Some tips that can assist with your matter, is to ensure that there are not any items blocking the vents. Restricted air flow can cause the air conditioner to not cool as designed. If the room temperature is very high, the air exiting the unit may not feel cold. Air exiting the unit is usually between 17°-20°F lower than the Intake air, and may not feel cold to the touch until the room temperature is reduced. You may need to allow the air conditioner to run for several hours in order to notice a considerable difference, after making adjustments. So it causes it to smell and I have to take it out the window a clean it every month or it began to smell up my house from all the dead bugs in it...

After 1 week of use, one of the units became very noisy. I was away on vacation. By the time I returned, the return period had lapsed. I was referred the manufacturer whose customer service was not the best.

Even a very small room is not cool. I would recommend paying a little more to get a better one. Also, it is pretty noisy (on the outside).

It also struggles to cool a 12x10 room in the Alabama heat. The Frigidaire AC I replaced was a similar size, cooled great, and was fairly quiet. Frigidaire quality is not what it used to be.
