Whether you’re a fan of racing or not, Ford v Ferrari has something for everyone. The rich characters, compelling dialogue, and loyalty to the true story and world of racing provides a great film that can be enjoyed by the most ardent racing enthusiasts and audiences who’ve never even heard of Le Mans. Packed with over 2 hours of special features, this set comes packed with tons of background on the making of the film and the story of how the film came to be after spending several years in development. Seeing the film on 4K is a treat, but the best component is the sound. If you have a proper sound setup, the engines and racing sound effects will never cease to wow you. Definitely worth adding to your collection!!

Wow, what a European Style Formula-One Auto Racing flick – its’ challenges and frustrations, the need for self-worth and yes – the absolute joy of winning big! Both Damon and Bale get it right as-well-as they very effectively playing-off each other – they were nothing less than superb! The real beauty of this film is that it catches the spirit of the racing team members and their individual special uniqueness. A driving team has got to believe in their personal as-well-as their teams’ self-worth to collectively capture that “perfect-lap” and win – it’s all about winning. This film grabs the heart and sole of high risk car racing – it’s the sweet smell of gasoline, tire rubber burning, brakes squalene , the sound of up/down transmission shifts, motors riven, all the shaken going on, and yes the great feel of win ’en. The real bottom line – without question this film delivers both a quality and pleasant viewer experience

They went on to defeat the greatest European (and unparalleled world championship) racing team, From a teaming up of Shelby with Ford came the Ford GT40 that went on to win the ultimate car race -the 24 hours of LeMans. But... This story is presented as the corporate world suppressing ambitions by appealing to greed and desire for fame of the owner. All this at the expense of well-deserved glory for the driver, Ken Miles. It is really Ken Miles story... And... Racing. Despite the obligatory giant American business ruins it for the true hero aspect, it is a great movie about a talented and determined duo who changed racing and American car manufacturing forever...But primarily a tribute to and unveiling of the tragic life and death of Ken Miles.

“Ford V Ferrari” tells the true story of retired American racecar driver Carroll Shelby who is hired by Ford Motor Company to build a car that can defeat the perpetually arrogant Ferrari company at Le Mans, and his enlisting Ken Miles, a hot-tempered British driver, to drive the car. Matt Damon and Christian Bale play Shelby and Miles respectively, and the development of the subsequent events is truly nail-biting, primarily due to director James Mangold who orchestrates both the dramatic and the action scenes to perfection. It is at its best in the two lengthy race sequences: first, the 24-hour at Daytona, and then the 1966 Le Mans 24-hour. During these I felt myself back in 1966 glued to my seat in a Cinerama theater experiencing John Frankenheimer’s "Grand Prix" for the first time. Quite simply, “Ford V Ferrari” is not only one of the year’s most exciting films, it is also the greatest racing film since "Grand Prix". But even if you aren't a fan of car racing, the human story is so interesting and the production so superb that you should not miss seeing this.
