Disappointed the GPS was removed. . I bought this for my teenage son who's on Cross country the whole point of getting it was so that he can track his runs and his workouts and because the GPS was removed he can't do that unless his phone is with him . I didn't want to get him an Apple Watch because he already had an Apple phone it's basically having two phones but I broke down and got the Apple after I return to this Fitbit versa because I would've had to purchase the fitbit ionic which is the same price point as an Apple Watch . I would've kept the Fitbit versa had it had the GPS very disappointed and Fitbit

Good upgrade from Blaze. Still does not have GPS but connected to phone has the functionality. The Waterproof feature will be the ultimate test.

Bought this for my girlfriend, and she loves it. She has an older model Fitbit watch, and is really impressed with the additional features. The only negative is lack of GPS, as other reviewers have noted.

This watch lacks so much you that you would get with a samsung watch. No Gps, very limited with notification replies and lacks alot of interaction for a device at that price. very nice fitment on man though but almost too big for sport use.

It's a great daily fitness tracker but the gps connectivity to my phone is terrible. Road 12+ miles today and only tracked 7. I've ran with it 4 times and it's never accurate.

Fitbit products are overall a great choice for tracking fitness. I chose the Versa because I felt the gps was a bit unnecessary considering I do most exercise with my phone. Fitbit stays charged for 4 to 5 days without the gps, which is a great feature.

I purchased this fitbit because my Blaze was no longer working (my fault I got it wet). I am almost glad I broke my last watch because I wouldn't have purchased this one if I hadn't. I love that this one comes with so many more options for the clock faces as well as so many more apps. The only reason this didn't get a 5 is because you have to have a phone on your for the GPS to work.

This watch was great in terms of battery life but that's as far as it goes for me. It is not GPS enabled and Strava just would not connect, even after talking with customer service trying to get it all figured out. Its accurate but very basic. I thought there would be more available for the price it carries. I said yes to recommending to a friend because none of my friends are competitive runners like me and would actually enjoy this activity tracker; it's just not my cup of tea.

Overall, good fitness watch. A few things missing that's stopping this product from being great like no built in GPS or texting. You only have a few options for text message response. I'm still new to my watch, but I don't see myself taking it back. Use it for what it's made for and you'll be pleased. Put every function to work for best results.

I've had all the previous Fitbit devices but this one exceeds the rest. It's a perfect blend of simplicity and smart tech. With this watch I can see my text messages, emails while monitoing my steps, calories burned and heart rate. It does come with apps to link your Starbucks account, music etc. This watch doesn't have the GPS but wasn't a deal breaker for me. Nowadays who can't pull up the GPS on their phone.

I love the Fitbit Versa! I am pretty ingrained in the Fitbit ecosystem, so replacing my Fitbit Charge HR with the Versa made sense for me. I wanted a watch this time and prefer the sleek styling of the Versa over the Fitbit Ionic. You won't get the built in GPS with the Versa though, if that is something you need. Since I always have my phone with me, going with the Fitbit Versa was a no brainer. Good luck with your decision and happy shopping!

Love it. The only bad thing is the gps. You need your phone with you in order to use the gps. But good battery life. 5 days. On single charge.

I purchased the unit to track my runs, get sleep tracking, and have some smart notifications. The connected GPS feature it has never worked and it required my phone to be in proximity to work too. The sleep tracking seemed to be accurate. I didn't like that the screen wasn't always on though. I ended up purchasing the Garmin Vivoactive 3. It is more customizable for workouts and has built in gps. It doesn't track sleep as well and the Garmin's screen isn't as good, but I love that the screen is always on and it looks like a normal watch too.

I replaced a Microsoft Band 2 with this watch. My take on the first two months of use are: + screen is easy to read + waterproof means I can rinse it off after working out + battery lasts several days if you are wearing it as a watch and not using it to track workouts + daily charge takes less than 20 minutes + vibration alarm wakes me up every time + band material appears to be holding up well with minimal to no scuffs - I find the band latch difficult to remove when taking the watch off - settings were hard to figure out. Need to dig through the Fitbit app to configure the watch - somewhat annoying to put in the charger - TONS of emails from Fitbit about every little thing the watch recorded. These should be opt-in. - wanted to use the watch without making a Fitbit account which is not possible Overall, I'm happy with the watch. It doesn't have built in GPS (which my Band 2 did at this price point), but I wasn't willing to pay $100+ more to get it. I would buy the Versa again. Would rate 5 stars if it included GPS on the watch - no phone required.

Won't connect to the phone GPS

First, the Best Buy salesman was positive that this watch had full built in GPS. NO, IT DOESN'T. It needs to connect to the GPS in your phone to track you. The salesman just lied. Second, the watch won't connect reliably to the phone. When the app was first installed on the phone, it connected for about a day and then refused to connect again. After a week, we uninstalled the app and then reinstalled it. Once again the watch got GPS from the phone for about a day before losing it again. Unfortunately, my wife threw away the box right after getting it home so we can't return the watch. Don't buy this watch if you want it to work!

I recently had to replace my old Fitbit Surge. I spent a fair amount of time talking about the pluses and minuses of the Ionic, Apple Watch 3 and the Versa. They are all great... but what sold me on the Versa is it battery life (> 5 days! @@@@@@@ and simplicity. The Ionic also has 5 day battery life - but because it also has GPS - it is a lot bigger. I used the GPS on my surge about 3 times in 3 years... just playing with it. I have GPS on my phone. The Apple watch is also smaller - like the Versa AND it also has GPS AND lots more. The downside of the Apple Watch is the battery life is ~1 day. @@@@@@@@ Apple says 18 hours). This was a non-starter for me. I have now used the Versa for about 4 days. I love it.

Top line: It's a great device. It's a smart watch that doesn't reach to try to be something it's not designed to be. It nails the fitness aspect by boasting accurate optical HR readings for all activities I've tried so far, and also allows users to customize what notifications they want to receive from their Versa. It'll work with Google Maps, messaging, Etrade, NY Times, and a whole lot more. And the FitBit app is second to none in the fitness space... Note: FitBiot did have a small fumble with the App Store crashing the first week of launch, which was a frustrating experience. Now that this functionality has been restored, and the software on the device is running as it should with updates, all is well and stable. The really good: The battery, the looks, the onboard memory for music, the touch sensitivity, the HR accuracy. It also has a low-profile elevation off the wrist with the new HR sensor (no real bump). The less good (but still good/fine): FitBit pay is only supported by some banks. I'm sure this will come in time. The Versa lacks GPS. For some hardcore runners or cyclists, this may be a deal-breaker. But for me, I'm fine with sidestepping this feature. Most other mid-range fitness watches lack onboard music, so that'll leave you brining your phone anyway (or a music device). I'm fine having the Versa estimate my distance when I want to leave the phone behind, but I'm good also bringing the phone with for most activities. What really matters is HR accuracy, and I've found the measurements to be very good with the new FitBit HR sensor integrated. All of that said, my consideration set was as follows: Garmin Vivosport, Garmin Vivoactive 3, Apple Watch Series 2/3, FitBit Ionic. I think the Versa is the best blend of aesthetics, functionality, smart watch appeal, and app ecosystem. I'm a happy dude.
