Works good the installation kit was a bit hard to use

My room gets so hot but this AC cools down my room fast !

Not what I expected. Didn't do much for me during summer.

Seemed to work but suddenly it smelled like it was burning after a few days. Decided not to risk it, returned item.

PROS: - Easy to setup - Works great! - Also acts as a dehumidifier - Adjustable timer (great for bedtime) - Includes a remote - Reusable filter - Not as loud as other units - On wheels for easy moving CONS: - Heavy == SETUP == When it arrives, please be warned that THIS IS VERY HEAVY (about 77 pounds). This may be a two-person job, especially if you're going to be setting up the unit on a 2nd/3rd floor of your house. Once you have the box in the same room you want the unit to be installed, Frigidaire made packaging a HUGE relief: just cut the plastic ties and the box can be lifted up from the base. No need to open the box from the bottom or try to lift the unit from the top of the box. Thank you Frigidaire! You will want to take a couple measurements of the window you're going to use for the exhaust vent. Depending on the shape/dimensions/style of your window, you can install the exhaust panel in either a vertical or horizontal position. The panel can be cut if needed, but some screws are included to prevent the sliding panel from moving once installed. Frigidaire includes some foam padding strips with adhesive, which will go between your window and the vent panel. This is great for making sure the vent panel doesn't scratch anything and will help with closing any gaps. The air intake is on the back (which is also where the filter is located), so try to avoid placing the AC unit in front of curtains, since they can/will block the airflow which can put stress on the unit (potentially damaging it). == DAILY USE == I have a very old house and the 2nd floor is always much hotter in the summer, so this is an AMAZING solution (and much cheaper than paying for new/updated ventilation). You will notice a difference within moments of turning on the AC unit. The included remote is a nice accessory, but I personally don't use it on a regular basis. For me, I just setup a schedule to run the AC during the day and then turn off at night (just before I usually go to bed). The sound is very noticeable, but I wouldn't call it "loud". Other competitor, or older units, are much louder. I can still go to sleep with the AC unit on, even when it's just outside my bedroom. This particular unit is rated for cooling a space of less than 450 square feet, so while it's great for my situation, make sure you take some measurements of where you plan to use it first. == MAINTENANCE == The air filter on the back is very easy to access. It's not disposable (thank you, Frigidaire), so you can use a damp cloth to clean it as needed. I haven't had it long enough to gauge how often it needs to be cleaned, but even if you want to clean it once a week, it should only take a couple minutes. Frigidaire includes a metal bracket that you can screw into your window frame to keep the vent panel from moving, but due to the design of my old windows, it's not necessary. If you don't mind putting a couple holes into your window frame, just know you'll need to do this every year. If you are going to use this as a dehumidifier, you'll need to be mindful of disposing the water that's collected. In the included manual, Frigidaire shows that you can attach a hose to the drain outlet on the back of the unit. == BOTTOM LINE == I really love this as a solution to my old house to keep the 2nd floor nice and cool. This is a great, simple solution that doesn't require hiring someone to permanently install a wall/ceiling AC unit. The wheels make it easy to move around so you can just push it into a closet for the winter, and wheel it back out in late spring.

Bought this air conditioner after 2 weeks the light came up saying clean dust filter I did and put stuff back toy and the light still there no matter how I open and check on filter it’s still saying that and there is no dust on filter worst buy ever and it’s so expensive… please look at other brand this brand is the worst to buy

This is a very great addition for our home, especially in the hot summer days here in Southern California. We normally use table and stand up fans in our kitchen area and never thought about bringing in a portable air conditioner. Now, as it gets really warm in this area and when we cook, gets even warmer. That is until now. The Frigidaire 3-in-1 portable room air conditioner really does what we needed in the kitchen area. At first we were intimidated by the size of the box. We were relieved at how light it was out of the box and knew installation would not be too difficult. The installation is not that hard, very easy for any handyman or lay person. It took me at least an hour and that included the preparation of the area where the unit had to be installed. The unit came with all the necessary materials needed for the installation. Once installed and turned on, I was amazed that it is very quiet while in operation. i would recommend this very well for homes where there is no central A/C. The unit has casters so it’s mobile, you can move it easily around the home. Unfortunately, there are No Apps but it has a remote control that makes it easier for you to operate without going to the unit. Where the Frigidaire really shines is the 3-In-1 mode: it is a multi speed fan with dehumidifying dry mode, a Clean Air Ionizer and AC mode. The dehumidifier works well especially when I don’t want to much moisture in the kitchen, while being able to ionize the air, and cooling the air. It’s supposed to cool a room up to 450sq feet which is more than enough for our kitchen. Overall this is a great addition and does the job really well. I wished it was more “smart” capable but the added remote is a good to have.

About to make one year and going through warranty to see what they could do it makes my room hot not cold and it’s brand new got it last year at the end of summer in August worked alright not the best best like I see some reviews they say it gets super frozen the room and it’s lies I wish my room got super cold from this ac man.

One of the wheels was crushed in the package, will not stand up

I ordered this soecific one because under specifications, its says recommended room size 450 sq ft. Received the box today, and it says only cools up to 250 sq ft. Super disappointing. 250 sq ft is much too small, so it looks like I will be returning it.

Have this unit setup in my garage but it doesn't cool well at all. I am planning to get a split system instead.

Omg. This portable AC unit came in time. It has been sweltering here on Los Angeles this past week. It has been hitting nearly 90 degrees and high humidity outside and in the house it is hitting 87 plus degrees. Currently work allows me to have a hybrid schedule and my office space is upstairs and it is absolutely hot as heck upstairs. Anyway enough of my current heat situation. This portable AC is great... Item arranged a bit banged up but it survived the trip from across the country with it's packaging. Setup was a snap. It came with everything needed. The window shroud was easy to install. It came with a unique grill to prevent anything from entering the exhaust vent if you don't have a screen to protect the exhaust. I thought this was neat. The exhaust snapped into the shroud and lock in place well. Other brands don't have this and the vent falls constantly if you accidentally bump it. Operation is easy. It comes with a remote that controls everything. It is much quieter than other brands when the compressor kicks in. Which is great because when I am on meetings it does not cause for distraction. Remote was easy to use. Point and click. One nice feature is the oscillating function. In a 500 square foot room it took about 2 hour to cool down from 90 degrees to about 78 degrees and it kept on dropping it to 5he 71 degree setting that I put it on. The convenience of it being portable, easy to setup, ease to operate, low noise, I think this is a great buy. Especially with the rise in temperatures around the US these past years. I have owned many Frigidaire appliances and AC and refrigerators are their go to appliances. I would recommend this product for those reasons. Good job Frigidaire.

Got it cause online said it was for rooms up to 450 feet, when throwing box out relized it was for rooms 250 feet, fould get same size much cheaper

This portable ac is great to keep your room cooler during this hot summers, I had tried windows units in the past but they look horrible hanging on the windows, I also have central ac but takes to long to cool my whole house, so I installed this Frigidaire portable ac on my room and it’s the best thing to keep room cooler. The installation was easy but a little bulky for a small room, I had to cut a little piece of the window kit to be able to fit on my room window. This unit covers at least 450 sq. Ft, 10,000 BTU ( ASHRAE), 6,500 BTU( DOE) perfect for my master bedroom. One of the greatest feature on this unit is that it is 3-1, dehumidifying dry mode, multi speed fan and built air ionizer, also has an auto swing air circulation setting. The unit is as quiet as a pedestal fan so to me that’s not a problem ( 40-50dBA). Comes with a washable filter and it also let you know when it needs to be clean, that’s a plus. Even though it’s a portable ac and comes with wheels to move around, the only issue to me is that after you set the window kit with the screws, it will be to much to move to another room, unless you set another window kit in another room( recommended). I set my Frigidaire unit to 75° and it cools my room quickly, can’t complain. Great portable ac!

Arrived damaged. It is hassel to return it. And they do not have it availavle for replacement at the store.

I have a central A/C in my Florida home, and the purpose of this unit is to help cool down a room in which the central A/C doesn’t cool that much, and the portable unit also serves for when there is a power outage (e.g., after a major storm). Before turning the unit on, allow it to sit upright for a couple of hours to let its liquid settle in the right place, not into the compressor. This must be done especially after transport since the unit could have tipped on its side and shifted the liquids. Doing this will make the unit work more efficiently, avoid damage, and prolong its working life. The provided insert to connect the hot air hose to the window works for many types of windows. This part requires some work to make sure there is an airtight seal. If there is a gap(s), you will have hot air and maybe bugs coming into your home. I live in Florida, so I usually leave it in the Cool mode, which allows any fan speed, desired temperature, and no drain hose is needed. To better disburse the cool air, always maintain the swing feature. In dry mode, you can’t change the temperature or the fan speed in this setting. Also, you will need to use the drain hose (included in the kit) since the unit will remove moisture from the room. So note that since dry mode removes moisture from a room, it acts similarly to a dehumidifier. For example, I use Dry mode in my laundry room, walk-in closet, or bathrooms because these tend to have humidity issues. Fan mode is straightforward, it’s just a fan with the fan speed regulated, and the panel shows the room temp. The air exhaust and drain hose aren’t required for fan mode. Comparing this portable A/C to a similar unit, it does a great job cooling a room with minimal noise, very quiet. Of course, a higher fan speed will make more noise than a slow speed, but the unit is an acceptable noise level even at high speed. The sleep features set the fan speed to auto, the temp increases by 2 degrees every 30 minutes, stays active for 7 hours, and the control panel lights are dimmed for better sleep. The remote looks like a legacy/antique control, but it does function properly. To conclude, I am glad I got this unit to help cool a room, and it serves as an emergency for prolonged power outages.

Bought the unit ~2 years ago @BJs when it was on sale. Use it in the bedroom ~15’x15’. It was heavy to load & carry from the warehouse. Set up was OK. Not meant for small windows. It works but it’s Loud as heck. The manual is a joke & doesn’t explain things simply. Sleep Mode is a joke as does Not quiet the unit. The Auto function isn’t intuitive like other brands’ units to know if the AC is working at optimum efficiency. The remote has a slight delay in sending the signals to the unit. Just make sure you set the temperature to a very low setting to feel the coldness. The L shape bracket was missing; it’s used to keep the window locked down after the window sill is pulled down to hold the exhaust window exhaust portion. Remember to have a bucket available for the drainage pipe, which is too short. There is NO ECO MODE to save on energy! Overall, it works & does cool the room down but it’s noisy as heck & not meant to be used overnight while sleeping. Use a hose cover to insulate the hose so the AC doesn’t work too hard in cooling down the room. The single vent unit isn’t very energy efficient; BTUs: 6,500/10,000= 65%. Consider paying more for a dual vent unit which is.

Our AC broke down on us during the hottest part of the summer. We knew that it was going to take 30+ days before we had the means to have our AC repaired. This was our first time purchasing / using a portable AC in our home and we had some reservations. To our surprise we place this portable AC on our 1st floor in our living room and it kept the entire first floor in our home super cold! Whatever temperature setting we had it on it would adjust the temperature in our home on the 1st floor to that exact temperature all the way down to approximately 60% F! We used every feature & they all worked as advertised. The only time you need to put the included hose on the back of the unit to drain water pulled out of the air is when you have it on the dehumidifier mode. I would suggest replacing the included hose with a longer hose so that you can run it from the unit out through a hole in the window kit. Otherwise when you use the dehumidifier mode you will need to have a large bucket next to your portable AC unit so that it has a place to drain the water pulled from your air. It can fill up a large bucket in a few days when using dehumidifier mode which is why I suggest running it out your window. My only complaint would have to be the window kit. In order to make the exhaust tubing stay connected to the window kit you must take a power drill and screw the included builds through the end of the exhaust tubing to the window kit otherwise it can easily fall out and leak hot air back into your home if you simply try to place it on the window kit with tape. There are other units out there that allows the exhaust hose to simply click into the window kit with your hands however this unit does not. Other than that I would absolutely recommend this unit to anyone looking to cool 1 flirt in their home. BTW my 1st floor is approximately 1000 SF. If you have more than one floor or if you have one floor larger than 1000SF that your looking to keep cool you will need 2 of this units one for each floor.
