Well-written, cast and acted movie! UHD (4K) HDR and Dolby Atmos surround combination is excellent! Watch it on an OLED TV for best visual effect. With a full blown surround system, including front speakers, center channel speaker, surround speakers, 4 Atmos add-on height speakers and 2 power subwoofers the race scenes sound amazing. Watch the scene where the plane flies over the crowd at the Ford Mustang event (around 44 minutes into the film I believe) and, with a surround system which includes Atmos height speakers, it sounds like a big plane actually flew over our house. I also watched the same disc on my smaller highly-rated UHD TV and while the picture is still great (not as vivid as on the OLED TV of course), the sound is underwhelming at best when only piped through TV speakers (understatement). Great for anyone's film collection.

I’ve been wanting to buy this 4K movie for a long time now, but price every where else was higher. Best Buy price the deciding factor of “ Let’s Go “ Now equipment in my system “ LG C9 OLED, XBOX 1 X, OPPO 203 4K player, Fiber optic RUIPRO 8K 50GPS HDMI cable’s “ Side note, FIBER OPTIC CABLE DOES MAKE A DIFFERENCE!!!! Okay 4K movie, AWESOME!!!! Picture clarity and depth very good, color excellent, sound Is very immersive in all the racing scenes and you’ll feel like your there at the track. Oh yes that was through my Xbox 1 X, when I watched through my OPPO 203 WOW, CLARITY AND DEPTH was even better!!! Colors refined and deeper. I’ve owned my C9 77in LG OLED now for about a year and half and that was the BEST MOVE I DID!!! Colors and Perfect Blacks make movie watching an Awesome experience EVERY TIME I put a 4K movie in and streaming also looks great, but 4K disc are better. Buying this movie “ Absolutely Yes “

I am not a fan of racing or NASCAR, but I do love certain racing movies. "Rush" is in my permanent video collection, and I also enjoy watching race-themed films like "Talledega Nights" and "Grand Prix." "Ford v. Ferrari" is, arguably, the best of the crop. It snagged some Oscars earlier this year for its technical mastery and competed for Best Picture. Matt Damon and Christian Bale are the two leads, and they deliver the kind of solid performances that you expect, playing real life racing legends Carrol Shelby and Ken Miles. They are hired by Ford to wrest the coveted trophy of 24 Hours of Le Mans from rival Ferrari against long odds. "Outlander's" Catriona Balfe gives effective support as Bale's exasperated wife. This was one of 2019's most entertaining films.

If you're an cinemaphile/audiophile, this film should be in your collection. Ford v Ferrari is a perfect example of storytelling with audio & video production executed properly. You could use it to teach how a film is made. If you have a dedicated home theater with proper speakers & subwoofers, this film's sound effects is some of the best you'll ever hear. Watch anything by James Mangold & his sound designers (David Giammarco, Paul Massey), and you'll understand. The sound mix in this film is phenomenal. Don Sylvester and David Giammarco have also worked together on Logan and 3:10 to Yuma, which also have excellent sound mixes and truly bring an HT alive. You have to own this physical disc to get the full benefit of lossless audio & video available. This film should never be streamed.

The movie itself is great. Damon and Bale have a great chemistry on screen and while not accurate to the full Ford V Ferrari rivalry, it does a great and entertaining job of getting at the heart of the rivalry and Fords battle into Le Mans. The recreation of the cars was spot on too! Now the 4K is amazing. The sound is stunning and work your subs hard with the engines reviving half the movie, and the visuals incredibly crisp with great contrast. I had friends over to watch without stating it was 4K and they were blown away by the clarity and detail (one friend was convinced I’d bought a new TV) Don’t sleep on this title if you’re a car guy, or just like well written well casted movies with a great blend of drama action and comedy.

Based on the real-life rivalry at the 1966 24 Hours of Le Mans race, James Mangold's Ford v Ferrari is a sensationally stirring sports drama that accelerates from 0-60mph in the opening moments and maintains top speed until crossing the finish line. Starring Matt Damon and Christian Bale, Mangold's biopic of the two visionary engineers responsible for defeating Ferrari thrills with the same kinetic energy as the championship racing sequences. The film races through the Ultra HD speedways powered by an extraordinary 4K HDR10 presentation and superb, reference-quality Dolby Atmos soundtrack, showcasing a notable upgrade over its Blu-ray model. Although featuring a rather disappointing selection of bonuses, the overall UHD SteelBook package is nonetheless highly recommended.

1966 is the year Ford broke Ferrari’s dominance at Le Mans. Growing up reading Motortrend and Car and Driver magazines, I was familiar with the story and some of the characters involved in this monumental shift in racing, car design and in storied legendary brands Ford and Ferrari. The story is not only well done, but in 4K this is a reference quality disc. A great solid story, beautiful visuals and heart pounding sound makes this release a must have if you are looking for the best possible experience outside of a movie theater. The Dolby Atmos track will test even the best surround sound setups and honestly, it’s one of the reasons I’m currently building a 7.1.4 Dolby Atmos surround system. If you like movies and love home theater, Ford V Ferrari is a must own on physical media.

This was my #2 movie I saw in theaters in 2019. I just loved it and of all the movies my movie group saw in theaters this one had the most universal love. I can't remember anyone that didn't like it. It's what you call a good old fashioned popcorn movie. My favorite scene is when Matt Damon takes Mr. Ford out for a spin in the race car. In regards to the 4K and Blu Ray transfer both versions are beautiful and you can't go wrong with either version so if you don't have a 4K at this time you can enjoy the Blu Ray now and if you get a 4K TV in the future enjoy it again in that format other wise if price is an issue or you don't plan up going to 4K I still highly recommend buying just the Blu Ray version. I give this movie my highest recommendation. It was a must own for me.

This is essentially documenting the genesis of the Ford GT40. Ken Miles and Carroll Shelby collaborated on this car, using it to defeat Ferrari at the 1966 Le Mans. I have to say that the DTS-HD 7.1 mix on the Blu-ray sounds great. Picture looks great. Steelbook looks great. I felt all the cast members did great in their roles. James Mangold turns in another great directorial effort as well. This is definitely a movie to get. And if you have a good home theater setup, it will show it off more than adequately.

    The Real Wheel Deal

This is no remake of Grand Prix, or a 1930's race car movie with wise cracking side kicks, or a musical-romance with Elvis at the wheel. This is the real deal. It is well researched, filled with real characters and even a manufacturer or two you may care about. It also contains a scene you've never seen before -- an accurate depiction of the terror that is professional racing. It is somewhat played for laughs, but when the president of Ford Motor Co. is given a "ride" in a Ford GT40 he experiences the terrifying closeness to death that all top drivers live with -- and for. We're beyond a story of international playboy drivers with expensive toys and into the realm of true heroism. A great film.

Based on factual events this movie is simply outstanding! This may be director James Mangold's best work. The sound of the Ford F40 is just incredible! I felt like I was actually inside the car when watching the scene where Henry Ford ll gets a ride from Caroll Shelby! Christian Bale is his typically fabulous self in his portrayal of Ken Miles. Matt Damon is also excellent as Caroll Shelby. Honorable mention to Jon Betenthal as Lee Iacoca as well. Just love that guy as an actor, he is always great no matter who he plays. This movie is best experienced on a big screen with a dynamic sound system for full effect! Highest possible recommendation that I can give!

This movie celebrates automobile racing with history long forgotten on today's Millennials and generations grown up on NASCAR. It exposes the underbelly of the auto industry and its fabled manufacturers in auto racing like Ferrari. The movie exemplifies shows how a few individuals can change the world of racing like Carol Shelby and Enzo Ferrari. It is a history lesson on how perseverance and true grit define a sport that millions take for granted every year. Not a car buff but I really enjoyed the movie, cinematics and plot. Well worth the watch and purchase.

This movie should have one best picture. It is perfectly filmed and perfectly balanced. Documentary turned Hollywood story is an amazing story of the Ford versus Ferrari saga, this movie known in the rest of the world as LaMans '66 is the recreation story of the men behind the grand story that led Ford to victory and I absolutely love it! The 4k film and the amazing ATMOS sound track brings this movie to life!!! Watching it in my home theater created a better experience than I had even in the Cinema theaters. I cant get enough about this movie and highly recommend buying it, even if you are not a gear head, grease monkey, motor head, car lover, ect. You will still enjoy and love this movie!

Ford vs Ferrari is an entertaining take on the late 60s story of how Carol Shelby transformed Ford into a contender and winner in auto racing. Despite the auto companies in the title, the movie is more about the men and women and their relations. Great character depth, intense and history are reasons to watch. From start to finish, the film is well produced. Christian Bale and Matt Damon have great chemistry with on/off friendship on the big screen. Ford vs Ferrari is definitely worth the watch and maybe a few times more. One of the best movies in the last couple of years.
