    Don't waste your time...

I went to their website and setup my account, then followed activation instructions, but the FreedomPop MiFi 500 device would not activate. It could see the Sprint 4G LTE network, but would not connect. It repeatedly gave "Error code 0x6303" on the device display. I spent 2 days searching the company's website for advice and fixes; I tried everything. I submitted a service request ticket on their system, and after 5 days they responded, and said I would need to return the device. They provided a free return label and I sent it in with all the packaging, accessories, etc. Tracking shows it was delivered 10 days ago to the Plainfield, IN returns center, but they claim it has not been received and they have not shipped a replacement device. Its been a month in total now since my purchase, and I've got no device and never got 1 Mbyte of internet from it. I am still hoping someday to resolve this, but so far its been nothing but frustration.

    Misleading cost to operate

There are many hidden cost to operate the device. Online activation turn on features that then cost to turn off. Customer Service (CS) is online FAQ, if that does not resolve issue(s) then credit card (CC) is needed to pay for live CS. To stop automatic payments to CC you must de-select auto-pay but you can't get to that screen without password. The online activation did NOT provide me an option to set a password. I manage to speak to a live person to cancel the activation and I return the product to BB. Just be aware of hidden costs.

I set up an account after that it is an easy connection. I lightly use it with my iPhone & iPad. The WiFi speed is average. The device can connect to multiple devices. It doesn’t work in average low connection places.

Does exactly what it promises - Free Data (500MB)

It's simple. Activation was only ONE PENNY. Setup is pretty easy too, but you do need to pay attention to what you're doing. Remember, you're signing up for a data plan - even if the base option is FREE (and it IS). Monitor your data usage and you'll stay under that 500MB Free limit. I got this JUST in time to prevent going over my current plan's limit - saved $15 in the first few days. I tend to go over my limit by around 250MB every three months, so this will pay for itself in the first year - EASY! (I bought it on sale for $39.99) You can select other data options, from $19.99 / month for 2GB Data up to $74.99 for 10GB Data, or stay basic 500MB FREE and only $0.02 per MB for overages. Why someone rated this one star I do not understand - it's EXACTLY as they promise. I have already recommended it to several people, just monitor your use and confirm you're in their coverage area.

    Poor battery life

Pro: Easy to set up Cons: - Relatively poor battery life. - Data disappears fast after only checking email and some internet searches. I had the 2GB month trial but this was nearly gone after 6 hours over two days of use.
