I've lost a freezer full of food once and a freezer half full of food once. If you don't close the door forcefully and press the door in, the seal isn't tight and the freezer doesn't maintain cold enough temps to keep frozen food frozen. In part, I chose this unit because of the door seal and the light on the bottom. My previous freezer went out and we didn't know until the next day and ended up losing a lot of food then too. I was hopeful that if that were to happen again, this freezer would stay cold longer and save our food. But unfortunately, we've lost a lot of food without this thing ever losing power.
