Customers consistently note the 3–in-1 Portable Room Air Conditioner's excellent cooling performance and ease of installation. Many appreciate its user-friendly features, including the remote control, while some find the unit heavy and the exhaust hose prone to issues. Noise level is another area where opinions diverge, with some users finding it acceptable and others noting it can be quite loud. Overall, the air conditioner receives positive feedback for its cooling capabilities but also draws criticism for certain aspects of its design and functionality.

Extremely disappointed. Hours on the phone trying g to get a discount on it’s since I now need 2 of these. Hung up on multiple times! Online states 550 sq ft is the recommended space. Completely untrue as box states maximum of 350 sq ft. $470 sale price is far too expensive for one room. Customer service and support is extremely poor. No one has contacted me back.

Air conditioner arrived damaged. A fail for Best Buy. When I contacted store and showed pics of the damage in transit. The manager told me I'd have to purchase another one when they told me at first that they would ship to store and pick up damaged one and deliver replacement same day without me paying for another one up front and pieces return same day

Works Well, But Know It’s Limits
TLDR; Capable of cooling a room up to 550 square feet. The 3 modes are cooling, dehumidifier and fan-only. It has 3 fan speeds (low, med, high) but can be set to Auto to automatically control speeds based on temperature setting vs actual ambient temp. Has built-in air ionizer to reduce airborne particles. Dust filter can be removed and washed. Has wheels for easy portability and weighs 63lbs when you need to carry it upstairs.
After a few days of testing, the Frigidaire 3-n-1 Portable Air Conditioner, model FHPC102AC1, was more than capable of cooling a large area of my room. I have a section of my home where the family room and the kitchen share an open area, and I placed the unit right in the middle. Conveniently, there is a window that is in between the two sections and it was an easy task to assemble and hook up the vent to this. Yes, ladies and gents, you’ll need to vent this AC unit in order for it to be fully efficient. As it cools air and feeds it into your home, it is also expelling hot air. Having set on Auto at 72 degrees, the Frigidaire is able to keep this area cool and comfortable.
Using the unit is very simple. It has tactile buttons on the face of the unit, yet is integrated to the panel so that dust and moisture doesn’t get into it. It has a swinging flap that distributes air more evenly, but can be turned off if you choose. There are buttons that enable the swinging flap, select mode (Cool, Dry, Fan), select fan speeds and turn on/off the unit. If you intend to use Wifi, there is a Wifi button that allows you to pair with the Frigidaire app. Finally, there are indicators to remind you to replace the air filter as well as clean off the dust filter, and corresponding buttons to reset their indicators.
By far the biggest selling point for this unit is its Wifi integration. Wifi integration means that as long as the AC unit is connected to your Wifi at home, you’ll be able to control it from anywhere. So think of those times when you maybe forgot to turn on the AC, or even forgot to turn it off. You can also control temperature, mode and fan speeds much like you can from the unit itself. From here, you can also set schedules for when you want the unit to be on and off, and at what temperature/mode/fan speed.
Obviously the reason you would buy a unit like this is for its portability. I currently live in a home with central AC, but I don’t really need to cool the entire house. With this unit, I can just have it running in the master bedroom to keep myself feeling comfortable throughout the evening during the summer nights. This ultimately uses less energy vs running the central AC.
One drawback from this unit is the amount of noise it creates, especially in Cooling mode. Even at the lowest fan setting, the compressor still can generate a good amount of noise, so watching a movie, listening to music or having a normal conversation can be a tiny bit challenging with this thing close by. But in its defense, all other AC units kind of share the same fate. Running it in fan mode is by far the quietest you can get it.
As far as performance and energy use, it doesn’t take long for the AC to cool any room within its capabilities. The output fan pushes a lot of cold air into the room as it tries to achieve your desired temperature. Once the temperature is met, the compressor shuts off and the AC will begin to slowly taper off its fan and eventually shut off. Depending on how insulated your home is, that may happen many times throughout the day and is typical for a unit to do this. Just remember, whenever it goes idle for those few minutes, it’s not using any electricity.
Finally, there’s maintenance; almost every portable AC has a drain plug to remove excess condensation, preferably done before storage. This should be done to avoid mold and bacteria growth within the unit and the obvious overflowing of liquid out of the internal pan. Maybe once a month is reasonable to check as I didn’t really catch how often you were supposed to do this in the manual.
Some things to consider: 550 sq ft (a 22 ft x 25 ft area, for example) does not account for ceiling height, or essentially cubic feet. A typical home may have a 7-10 feet ceiling height, which I think would be the nominal height for a ceiling, but there are some homes with vaulted ceilings and will reduce your overall square footage coverage. Also 550 sq ft assumes an area that is sealed (windows are closed, has doors closed from other rooms). Even if you have an area of your home that is 550 sq ft in size, if you have adjacent rooms with no doors, the energy will just dissipate into the other room(s) and your AC will have to work much harder to cool it down to your desired temperature. Think of this like driving in your car with the AC on, but you have your windows open. I guess what I’m trying to say is that the Frigidaire can get the job done easily, but you’ll need to help it do its job. Finally, the AC unit draws a lot of energy, between 11-13 amps. A lot of homes have 15 amp circuit breakers and if you plug this in that circuit along with a computer or other devices sharing the circuit, the breaker will trip.

This Frigidaire portable air conditioner is an excellent value for the level of performance it brings! The unit comes securely packaged in sturdy foam, with the unpacking instructions on top of the unit itself, not stuffed into the box somewhere. This makes it incredibly easy to find the unboxing and setup instructions, instead of digging for them amongst the foam, cardboard, and plastic inside the box. The guide walks your through the steps needed to get your new portable air conditioner setup and running in a traditional mode first, then instructs you to download the Frigidaire app, complete with a picture of the app logo to avoid confusion with the other Frigidaire apps in the marketplace. The traditional mode is very easy to operate, buttons on top of the unit are easy to understand and offer full functionality of the unit with a clear LED display, the remote is easy to read and offers the same functionality as the buttons on the unit but also will "update" the unit if you make changes that weren't registered via the IR commands prior. The cooling performance is very nice, keeping our second floor nice and cool, or at least closer to the first floor, and it is quieter than many of the competitors we had tried! The app is really the only downside I've experienced, with getting the unit to recognize the Wi-Fi network being the most challenging part. The app is not a critical part of the unit, but it is very nice once you're able to get it working, especially to remotely operate the unit when returning home from a vacation or trip!
The multiple day excursion of trying to get the Frigidaire app and the portable AC unit working together is the only reason I am rating this 4/5, everything else is wonderfully easy to use and I'd still recommend it to my friends!

Not a good sign when you open a brand new $500 AC with a broken wheel, if you're willing to spend that type of money I would expect for it to come completly intact and not have to return it and wait for it to be shipped to the store over a wheel... I'd stay away from this and buy something of quality.

This Portable A/C is amazing!! It has not given me any issues , the app is a great plus and easy to use. I have a scheduled time for the A/C to turn on and turn off which is a great feature. Makes things so much simpler for me. The A/C cools soo well my room is very big and it gets real cold with this A/C. It’s doesn’t take up to much space in my room and I love that I can move it around. Definitely recommend this purchase for anyone looking for a portable A/C.

1) Usability - The touch panel controls are easy to understand for a new user and the remote control is just as intuitive. The only ding would be there is no place to store the remote, so there is a good chance it would end up getting misplaced during use (especially in a family environment) or during storage. The caster wheels make it easy to move around - even on the low-shag carpet in my home. Given the design of the window vent, a sliding adjustment for the hose would greatly enhance it's flexibility. You cannot simply flip the vent over due to the tab on top. Hose/connecter assembly could be better as well. The end connector for the AC came off during setup. Yes, it could be screwed back on with some effort, but Not everyone will try to do that as an initial reaction.
2) Functionality - The unit does put out the cold air! I'll give this section a lot of grace as the room I used it in turns out to be a bit larger than spec (miscalculated my ceiling height when working out the volume). That said, it performed admirably! Word of advice to potential buyers - double check your living space before purchase! The noise lever was not that bad in my opinion. I have another (albeit older) portable unit and that older unit is noticeably louder in comparison
3) Connectivity - This is where I give the Frigidaire products a big D- and loss of two stars! While Alexa and Google Home is supported, there is no current support (as of this review) for neither IFTTT, Apple Homekit, nor Home Assistant. Adding support for these platforms will surely increase product popularity. Not everyone wants to be indoctrinated into either Google or Amazon empires (or Apple for that matter), and not everyone wants to have to have an app for EVERY IoT device tracking their personal info through their cellphone. Speaking of the app, pairing was not without hiccups. It took a few attempts to complete. At first, I discovered that some of my network security was interfering with putting it on the network. However, even after moving to a fully open network, it still took a couple of time to fully complete the pairing process.
4) Durability - Well, too early to tell. I just bought it. I may update this review at a later date on the outcome.
Bottom-line: Good product for either a non IoT user or a user who uses either Alexa or Google Home for automation. Would consider this a great product if a more flexible window vent design and hose connections are made available. Would consider this an outstanding product if every thing I mentioned before AND support for Home Assistant, Apple Homekit, and IFTTT is implemented.

This portable unit works very well. It is quiet. It cools our 20x25 upstairs room nicely. The scheduling feature is very handy. The networking works easily and their app works. The only thing keeping me from giving it 5 stars is I wish it had oscillating air vents. It moves up and down but not side to side. Minor gripe. And it would add complexity and an item to fail. The unit was worth the price.

This Frigidaire three in one portable air conditioner has some really cool features I like the fact that this one is a 12,000 BTU and 8000 DOE so that it can cover more than 500 ft.². Which is what I am using it for to have cool air to my living room which also has raised ceiling. The Wi-Fi connection is a cool feature and we have a Google assistant which allows us to control it remotely with our phones or with the actual remote that it comes with.
I think the hardest part is making sure the exhaust hose fits your window our windows have an opening that is vertical in that horizontal so it makes for an interesting fitment to make sure that no air gets out or comes in from the outside but also make sure that the exhaust air properly goes out so it is not to heat up the inside of the home which is opposite of what we’re trying to do.
This unit is a little larger than others but because it covers so much space I think it’s a perfect size it looks sleek and clean I like the top part that is black which doesn’t show much dirt and you can stored in almost any closet within your home.

I bought 2 of these for my kids’ rooms when my central AC went out in 90 degree weather (the part to fix it had to be ordered). They did a great job of keeping the kids comfortable and able to sleep. I am keeping them since I live in the South, and I think they would prove invaluable in the event of a hurricane since I could hook them to a generator even if it wouldn’t power my larger unit.
However, I did take a star off because I agree with an earlier reviewer. The window kit is terrible! We have standard double hung windows. The exhaust would not attach to the sliding plate because the manufacturer didn’t leave enough room. They also slid out of place. This meant the unit was having to work harder to keep the rooms cold since more air was flowing in from outside. We ultimately had to duct tape them together.

Window Kit is Terrible

This portable AC unit looks nice. It isn't very loud at all. I haven't tried using the wifi features. I just need it to keep my living room cool.
Now, be aware, the window kit for this thing is awful. The vent tube fastens easily to the back of the unit. But the vent tube DOES NOT fasten to the window kit. We had to use small, metal L brackets and drill screws into them to hold the vent tube on the window. It was a major pain!
The instructions from Frigidaire on the window kit were not to be found. The manual doesn't show how to connect the vent tube to the window. It's a real pain.
This AC unit is not really powerful. It will keep a small area nice and cool. If it weren't for the horrible window kit, I would have given this unit 5 stars. It gets the job done for a small area.

We're a few weeks into owning and using this unit. All in all, I have no real complaints, but only a couple of minor gripes. We use it mainly in the afternoon and evening to supplement our normal A/C in our living room when it moves beyond "normal summer hot" into "stupid hot" territory (we're in the desert Southwest). It cools well and blows hard on the higher fan settings.
I gave it four stars as opposed to five mainly for two reasons: 1) it is a bit loud, but not annoyingly so. You just might have to turn the TV up a bit to hear it over the unit when the compressor is cranking full-speed. We have carpet which helps to muffle the sound, but on a hard floor it might be a bit louder. The other minor gripe I have is it took a fair bit of modification to get the vent assembly to mount in our window appropriately. We have a manufactured house, and I recognize you can't make something that will fit everything perfectly, but there was some trimming of plastic, use of dryer duct tape, and some extra foam strips from the hardware store involved in getting it "just right". For someone not particularly handy, it could prove a bit of a challenge depending on your window design, but I wouldn't let that deter you from considering it.
We have very low humidity here, but I didn't want to have to mess with draining the condensation pan, so I rigged the drain tube (included) to simply flow into an empty water bottle. When it gets full, I empty the bottle. No muss, no fuss. You're supposed to place the unit as close to a window as possible, but one trick I figured out is to wrap the hot-air vent tube in a heavy blanket. If you don't, it will radiate heat back into the room, and you're defeating the purpose a bit. I can't speak to the usefulness of the app, because I just use the control panel on the unit when we need it. Time will tell on the long-term reliability of it, but first impressions are positive. It feels well-built, it blows cold, and it does the job. Check back at the end of summer, and we'll see how it goes.

Frigidaire 3-in-1 Portable Air Conditioner works well and cools best over several days. People complain about the window kit, but it's perfect, by my reckoning. If you're a small person, you may need help picking up and/or moving the unit. It's quite heavy and not easy to grip and carry in the box, especially up stairs. It's a quick and easy install. One caveat: Beware of missing parts! Shame on Best Buy Gaithersburg MD for selling me one as brand new, even tho it had been previously opened and cannibalized for its drain hose assembly. Grrrrrrr!

I bought this when the building air died and needed I needed something to keep my office suite cool for about a week. It says that it can cool 550 sq ft. I think that is a bit of an overestimate. That is about the size of the office. I did find that when set to 66 and with an additional fan for circulation, it did keep the office at 70. It was low 80's outside, but it also had to deal with the fact the rest of the building was hot. The unit was easy to set up and the controls are pretty straight-forward. I have been using a Frigidaire dehumidifier in the office for about three years and it still runs fine. That is why I bought the brand.

Its been a full day and honestly we can review within a day because ohio is blazing suns and humidity is dumb so that means this machine is doing its job. We have a window that slides side to side so we questioned how the hose attachment would work.. well it does. Was it a pain? Absolutely! Did we get it to fit snug? So far so good! Our house is built a bit dimwitted so cooling the front half of our house seemed unobtainable. However its chugging right along. To be honest we have a dehumidifier and without one I'm not sure how anyone could hook up the hose to a floor drain unless you live in an old restaurant building. Im not here to judge just asking how folks expect to dehumidify their house with this machine and not have a floor drain?? But youtube is clever and you clever folks will figure it out. All im saying is its on cool its not hot in my house, I'm not sweating any more, my kids are still grouchy but now i know its a personality. Also i made a schedule for the ac on my phone and can tell alexa to turn it on. Cant complain with any first world problems like that. So. Hope it works for you too. Also best buy guy here named herbert was 5 stars as well.
