Great movie and quality is great. I feel bad for the day when they get rid of physical media. I get excited for things like this.

Basically, the slasher movie that set the trend. It's always a joy to watch this movie from time to time. You have to admire it's simplicity and low key approach in crafting such an effective horror movie. The way these kind of movies were made at the time. Straightforward without all the spectacle. The 4k transfer is fine for the most part. You can definitely see the improved sharpness, contrast, and deeper tones. I don't mind the extra grain too. However, there is the presence of black crush, and it is prevalent throughout film. Certain details that should be visible now disappear into the shadows. This is unacceptable. There is no reason for this especially in scenes that doesn't require a creepy effect. Very disappointing . On a positive note, I was very satisfied with the 5.1 audio. I thought it was much more balanced than on the previous blu ray "8 movie collection" where the music was too loud and bass drowning out all the other sound effects. This is corrected on the 4k disc. Do I recommend it this 4k transfer. If you don't mind a little black crush here and there, then yes. A least the audio was improved.

I had never seen this movie, it was not what I was expecting, and I did in fact enjoy it (despite not really caring for "slasher" movies). The video is a bit difficult to give a definitive assessment. The highlights are over-done unless your TV limits the nit level (e.g. an OLED, on mine it looks very good). But otherse are getting overblown highlights, and with good reason. There is no black crush like with Wolf of Wall Street, so the film will be dark but you can still see detail. So overall looks very good on my OLED but LCD works less well. Otherwise audio is excellent, and for my set-up I'm pleased, but other set-ups you may not see an optimal video presentation.

This movie has some visual issues, but I think this movie will always have visual issues. I don’t know if it’s an upgrade over the regular version or not.

First off this new 4K scan from Paramount is amazing! All the grain is intact and gives for a great cinematic experience. Second off the complaints about the color grading are annoying…it’s got HDR/Dolby Vision is really makes the darker scenes dark and the brighter scenes brighter. Any ways I Highly Recommend this!

I have loved this movie since I first saw it as a kid. The picture clarity is what you would expect for 4K title. Dolby Vision adds the the overall presentation. They also left film grain present which is always nice. This movie has been around for 42 years. Which floors me. But that being said you have to be living under a rock not to know the storyline. So, if you want the best presentation of the film this would be it.

A dark, and I do mean dark, looking slasher with a decent story and a motivated killer. This is the first movie, so no hockey mask Jason and no real supernatural elements, especially if you are watching the Extended Cut. Think of this as a reverse of Psycho. It works though because it's about "who is going to survive" and how they will fight back.

The 4k is definitely a great release but for me i feel not really needed with the 2 collections that came out last year the 4k scans of this movie does it justice as well, this is a classic horror movie for me introduces a female serial killer and Jason Voorhees to the slasher genre.

We would say, Friday the 13th franchise is perfect to watch through month of Halloween! OR summer nights. It collects everything appealing about the 80's horror genre and wraps it up neatly into this fantastic horror package. A classic in it's genre....

If your a Jason’s fan of this franchise then add this to your collection. For a movie from 1980 upgraded to 4k was a hit for me. The hdr and Dolby vision enhanced the crap out of this film. A must have

I owned the previous remasters of this film and I can definitely say that this is the best one. Truly an incredible remaster! A lot of work was actually put into this film being 4k. Also, the uncut and theatrical are both remastered.

I'm really happy that this got a 4k release. The transfer is nice, but the music score would get louder than the dialog.
