For the most part it's simply a quiet humming when it's running. The green light is bright and easily visable. Have not noticed any significant change in my electric bill since plugging it in. Plenty of room, appears to be easy to clean with the drain plug in the front. No frost build up yet in almost a month. This freezer has no problem at all keeping a temp. of 0 degrees or below and it does not run all the time in order to do so. Great product for the money.

The prior unit was noisy and the compressor died after 15 months. This unit has been quiet thus far. It has an internal light and LOTS of capacity. So far, so good.
