The freezer on our side by side just does not hold enough frozen food. This freezer was on sale at a great price and much easier to access food than a chest freezer. Not quite as quit as I would .

This one on Bestbuy.com measured perfectly, but... yes, there is a but.... the size on the website were not accurate. It measured the box but did not include the 3 inches for the door. This made it stick out too far and had to be returned.

Unit stopped keeping food frozen

It lasted two years to the month. Lost $500 worth of food and it has no warranty and will cost more to repair than its worth. You would think a $500 freezer would last more than 2 years without a problem. No help from Frigidaire other than to say sorry and have a nice day. NEVER AGAIN!

Lesson learned.

Posted .Thank you for sharing your review, Attagee. We certainly regret hearing that your freezer is not cooling properly. Does your freezer still have power? Also, check to see if your doors may have been left slightly open by a product. This could be from your refrigerator not being leveled back. Make sure refrigerator is level side to side and tilted about ¼ inches back allowing your doors to close. Keep food and containers from blocking the door closing. It arrived as scheduled, the delivers set it up quickly, it holds a lot of food, frozen hard, so I tend to worry less if the power should go out.

The compressor was running hot so they replaced the compressor. It is still loud and it is in my laundry room so you hear it all over the house. Since it is in air conditioned laundry room you would think it wouldn't be so loud. I hate this freezer and so does my husband.

I didn't realize frost free models have a fan that runs. The fan is noisy like a cheap refrigerator. My current - to be replaced - old Gibson defrost model only hums a little. I assume the fan is needed in frost free models to distribute the cold while the shelves distribute the cold in defrost models. The freezer goes in an unfinished basement. Concrete all around magnifies the fan noise.

All the way around it including the top. I don't ever remember the outside of a freezer getting this hot before. And it's loud. And the door takes two hands and a strong pull to open it!! My wife bought it and I may be able to convince her to return it. We'll see. So far I hate it and would put it in the garage if she keeps it. It's not suitable for the pantry area. Also the ad said comes with 5 shelves. But only came with 4. Called the frig afired company in NC and they say it only comes with 3 shelves! I'm done.

Typically, the outside walls will seem warm or maybe even hot due to the placement of the condenser coils. The coils are designed to remove the heat from the inside of the refrigerant system.
