My Brother- in- law has the 15,000BTU. His was so quiet when we heard it. We ripped the Kenmore right out of the wall and purchased the 18,500 BTU. So far so good. Not nearly as loud as our old one and cools twice as well. I'm praying this one lasts for a goos 5 years!

First bought this same model 1 year ago. For whatever reason it did go bad after 1 long season of use but we did purchase ESP through Best Buy and they did come through with new unit. This is a great air conditioner... when working.. and we are hopeful the first one was just a fluke. This unit has several "modes" of operation with timers and remote controls and everything desired of a window unit. It cools quickly and is relatively quiet. I would investigate any upgrade models currently available but we wanted exact same model to avoid any problems with installation into the same case framework we had installed for first unit.

Overall, a nice ac. Installed just in time for a late spring heat wave. It cools the area well. Operation is easy and the remote is a nice added feature. The filter is easily accessible for cleaning/replacing.

My family room, kitchen and dining room area is about 1000 sq ft and it works very well keeping it all cool. Its actually very quiet compared to the portable air conditioner I had before this. I really like how it displays the current room temperature on the remote. Overall I'm pleased with the purchase..

Bought this air-conditioner to replace a 12,500 BTU unit . Was pleased to find that this unit would fit in size Windows we had. This unit so far works perfectly is cooling a 16 x 25 living room and a 12 x 12 dining area also. The installation was very easy and straightforward the unit cools and runs quietly and efficiently the remote sensor is another nice feature would highly recommend this unit. We will be looking to buy a smaller one for our upstairs bedrooms cycling between energy saver and cooling is quiet unlike some other units we've had

With the summer weather getting HOT here in Oregon I wanted to get an air conditioner that would cool the whole apartment down inside. I am on the bottom floor and my son is up on the 3rd floor. Looking all thru the ads for air conditioners I saw this one and it had 5 star rating. I ordered 2 of them and the shipping was free. They got here and we put them in and it gets so cold inside the apartment you are going to need a blanket on !! The air conditioners are more then worth the price they are asking and they run really quiet ... It has a remote control and there are lots of things that you can do with it...... I am really excited and I am telling everybody to get this one .... You will be so happy with this awesome product ... I got some light weight mesh and put over it to keep the leafs and stuff out of it .. The only thing that I found wrong is that there is NO DRAIN HOLE in the bottom to let the water out. I was rinsing it off and it filled up with water ...... The maintance guy drilled a little hole in the bottom and now it drains perfect ... You would think that they would have one ... I LOVE THIS ITEM AND WOULD ORDER 10 more if I need them and not be sorry ..... Thank you BEST BUY for the FREE SHIPPING and having such an amazing product to sell .....

My husband installed this air conditioner at the tail-end of a record breaking hot summer. The unit needs to cool a large area and seems to handle the task without any problem. We were also impressed how overall consistently quietly it runs for the size unit it is. Also, on some units, the compressor kicking in can really jolt you, and with this unit, going from only fan to compressor is hardly noticeable. Overall, we are very pleased with our purchase from Best Buy
