It did a good job of getting the moisture out of the air in my apartment but it let out way too much heat. I know it needed to release the warm air but it just seemed excessive.

The coils condense or draw moisture from the air, and air flows through the top louvers into the room as dry, warm air. Moisture removed from air is collected in a bucket on the front of the dehumidifier; which is normal.
