These are typical air conditioner sounds; "gurgling or hissing" noises may be heard during normal operation due to refrigerant passing through the evaporator. The fan at the front of the unit may provide the sound of rushing air. During normal operation, water droplets hitting the condenser may produce "pinging or swishing" sounds. Furthermore, high-pitched chatter may occur throughout the cooling cycle with today's high-efficiency compressors. The unit may have a 3-minute delay to protect the compressor before starting. Room temperature below 60°F (16°C). Cooling may not occur until the room temperature rises above 60°F (16°C).
