I cannot stress enough how great this game is. To those of you who have played horizon games in the past, this ups all of them. To newcomers who aren't sure, buy!! The visuals are amazing especially the HDR. The game play is great like always but its the exhaust notes that sound beautiful.

It has a large variety of cars to choose from and the detail of the graphics is realistic.

I've been playing for about 3 hours now and I'm still amazed at how fantastic this game plays and looks. I bought the Xbox One X just to play this game and I'm absolutely blown away by the visuals with the enhanced graphics and 4k resolution. The game itself is very exciting right off the bat. The off-road/road/water/dirt/mud/snow/rain gives the game such a varied feel. I feel like it's a good balance between arcade vs simulation. Total simulation games like Gran Turismo are awesome but they get boring for me after a while because it feels like more and more of the same. Also they can be difficult because you're trying to nail every single racing line perfectly and it takes away from the fun factor IMO. If you want to mix things up or you have a One X, I would definitely recommend this. The graphics are absolutely stunning! I just wish it had a split screen mode so I could play with my son.

I've always enjoyed the Horizon series mode than the typical Forza Motorsport standalone games for the more relaxed open world atmosphere and this capitalized on everything I love about it. Australia makes for the perfect setting to get a nice car and let loose in the Outback!

The game looks great. If I had only one complaint, it would be how the controls respond. The vehicles seem rather difficult to drive, and that could be due to the fact that I don't have it customized correctly. But much of the vehicle customizations are only effective if you know a thing or two about vehicles. If not, you have to research just to educate yourself on how each customization makes the vehicle drive differently. A little too detailed for a racing game.
