It does cool the entire house pretty well (she does have ceiling fans to help circulate the air) but it is very loud compared to other units she has had in the past. The biggest complaint we have with the unit is that after the desired temperature is reached in the house, the unit will randomly cut on & run for literally a minute or 2 and then cut off again (it's not long enough to change the temp in the room and we have tried all of the different setting options trying to fix this.) It is extremely annoying at night when you are trying to sleep since the unit is very noisy. I would recommend this unit for places where the noise level of the unit will not be an issue. It does cool a large area and it does it fairly quickly. It is not a unit that you would want to use where someone is sleeping or trying to watch TV.
