As such, I have started buying third-party air filters as they are cheaper and have the same, perceived, efficacy.

This thing is amazing. I have literally never smelled any odor whatsoever in my refrigerator. The days of placing a box of baking soda in the door are over.

This takes care of that problem.

Expensive Item Given its Simplicity

Although we did not notice any issues with air quality inside the fridge, we followed the recommendation to replace the filter. The filter seems to have a high price considering how simple its materials and construction are, but that price point is likely determined by LG rather than Best Buy. Aside from the price, we have zero complaints about this product.
