Great acting. Streep is excellent in any role she plays. Grant is lovable as always.

Streep was excellent as usual. I loved the facial expressions of the pianist. The costumes were great. It was a wonderful story.

This is one of his most compassionate, a story that appears to ridicule its hapless heroine and puncture the pretensions of high society. Before we know it, we are just as invested in sustaining the illusion: conspirators in a plot to sustain the dreams of Mrs. Jenkins against the cold, hard light of judgment.

The story is simple: Performing at Carnegie Hall is a life dream fulfilled. The fact that Florence Jenkins can't sing makes the journey excruciating for all concerned. Without strong performances from Streep, Grant, and especially Simon Helberg as FFJ's accompanist we might not take the trip to the last stop.

This movie was funny yet poignant. Meryl Streep's performance is fantastic.

I saw this movie in the theater and liked it so much that I bought it for my wife (and me) for Christmas. Highly recommended.
