I have been a big fan of this movie for a long time and watched it whenever it would come out on Cable TV back in the '80s. I have to say that ARROW has done a fabulous job on this package and kept the price point down fairly reasonable for what you get in it. This is the Limited Edition 2 Disc 4K set. There is also a Blu-ray version of this set. So, you decide which one you want. The actual 4K in this release is spectacular and the colors are just super bright and more refined now than ever before. The previous Universal Blu-ray doesn't hold up to this new release. If you love Queen's music, you owe it to yourself to check this movie out. They did a fabulous job on it and it sounds incredible. The 4K disc does not have any region restrictions, but the 2nd disc in this set is the Blu-ray that has more special features and the Documentary LIFE AFTER FLASH. That is Region A. In it, Sam Jones talks about the movie, what happened during the movie and after. I had not known about much of his life until now. It's really great to see him and most of the cast in this set in interviews, talking. Who's missing? Timothy Dalton (Prince Baron), Ornella Muti (Princess Aura), and the actress who played Klytus' colleague. Mariangela Melato (General Kala). It is a shame that they could not partake in any new interviews, but there is an older interview with Timothy Dalton before he donned the 007 Title, of course. Tons of extras folks on this set. I Highly recommend it! *** I have read numerous complaints about that super edition with the CD Soundtrack, the Blu-rays are Region B for UK and the 4K disc itself has technical problems with it. DO NOT get that unless you want to shell out near $100 for all the other stuff and you have a region free player. Still, the 4K disc has a manufacturing issue. I read the reviews on Amazon.

A bit campy but still a great movie. Lots of action. Great characters. Soundtrack by Queen! We watch this a couple times a year. 4K version is awesome.

Arrow Films single disc 4K version includes all the bonus features of the collectors edition, with the only exception being the exclusion of the documentary Life After Flash from 2017. That said this single disc edition comes with a slip cover and the stellar 4K film worth the price alone. It's not exaggeration; watching this 4K version is like watching it for the first time. It's vibrant and flashy, but also the special effects are that much more obvious and goofy looking than I remembered. If you're a fan, get this 4K print; if you're a fan of stunning 4K visuals, get this too. However if you never liked this movie in the past, then this 4K version won't change your mind about the movie itself. It's still beautiful cheese in glorious restored 4K!

One of the first actoin heros from the 1930's... Queen was awsome on the sound track... And really enjoyed the digital remastered bluray...

The picture and sound quality are great in this rerelease of Flash Gordon. We are happy to get our hands on this again.

corny movie now but it was a classic good watch for kids

I have yet to watch the 4k disc, but this collectors edition is worth every dime even without the movie! LOL Contains a set of double sided 'lobby cards' with cool movie stills one one side and the other different alternative poster art. Also has a full sized fold out one sheet poster from the artist who designed the original film one sheet in 1980 - it is double sided. Contains 1980 art plus a new poster he created for this release. The best part is the digibook which is about 60 pages. I love digibooks and this is the best I have seen yet - it is jam packed with great stills and essays on various aspects of making the film. It is also jam packed with special features spread across the two included discs. 'Life after Flash' is a full length documentary I have seen sections of elsewhere and is worth a watch for any fan of the film. I would consider this the definitive physical release of this film and doubt there will be another to top it. For all the included swag I am also happy to report it will not take up much more room on your shelf than a regular 4k disc - perhaps 1 1/2 the space of a regular disc. The bad news: No digital code included with this package unfortunately. If a fan of this film DO NOT HESITATE this is a limited release.

Very good movie it’s in the top 10 favorite movies

This is a comic book movie - so it is corny but fun. I didn't like the 5.1 sound track. I thought it sounded better using the 2.0 sountrack. The band Queen does a lot of the soundtrack. The movie uses a lot of psychedelic and artistic scenery to place you in an imginary universe. The art work is very cool looking. I would not recommend this movie for children.

I saw this movie, in the theater as a young impressionable child, and on VHS, DVD and Blu-Ray, so I can say without reservation that this is the best this movie has ever looked (okay, I don’t remember the picture quality in the theater from when I was 5, but you get the idea). This is such a colorful movie, and the HDR color grading gives the costumes and set design an impressive pop with each scene. The audio mix is stellar too. Queen’s soundtrack sounds vivid and crisp throughout. If you are a fan of this movie, you’ll be thrilled with this disc.

One of the best Sci-Fi movie remakes of a TV series ever with Queen music! Love it. It looks and sounds better than ever now. I can't believe how this one looks considering it is from 1980. This is the 4K disc edition only. Comes with a nice slipcover also. The black case is pretty sturdy and not one of those cut out ones with arrows on left side. Menu is nice and loads of extra features here. The documentary "Life After Flash" is not here on this edition, but can be found on the Arrow Box set with additional photo cards inside case. Highly recommended for a good '80s Sci-Fi adventure!

Everyone is Over Acting and they know it and they seem to really be enjoying them selves. Fun to watch.

Flash Gordon isn't for everyone, but it is a good movie set in 1980.the music score is what makes the movie really good because new score is all done by Queen. What makes the steelbook really good as it's the 40th anniversary of the movie itself. Anybody knows the story behind Flash Gordon knows the story itself. Flash Gordon, Dale Arden, and Doctor Zarcough have to find a way to stop Earth's destruction. Not knowing that Ming the Merciless is behind everything and Earth's destruction. Having the 40th anniversary edition come out on steelbook is worth every penny.
