Looks very elegant, it catches the attention of those apples. You have to adjust the battery settings otherwise it won't last you all day. It looks stunning. Fossil has other accessories on its store that will add versatility to your smartwatch. Sadly WearOS is a pain but that is on google. Oh Google u bad

    Great Wear OS device

Probably one of the best Wear OS watches I've used in this price range. The layout is very tactile, there are tons of watch faces to choose from with a lot of customization and easy to swap on the fly, and it is a comfortable size. The battery life can be lacking if you're running everything all of the time. I normally run mine in extended mode and get about 2-3 days depending on how much I look at the watch. If you plan on using this as a fitness watch carry your charger with you. Running active heart rate monitoring, Spotify and gps at the same time will definitely make an impact on the battery.

The smart watch for stock android lovers

I was considering the new Galaxy line of 2020 but having had one before I really do not like the way Samsung supports its products long term. I decided to give this Fossil a try at a reduced price versus Samsung. Boy am I happy I did. If you are someone who wants a smart watch to look good on your wrist, not be massive in size, and give you all of the functions you need, this is for you. You will especially love it if you are a Google Pixel user since the software syncs with stock Android the best. The health features are sufficient and batterly life is typically around two days when I am using a custom mode. I can easily recommend this watch to anyone who enjoy stock Android and does not like Samsung software all that much.

I really wanted to like this watch. I was drawn in by the promise of a ton of smart features on my wrist, and it didn't deliver. It's a fine watch design-wise, Fossil makes great-looking watches and this lives up to their expectations. But unfortunately for Fossil, this watch is limited by the software of Wear OS, and it's pretty bad (even years later). The biggest issue to me was the battery. At first I was making it through a full day with the watch, and I had to turn off a lot of the convenience features (tilt the screen to wake it, "ok google" detection, etc) in order to stretch battery life to barely 24 hours. Even so, sometimes I'd get random extreme battery drain, so it was more of a "best case: 24 hours" battery life, which just got exhausting to constantly monitor. Now I'll admit, I used this watch every day for 1.5 years, and it held up. Battery life didn't get worse that I noticed (not that it could get much worse), this watch took normal wear and tear without breaking a sweat, and software stayed consistent (glitchy and laggy always, but at least it didn't get worse). Also, Google Assistant has apparently been broken on Wear OS for years. I don't know that I ever had a successful prompt and response with Google Assistant on this watch. I'd either get an error, or it wouldn't hear me, or, most often, it would lag so much that I'd have to wait for it to initialize after I hit the prompt button, then speak, then wait 10 more seconds for it to process, then I'd finally get my answer (usually an error anyway). I stopped using Google Assistant almost immediately, so that's a major draw of this watch gone. I just found out about hybrid watches like a month ago, 1.5 years into wearing this watch, and I switched to the Fossil Hybrid HR immediately. Hybrid smartwatches strip out what I would call the "unnecessary" features of a smartwatch (microphone and speaker, built-in apps, GPS, massive screen) and that allows them to focus on what I'd consider most core features of what I want on a smartwatch (reading notifications, music control, activity tracking, sleep tracking, heart rate monitoring), all in a much better looking package, plus a battery life of 2+ weeks, and a much lower price tag. Plus, the software is built by Fossil instead of Google, which I never would have thought would be a good thing but it is. This review isn't about hybrids so I'll stop there but just saying, check out your other options before purchasing a Wear OS watch. Lastly, Google has rolled out Wear OS 3.0, which is a massive overhaul to the OS built in collaboration with Fitbit and Samsung, the two other major players in the Android smartwatch game. That's amazing news for Android smartwatches, but this watch, the Fossil Gen 5, won't get that update. You'll be stuck with the glitchy, laggy OS forever. In 2022 there is zero reason to buy this watch. If you want a basic, stylish smartwatch, get a hybrid. If you want the best full-on smartwatch, get an Apple Watch (hurts me to say as a Google fan but it's true). And if you want a great Android smartwatch instead, get one that has Wear OS 3. This watch doesn't win any category anymore.

Have had this watch for over a week now and I have to say it's quite nice! It's very well made and easy to use. The best part that I love about it is you can use google assistant with a click of a button! Enough said! Very pleased!

The physical watch itself is quite nice, but the software and Android experience on the watch is not too great. The battery life is weak and forces you to play with settings to get it to last. The software is pretty dry and outdated. Better to go with Samsung or Apple.

Having owned since its inception 3 pebbles, 2 fitbits, 2 samsungs and now this Fossil. I feel it is a great competitor in the smartwatch arena. My cost was $205.00 out the door and now using for 14 days find it as great a watch in my day to day - work, recreation, gym as the S3 Frontier or Fitbit Surge. Phone calls, email, text (through AT&T) excellent. Gym and Google are not perfect but as a quick monitor situation are ok with my needs.

Good watch with all the bells and whistles of a smart watch. Battery drains quickly during the day of usage and barely lasts a day, even with minimal use in the daily battery mode. Charges quickly within an hour or so after plugging in. The dial is not very bright when you go from a dark place into sunlight. Outlook calendar and mail notifications are good. Overall happy with the watch.

Best watch for Wear OS. Make sure to update the firmware to the latests as that resolves some of the battery life issues that plague Wear OS. I'm really loving having Google assistant on my wrist.

For the price point, its not a bad smart watch but it did not do what we wanted it to do. Wear OS doesn't hold up to the Samsung or Apple smart wear apps. I loved the feel of the fossil but the battery life was terrible (required charging daily, if you made it through the day). Sound quality was worthless.

Overall very happy with the watch. Coming from a Fossil Sport Gen 4 this is definitely snappier and nicer to boot. The only thing I can criticize and the reason why it looses the a star is the battery life. It is not the greatest and can easily need to be recharged daily if a moderate amount of notifications come in. With heavy use it is needing recharge by the evening.

The bluetooth range is excellent compared to other versions. The display is clear and the touchscreen sensitivity is accurate even with fat fingers. Wear OS integration is good but can be improved. However, it will be nice if the battery life is longer. currently with my daily normal usage, the battery usually gets below 10% by 6:00 PM. and needs a charge to survive for the rest of the day.

I got this watch with a price match from Amazon for 139.99. I really liked the watch. The only downside was battery life. Even on battery saver mode, I would be lucky to have the watch last me an entire day. It was be 5 stars for me if battery issue was not present
