I purchased this Garbage Disposal from Best Buy in Union City, CA and I paid $120 to a local plumber to install it. After the installation, we found water was leaking from this unit. I returned this unit to Best Buy and Best Buy refunded me. However, who is going to refund me the $120 I paid to the plumber for the installation ?

The Frigidaire ¾HP Garbage Disposal is definitely one of the best I've used. Being in my home for 23 years, I have replaced a couple and this one is top of the list for the quality, speed and sound. Installation was easy since it is very similar to other units with the same three bolt system at the neck. Make sure you have plumbers putty available when putting it in whether you use your existing one or put in new one, I like to redo the seal. I did not connect this to my dishwasher since it has its own drain and was one step I was able to avoid. Once set to go, I tested the disposal unit with various items. Fruit skins or rinds, vegetables, meat and although I won't typically do it, chicken bones. I started with small ones and moved up from there. This thing went through them without any issue at all. Yes, it made some noise while chewing things up but it was by far more quiet than my previous disposals and I had absolutely no clogs or stoppages. There is a magnetic ring you install on the outside under the sink around the neck to help keep things like silverware from falling all the way in. You can't protect these things from all of the possibilities but this can be a big help. A disposal with a 10-year warranty and one that performs this well, it is definitely an upgrade for my kitchen.

Works good, but very noisy. We have had at least 6 other disposals in our other homes and this one in by far the noisiest.

I have never owned a new garbage disposal as everyplace that I have lived always had them already and never needed replacement. Now that I am a homeowner, I have finally found myself in a situation where I was in need of a new garbage disposal. I am relatively handy but by no means a contractor, plumber, or electrician and I had no trouble installing this garbage disposal went smoothly and with relative ease. I am very satisfied with my purchase. Not only does it grind through food waste with ease, it is much quieter than my previous one which is a huge pluse. I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for a new garbage disposal. It is well worth every penny. The size of it is a plus as well. It fits nicely under my kitched sink without taking up all the space under the sink. It leaves plenty of room for other things under the sink. I tend to put more down the garbage disposal then I probably should, but since upgrading to this new garbage disposal, I have not had a single issue.

Setup: At first, I was unsure if this would replace my current disposal without major plumbing reconfiguration. I was able to attach the new unit with my existing plumbing. This made the disposal easier to install for me. They included all the parts except Plumbers putty if you’re replacing the sink seal. In my case I did not have to as mine was still in good shape. Also remember to knock out the Dishwasher line plug if you have one of those. I used a screwdriver, and it popped right out. Then after testing the first run. I had no leaks. Finally, I added the magnet collar they provide to catch any fallen metal to the side. I was up and running in about 1hr. Use: The disposal is extremely quiet compared to the ½ HP one my builder installed. It seems to grind food well. I do prefer my old food plastic drain over the new one since the water and food drains slow. I wish it were a little freer flowing and the rubber sat on the top of the disposal instead of being put in the sink drain. I feel like if I stick my hand in there to clean it the plastic drain comes out with my hand. I did test the included sink plug and water was filling in the sink so that is another plus. The plug is a cheap looking metal so keep your expectations low as it is not brushed nickel or anything and likely will not match the sink. Summary: I liked the Garbage disposal that added more power and is extremely quiet without a major construction project under the sink. Everything was included and it worked as advertised. I would just wish they included a better drain plug and the rubber food catch really restricts the water flow in the drain.

Our garbage disposal has been a mess since we moved into our house a few years ago. I have been putting off replacing it for quite some time, as I expected to have to call a plumber and pay a lot to have it replaced. Well awhile back it started making terrible noises and I knew the time was here. I was looking for an upgrade and something that would last a long time, this is not something I ever want to have to think about again. The Frigidaire 3/4HP was just what I needed! All of the connections are in the exact same spot as our old model, and it included everything that I needed in the box to get it installed. I thought that even though it looked simple it would take a long time, but I was wrong! Start to finish it took me about an hour, and I have no clue what I am doing! After putting all the pipes back like I found them I plugged it in and was sure that nothing would happen, but to my surprise it works like a charm! Its so quiet and has never argued about anything we try to shove down it, and trust me we probably stick stuff in there that we shouldn't! If you are leery of replacing your own garbage disposal, don't be! It's pretty straight forward and the Frigidaire Garbage disposal keeps it that way!

I ordered this to replace a unit in one of my rental properties. I usually go with a more popular brand but decided to give this one a try. I never knew Frigidare made garbage disposals, but I'm glad I gave them a shot. It was pretty simple to install and i didnt need to replace the ring, but I did anyway. This thing is very powerful and does a great job of grinding down scraps of food and bones. I wouldnt recommend putting large bones in any garbage disposal, just smaller ones. The feature i really liked is the magnetic ring that is installed around the top of the disposal. It actually catches metal before it goes into the drain and allows you to grab it before you start the disposal. A nice feature that I never thought I needed or wanted, but Im glad i have it. My pre-teen sons are tasked with dish duty and just like most kids, they just want to get the dishes done so they seldom pay much attention to whats in the drain. They advertise a Bioshield which helps to keep the bad odors from emitting from the disposal. I cant really speak much to that since I replaced a five year old unit, but it does smell better. I guess time will tell on this feature. Overall, I've been pretty impressed with it and am happy I got this one over some more expensive brands.

This is a recommended good buy. It has enough power with 2700 rpm and does the job very easily. The grinding chamber capacity is 36 pounds and the unit is way less noisy than my old unit that had been leaking for sometime. It is, however, not silent, which cannot be a surprise. It comes with a 10 year warranty and I believe Frigidaire will replace the unit free of charge during the warranty period. Trial runs with various kitchen waste and coffee beans have been all smooth and met or exceeded expectations. Installation was easy. I first removed the old disposal and flange and disconnected the electric supply from the old unit. As this is a plug-in model, I next installed the outlet for electric supply. I next installed the new flange and it was easy. The matching of all drain connections was easy as well. Ran the system and found no holes or leaks and we have been happy since. I have used plenty of Frigidaire products and have found them to be both cost-effective and reliable and I hope this product will be the same. Good buy at a good price.

Used item sold as new, the motor was damaged and I need to return it back to the store

Firgidaire makes makes quality products, and this is no exception I chose this one for an island sink, that rarely sees food waste, and does not require a higher horsepower motor The price was spot on for this application, and Best Buy delivered on-time Since I am not the best at plumbing, I called our favorite local plumbing company and schedule the install While the old (also burnt out motor) one took some creative work to get it out (rusted bolts), it came out by a professional smoothly. The new one popped right in and fired up without any issue. Most of what I could talk about would be attributed to the installed - plumbing company, the unit performed just as we wanted Fittings that were supplied were leak proof, the disposal chewed through anything that we threw at it (again, this will be a low use unit), and the overall volume is fairly low compared to our main garbage disposal. Yes, I understand that each generation of appliances become more energy efficient, and quieter, but this one was a noticeable improvement Of course I would go back to this one should the main sink disposal ever needs to be replaced

This unit comes with simple and easy to use installation instructions. All needed tools are also included, with the exception of some basic electrical items such as tape (splicers if needed), etc.. It took more time to remove my old disposal than it did not install this new one. This one mounted and easily and I had it up and running in a little over an hour. The biggest benefit I noticed right off was how much less noise it makes when grinding up food. You can actually use and still hear the TV from the kitchen. A feature that I like the best is the built in magnets that will help keep utensils from failing into the unit while in use. I tested this feature before plugging up and it works! This will save from damaging your items and the grinding blades as well. Frigidaire is a respected appliance name and you should not need another disposal for a long time with the 10 year warranty. If you currently do not have a disposal installed, I highly recommend hiring a professional plumber to get it connected properly.

Great disposal. Plenty of power for most households, easy install (if you've done one before or are pretty handy), quiet and reliable. First thoughts, this is indeed a quality unit. I have some experience with other disposals and this is right up there with the better units I've experienced. Some disposals have a cheap "plasticky" feel and the materials seem somewhat cheap. The materials on this unit are solid, heavy and fit and finish is certainly better than some. As for installation, as I stated previously, if you are half-way handy or have installed or replaced disposals, this is pretty universal. If you are OK gettting on your back and side and working at awkward angles, no problem. If you are NOT comfortable with this, hire a professional or handy man. Getting it done right is the ONLY way to do it. Mounting flanges were universal. It took us probably 45 to 50 minutes in removing the old [25+years], loud and HEAVY disposal. Hooking this one up was pretty simple but did take some time to do it right. Once it was installed, we were surprised at how quiet it was, at least as compared to our old one. We did some basic tests of typical kitchen waste and the 3/4 HP handled it all in stride. If you have a need for either a replacement or new installation, I would have no problem recommending this unit.

Review for Frigidaire 3/4HP Corded Disposer - Gray I recently replaced our old, and increasingly noisy garbage disposal with this new Frigidaire model. What a difference! The install was pretty easy if you have moderate plumbing skills. In my case, I’m probably not at the moderate level, but my plumbing is all PVC, not copper, as is increasingly popular, so I consider it less like plumbing and more like “arts and crafts.” The best part is, if you’re replacing an existing disposal with a three-point mount, you don’t have to replace the drain hardware. If you don’t have a three-point mount or any disposal at all, you will need some plumber’s putty, but all of the rest of the drain hardware is included. Be sure to check your existing drain pipes for compatibility to avoid multiple trips to the hardware store while suspending the use of your sink. This unit comes with a 90º elbow which may or may not be all you need to finish the install. Finally, if you are connecting your dishwater drain to the disposal, be sure to knock out the insert inside of the dishwasher drain pipe. If all of this sounds like too much, you may want to have the unit installed by a plumber. The disposal itself is much more compact than the model it replaced and yet is as powerful and quieter. When you first start it, the unit makes a moderately loud “clunk” sound as the grinders engage. This is normal, but a little startling the first few times. Perhaps the most innovative feature is the “Silver Guard” — a ring of powerful magnets that mount under the sink around the collar of the unit and catch utensils, bottle caps, or other magnetic items so that they don’t fall into the disposal.

I will be reviewing The Fridgeaire 3/4 HORSE POWER Corded Garbage disposal in Gray.This particular garbage disposal has been really great so far. We recently finished a kitchen remodel and we used this garbage disposal in our brand new sink. It really works great. it is 3/4 horse power which is perfect for what we needed and the color fits perfect with our new kitchen design. it was very easy to install for my husband. My husband is pretty handy and has replaced multiple garbage disposals before, so this one was a breeze to install. it may be more difficult if you have never done it before. this model is corded so we were able to plug is straight into our undercabinet plug and it worked beautifully. so far it seems to get everything down. our previous one had some issued with chewing up food and not getting it down with the water, but so far we are not having this issue at all. the only con is that it is a tiny bit bulky and takes up more room under the sink than our previous, small one. but I would trade workability over size any day!

I picked up this Frigidaire to replace a noisy Kenmore that would occasionally stick and require a little finessing to get going again. The new Frigidaire is substantially quieter than my previous unit which I am very happy about. Installation was very straight forward, everything you need is in the box for most installations, obviously you may need to purchase some pvc pipe depending on the specifics of your installation. Luckily the only change I had to make is the previous unit was hardwired so I installed an outlet as this model came with a traditional 3-prong plug. Just something to keep in mind when you are looking to upgrade your current unit if you plan to install it yourself. The only feature I found that was disappointing was the "silver guard", it frankly didn't work at all in my case. Not sure if its because I have a Corian sink or cheap silverware but it doesn't catch anything. Besides that I have no complaints and only compliments for this unit. The true test will be if I have to utilize the 10-year warranty provided but only time will tell for that one. For now, I am happy.
