you to premium 'breathing exercises' content (Spoiler alert... Don't do it... they suck... Want breathing exercises? get a dedicated meditation app!). I would gladly sacrifice the gimmick eda-scan-upsell silliness for an altimeter, however (below) average it may perform. On the plus side, the screen is bright and readable in any light. After years of learning to give up on trying to see anything on the Charge 4 screen, I have to remind myself that this screen is actually acceptable. And the "Find Phone" function is useful.
Every week seems to be a new problem... As reported elsewhere, the app would sometimes crash when attempting to view (post-workout) the map of a walk tracked on the app ... On more than one morning, I have encountered grossly inaccurate (too high) heart rate. I wear a second tracker for accurate altitude (suunto) on my right wrist. So when fitbit reported a heart rate at double the actual rate, I knew the Fitbit had problems. Searched on-line and sure enough, a known issue. I had to reboot multiple times to get it right. (and the reboot via charging cable is stunningly user-unfriendly... Do you people even know how the average person charges things... You place the button in an almost impossible to reach position unless it is alone in a USB port/jack. Really dumb). The Out of Control Heart Rate Issue started when I was (foolishly) trying to use the EDA scan (my bad... Seriously, we should be given the option to disable the Useless EDA Scan). Suspect the heart rate reading fail is related to stunningly cheap/inadequate hardware design and production issues.
And finally, after all these years, you'd think somebody there could fix the app so that it stops announcing the average and split pace as the same for each 'lap' (Average Pace AND Split Pace are generally NOT the same thing!... Sheeesh).

It's a good product, the display is clear and visible in full sun outdoors, which was something I was worried about. Occasionally I'm unable to sync the Fitbit with the mobile app.
Also, the strap is made of plastic and not very comfortable especially when wet. But you can buy additional straps that are made of fabric, so I might do just that. Overall I'm satisfied with this purchase.

Enjoy using the product. Sometimes it doesn’t calculate my entire walk because the god with track a different shape than the street I am on. However, my iPhone does the same thing. Seems more like it is the current level of technology we are using than the product. I enjoy that it is smaller than an Apple Watch. This is why I bought this product over an Apple Watch. It is smaller / a great size.

Overall a significant upgrade from the 5. They fixed the previous issues. The overall functionality of the watch is perfect for those who are into fitness as well as just tracking their HR, sleep time and oxygen level. It has a lot of extra functions for the higher level athletes to use. It functions well for reading texts and incoming calls. Responses are limited but that's not what this watch is for.

My Fitbit Charge 5 quit working in under 3 years. I wasn't going to buy another Fitbit but after 7 months of my Aria not syncing because of not having a Fitbit, I bought the 6. So far so good with it. I did sign up for the free 6 months of Fitbit Premium and got my confirmation email, but it never showed up in my app. I had to search to find where my payment info was and canceled Premium. I wasn't going to get charged for something that wasn't in the app.

My new Fitbit replaces one I had years ago. This purchase meets & exceeds my expectations as I begin to focus on my health and physical well-being. The design looks current and unobtrusive & the screen info is easy to see and read.
The tracking options meet all my needs -- especially the sleep tracking. Haven't upgraded to their Premium service because all I need is available.

Battery life is great! I didn't need all the features of a regular smart watch, so when I switched to Pixel I picked this up. Syncs well and am able to wear it to sleep. 3 weeks in and the batter has lasted well over 7 days each charge. After reading up, I do take it off for the shower.

my older fitbit was falling apart- literally. The flimsy attachment system for the bands got compromised early on and I ended up super gluing the band to the actual fitbit part. My spouse had the same issues. Once I super glued my band to the housing, there was no way I could change the band, and then it broke a couple more times, more glue, then it became 'unglueable' lol, so when these new ones went on sale after Thanksgiving I went and got one, since I was used to the app and the way it worked in general. I am praying that these have an improved band attachment system, but the band came off pretty easy as I had to put on the longer band that comes with the watch. I'm just being very careful when I put it on and take it off. I do like the new charger which works through a magnet, much easier to do. I never had any electronic problems, only with the flimsy band attachment system. The Charge 6 display is a little flashier as well, but not as customizable that I can tell so far. Only time will tell, thus my lower ratings.
