I'm very close to giving this a 5 star review. Unfortunately, I had to go through three different refrigerators of this model before I got an acceptable one. The first two fridges were delivered, and both were delivered with very noticeable damages - both physically and when running. The first one delivered was damaged on the corners and the back of the unit, and when plugged in it would be a very loud humming noise when it was running - so loud that you could hear it on the second level of our home (it's placed on the main/first level). The second had very noticeable damages and I did not take the time to plug it in to find out more - I was not going to risk going through the e same thing. The handling of them were quite careless, and that was obvious. I don't know if this was Frigidaire, Best Buy, or UPS...but, I was disappointed. This forced me to return BOTH fridges to a physical store, since packaging and arranging for pickup was nearly impossible (the packaging of the item by Frigidaire, admittedly, was very good - so good I could not replicate it for it to be picked up). Only when there was a the same refrigerator physically in-stock at a store was I able to secure one with no damages. Unfortunately, I had to travel over an hour each way to the store to pick it up - and I have two other Best Buy stores, both within 15 minutes of my home. Neither of them had this model in stock. I've had it up and running for close to a month. It is so quiet you can barely notice it running. The dual zone is a very, very nice feature. I have not done tests of my own to measure the accuracy of the temperature, but we did open a bottle of white wine the other night and it was chilled very nicely, exactly to our liking. A slight drawback is the design of of the drawers. You might be able to get 38 bottles of the standard wine bottle shapes in this refrigerator. As most will know - not all wine bottles take the standard shape, and a lot take on very different shapes. We've been able to fit about 15-20 bottles in of different shapes and sizes, which is nice. I'm not sure I can imagine a scenario where we would need 38 bottles stored at one time. Even fitting the 15-20 bottles, we will have to lift up the drawer above or below the one we're pulling from just to be able to take it out. A little more height to the unit would do wonders. Through this all, I must say the customer service has been OUTSTANDING. They've been very understanding and very helpful. They've offered credits for the hassle I've had to experience. They called the store for me to make sure they had this item in stock, check it for damages, and put it aside for me to pick up so no one would claim it. Best Buy seems to be turning a corner with their customer service and taking care of their customers. This is greatly appreciated, and is a huge factor when I make future purchasing decisions. I did buy the extended warranty plan with this purchase - just because of my experience with the first to refrigerators shipped. It gives me some peace of mind in the event something happens or fails in the next couple of years...

Only Good for Standard Sized Wine Bottle - Caution

Starting off, I really like this unit bang for buck, however, ran into 2 issues. First is delivery issue and second is design flaw so to speak. I ordered this online and both units came damaged, so I am working on getting my 3rd one, except I'll go pick this up at the store vs UPS shipping. I think it is well packed, but both units were trashed upon arrival with major concealed damage - my suggestion, do a pickup at store. But this is not why I am giving 2 stars. If you have standard 750ml wine bottles, you are in business. This cooler WILL NOT hold a Syrah or Pinot Noir bottle (bulbous bottom style), nor will it hold a high end Cab in a thicker glass bottle or taller red wine bottle. Don't even think of putting champagne or a magnum of any type as you will be removing shelves and stacking bottles on top of each other. I am not a wine snob and don't buy $100 bottles, but something as simple as a $34 bottle of Hess Cabernet in a taller bottle won't fit between the shelves (too tight) or the depth (too long). There is more room up top and I thought I would flip the temps and put reds up top (to hold the big bottles) and whites down below but you cannot do that either as the unit will not allow temps to match up. Whites have to go on top and Reds on the bottom. I read the reviews before buying and nobody has mentioned this, so hopefully this helps you decide.

A wine cooler should maintain temperatures in a very defined range, selected by the owner. It should provide a clean and odor free environment to house wine while hopefully running with little noise. This Frigidaire accomplishes only one objective, it runs with minimal noise. When you dial in the upper and lower temperatures, the best I can say is that the upper will be cooler than the lower storage areas. I have checked this unit many times with wired temperature gauges and IR guns. It can easily be off more the 5F from setting. The temperature can vary up to 10F from setting. So if you set the upper temperature to 55F, my unit will likely settle around 50F and cycle between 45 to 55F. Wine breaths in a bottle. As temperature cycles, air moves in and out of a bottle. If the storage area contains noticeable aromas, this will eventually affect the wine in the bottle. The Frigidaire came with a plastic/ ammonia odor. I cleaned the entire surface of the unit and placed a box of baking soda inside to absorb odors. Unfortunately, there is still residual odors. I purchased this unit solely to provide short term storage for wines that I plan to drink in the next few months. In this regard, some temperature cycling is acceptable, but not odors. I will try activated charcoal to eliminate odors. If you are looking for a storage unit to save wines for a few months this unit might work for you. If you are looking for long term storage, this cooler is in no way qualified.

I bought this for my husband for Christmas and surprised him with it. First I would like to say, Best Buy workers SHOULD NOT shove products into a car that doesn't fit. I offered to go home and get a bigger car and he insisted on shoving it through my back seat door which was a nightmare and didn't fit in or out of my doors. With that, the staples on the box scraped off paint on the inside of my door and broke the seal around the bottom of the door. HIGHLY disappointed and didn't even notice until I got home. PLEASE listen to your customers, it shouldn't matter "how busy ya'll were" for the holidays, I should've been allowed to get a bigger car instead of the employee ruining my paint and seal on my door. Besides that, the product itself. It looks great, it ended up fitting perfect in a corner of our office and my husband loves the look of it. His only complaints are that it gets colder in both sections than what we set the temperature at. Which we hoped to store beer brewing kegs in the bottom portion to keep them cool enough, so it makes it difficult since we need it at a direct certain temperature that we set and it always ends up being too cold. The next complaint is that the shelves are built only to fit the size of a standard skinny wine bottle. We have several big bottomed wine bottles that only fit on the third shelf down and still it protrudes the shelf above it since the space isn't wide enough. You can only put the wider bottles in certain spots usually on the outer edges, definitely not on the top shelf at all. Just makes it a little inconvenient since we keep having to reorganize.

I ordered this unit and then discovered that Best Buy had shipped it via UPS without telling me. I called and explained that UPS doesn't allow for an appointment or inspection of the unit upon receipt and that I'd assumed they'd use a local delivery service. Too bad.... nothing can be done. Then the pkg arrives, I unpack it and there's a dent/crease in the top and one of the legs is bent. Damage that clearly occurred prior to shipping. I contact Best Buy. They ship a new unit. They tell me to repack the old unit and that UPS will pick it up. I repack as best possible and two days later I still have yet to receive the emailed UPS label. I've called and emailed to get a new label...and they can't seem to provide one. And the new pkg? It was shipped signature required (tough to do, I have a job) because somehow by signing for it, I'll be confirming that it's not damaged inside of the box? Or is UPS going to change their policy, take the box up into my apt building and stay with me while I unpack it? My favorite part to date has been the suggestion of the Best Buy operator that I return the appliance to a local store and pick up a new one. Of course, if it fit in my car, I would never have ordered it for delivery.... Anyway, good luck buying from Best Buy. If I ever actually receive a working and undamaged unit, I'll gladly update my review.

Getting this unit was such an issue. The one that was delivered was completely destroyed. Dented in corners etc. Once I got a new one, it was easy to set up. Now to the product itself. Biggest flaw - dual zone, not so much. There is no real separation between the top zone for which is cooler and for whites/champagne, and the bottom zone for reds which is warmer. So in turn the whole fridge basically is a blend of the 2 zones. The red bottles feel to the touch a little colder than I would prefer. My 2nd issue is the shelves. While fairly sturdy, I don't like how they do not glide out easily. I have found that I have had to remove bottles before I can pull the shelf out, which defeats the purpose. Also, these shelves are made for standard 750mL size bottles, anything larger will be very difficult to fit, or won't fit. I removed the middle shelf from the top zone to put several champagne bottles. The 2 major pros I can think of is that it isn't loud, and that it has a lock.....those 2 aren't saying much. It just does an average job I feel and doesn't look bad. It all comes down to what you are looking for. If you don't want to spend a lot of money, this isn't a bad unit to start out with. If you have many higher end wines, I would recommend spending more for a better fridge with a defined dual zones.

This is our first wine cooler and we're happy with it, especially considering the price. You can spend as much as you want on a wine cooler, the prices can be astronomical. This is a very reasonably priced machine. We were looking for an affordable dual zone cooler that held at least 3 cases... check. We wanted to spend less than $500... check. We wanted a known brand... check. The machine works well, it's very quiet. You can hear the compressor kick on of you are in the same room, but it's not anywhere near as loud as the refrigerator. The temperature zones work perfectly. Be prepared, the shelves are not built to slide in and out easily, you need to pull the bottles out individually. The shelves lock in place in the back and when bottles are placed on them, you can't really pull them out. With that one caveat, this wine cooler is outstanding for the price.

I searched all over the internet looking for a wine fridge to hold at least 30 bottles of wine and this is the one that I kept coming back to. There are lots of super expensive units, but I was looking for one that was affordable, low maintenance, held its temperature accurately and was quiet. This unit met all those criteria. My first one I now have for about 1 month and it's very quiet and doing it's job. I would definitely recommend putting it someplace out of direct or even indirect sunlight. I have found this keeps everything working smoother for you don't have the outside heat (sun/light) keeping the fridge system cycling to maintain temperature. The only difficulty I've had with the unit is fitting larger bottles into it without having to remove several shelves. If you tend to go towards normal size bottles (not magnums) should you be able to fit over 30 bottles comfortably in the unit. We've come to like it so much we bought another one for my wife's office... she likes wine, just doesn't drink while working ;)

Wine Cooler worked for about 6 months. Then door seal failed and cooler froze up. Wine had ice around the base of around ten bottles. Three shelves were warped from water damage and two had a good deal of mold on them. My wife called customer service on several occassions. First contact, she was told that it would be replaced. Second call she was told that they would not replace it rather they would repair it. Then when my wife asked about the moldy shelves, she was told they don't stock replacement shelves and that they would not replace them. Then when my wife was still asking questions and complaining about the unit, the customer service rep sent her to a survey line mid sentence, basically the rep hung up on her. Needless to say, we will be discarding the useless unit and going down a different path..

I read a huge number of reviews from buyers of wine coolers before making this purchase. My goals were as follows: 1. Two-zone cooler; 2. Low 40-degree to mid 50-degree temperature zone variation; 3. Reasonable price - hopefully under $500, all in; 4. Nothing reported as being chronically wrong with the wine cooler in the buyer's reviews; I bought the Frigidaire wine cooler from Best Buy specifically because the price was good and the Frigidaire brand has a good reputation, this cooler houses 38 bottles, it met all my requirements BUT most especially, I could buy 5 years of Geek coverage for a reasonable price that would "repair or replace" the unit if some of those things mentioned in the reviews actually happened to my unit. Best Buy is the only retailer who offers this totally dependable aspect of service reliability. Nothing lasts forever so best to be prepared for failure. I'm happy that I found the best of all worlds.

nice looking unit and seems to perform the basic function of chilling wine, but the ease of use/engineering leaves something to be desired. The shelves do not slide when loaded. They are too close together to slide the wine bottles in easily. The top shelf of the lower section, which is for red wine, does not fit most red wine bottles, so I had to take the shelf out just to use the space. The rack at the bottom is also too narrow to slide in bottles so I took it out too. Really frustrating!! Unit works, but functionality is not good. At less than $400 it is ok and still way less than the high end units, but beware, it doesn't work as good as it looks.

This unit performs well. However, it does not seem to take into account that many wine bottles share many different shapes. A standard Cabernet/Bordeaux bottle fits just fine in most cases, but wider sparkling bottles and Burgundy-style bottles such as those used for Chardonnay and Pinot Noir often do not fit well onto the shelves due to shelf clearance and slat layout. The stated bottle capacity will never be achievable unless using slimmer identical bottles. I have a mix of bottle types, and 25 bottles is about my max even when forcing them to fit. Also, this unit arrived with multiple dents on the case. I must give Best Buy credit, however, for giving me an impressive partial credit refund of the purchase price due to the damage.

My fiance' has wanted a really nice wine cooler for a long time, and so have I. For her birthday I surprised her with this gem! She loves it as do I. The temperature options are perfect and the temperature is very stable, no fluctuation from our desired settings. There truly is room for 38 wine bottles and space at the very bottom for some larger bottles. We love the stained wood pull-out shelves and size of this cooler. It doesn't take up much space at all and looks extremely nice with the stainless steel shine. The price was great compared to the 50 other coolers I researched and reviewed. This brand is very reputable and this cooler is another great example of why. Thank you!

This Fridge looks great, and it was way cheaper than most other wine fridges with this capacity. However, the space in between the shelves is a little bit narrow, so wider pinot noir bottles don't fit very well. Most of my bottles I kind of have to shove in there but they fit. It just took a while to build up confidence that I wasn't going to break anything. Also, I'm not really sure what to make of the wood shelf on the bottom. The bottom space is not as deep, and the shelves seem even narrower. I ended up just taking out the bottom shelf and fitting my wider bottles down there. I've looked a bit online but I can't really find any explanation of what you are supposed to do with the bottom shelf. All in all, I'm satisfied with the product so far. After taking out the bottom shelf, I've managed to fit 39 bottles, 1 more than advertised!

This unit replaces a Vassani unit that failed after two years of operation. FYI, a 5 year parts only warranty does you no good if the labor costs nearly equal the cost of a new unit. The Frigidaire unit has two sections with independent temperature controls. The default temps of 59 and 46 were within 2 degrees as measured with a probe. If all your wine is in standard bottles, there will be no problem with fitting them in. If you have larger bottles, you will have to adjust the shelving or remove one accordingly. As for the bottle height complaint, that only applies to the bottom two shelves which have the cooling unit in the rear restricting height. All the other shelves allow bottles about 4-5 inches taller. Two other nice features are a simple hex lock at the bottom to prevent unauthorized access, and an alarm that sound after 5 minutes if the door is left open.

"Problem: Boiling or gurgling sound, like water boiling." From the troubleshooting part of the care manual. "Cause: Refrigerant is circulating throughout the system." I definitely would not have bought this unit if I had known this ahead of time. My previous wine cooler from another manufacturer lasted about 15 years and was completely silent. Not the case with this unit, which boils and gurgles consistently, annoying and loud enough to be heard faintly in the next room. This unit was placed in an open space in a long wall cabinet right across from my dining room table, where it will boil and gurgle all through dinner so my guests can ask who the manufacturer is and hopefully not make the same mistake in buying it. IMO it's a significant design defect.

I loved the look of this wine fridge and liked that it had dual zones. But when I got it home I was sad to find out that it didn't fit the wine bottles like I'd hoped. The shelves are too close together to fit anything other than your standard bordeaux style wine bottles. My Chardonnay bottles which are slightly larger at the base wouldn't fit without lifting up the shelf above , but that doesn't work when that shelf has wine bottles on it. I also didnt like that once you filled a shelf with wine bottles, there's no way to see the varietals at the back without unloading the bottles in front of it. I was hoping you'd be able to pull the shelves out to get to the back bottles. Was really disappointed in this fridge!

I chose this wine cooler over other similarly priced options because of the wooden shelving. If you've ever owned a small wine cooler then you know how frustrating it can be getting wine bottles in and out of plastic shelving - many a label gets trashed in the attempt. The wooden shelves in this cooler are sturdy enough and are reasonably flexible too, making it easier to load and unload all but the widest of bottles. I also like that this model has two cooling zones, at this price point that is a huge plus. It is a nice looking cooler on the inside and out. The only thing I do not like - hence 4 and not 5 stars - is the fact that the bottom shelf only accommodates bottles placed sideways. The unit operates quietly and efficiently.

This is an extremely nice looking unit and seems well made. We purchased one in store since some said deliveries were dented. The shelving is higher quality than our last one and the lighting inside looks wonderful for parties. It served our needs well. While it doesn’t hold regular wine bottles, much less champagne, without removing a shelf or two, that worked fine. We also keep soda, beer and bottled water in the lower section. I don’t think any of these units are perfect but for the low noise, sleek (high-quality) look and the consistency of the cooling and maintaining of temperature - this one gets my vote. We’re very happy with it.

I love how the wine cooler looks in my kitchen. The price is well below any others that hold a decent amount of wine and I chose it because of the Frigidaire name. I read the other reviews so I chose to pick it up and not have it shipped. It fit in the back of my SUV and with two people it was very easy. Other reviewers mentioned big bottles not fitting but you definitely can learn to maximize space. I have 37 bottles in now and it’s full. Could I squeeze more... probably some rieslings. The temperature stays perfect and I love the dual zone temperature setting. The noise seems very subtle to me and you have to be next to it to hear it. I would recommend buying. After two months of using it’s been a great purchase so far.
