    I bought this unit to replace a 15,000 BTU LG unit. According to my square footage, this unit would be better suited for my space than a 15,000 BTU model. The pros are it's running well going into its second season. Certainly struggles quite a bit more than my prior unit to cool, but in fairness, this unit is 3000 less BTU. Remote works well. I like the sleep function and the screen is easy to read. Also, this unit can be used on a 110v line. What I don't like is the fan is still loud, but not as effective as my old unit. This unit lets a lot of light in the room through the vents and the extension flaps. If your room faces east, the sunlight will come in right through the vents in the morning, or in the evening if your unit faces west. I have this unit in my bedroom, and work odd hours and find the light that comes through annoying. Also, this unit would not be good in a theater room due to the amount of light it lets in. Another con is the unit has open vents on the top of the case. That means when it rains, water goes into the unit and will eventually rust it out once certain coatings wear off. No surprise there are no holes in the bottom for the unit to drain the water that can easily pool. The unit maybe well thought out, but certainly not to the advantage of the consumer. The reviews seem solid, so I'm hoping this will last a while.

    Good, but I’ll never buy another open box special

    Best Buy’s website said this open box item was in like new condition and had all its parts. In fact, it was dented and missing a crucial part. Without that part (the top rail), the AC unit could not be installed in the window. I first contacted Best Buy in person. The customer service agent said they had no parts on hand. So I asked her to reach out to the manufacturer. Her response, “Unfortunately, that is not something we would do. That is something you would do.” I’d have returned the item if it didn’t weigh 70 pounds. Instead, I called the manufacturer and asked for the missing part. Frigidaire was excellent to deal with; it promptly sent the part, which arrived in about 10 days. And the AC unit works well. But Best Buy’s behavior has made me swear off open box items, since I cannot trust its evaluation of the item and cannot depend on BB to solve any problem that arises. BB did give me a 10% credit, but I could have paid less if I’d chosen an item that said parts were missing. I wanted what I thought I was purchasing—an AC unit in like new condition with all its parts.

    After sweltering last year during our first summer in our newly-purchased home, my wife and I knew we needed a strong air conditioner for the downstairs (living room, kitchen, and bathroom). Since the insulation is rather lacking (didn't realize that when we bought the place), it's freezing cold in the winter and a sauna in summer. 12,000 BTU was probably a bit of overkill, but even so...this unit is INCREDIBLE! Within a few minutes, we can feel the cold air in the far corner of the kitchen. In fact, if I had any negative comment to make, it's that it works TOO well and can be excessively cold at times. As for the noise level, yeah it's on the louder side, but it doesn't really bother us too much.

    This was a really easy install. They have everything you need to do it yourself. I've had it a few weeks now and the noise is not horrible to me as I have read in other reviews. Seems pretty standard for a fan. My box fans I have had are more loud than this unit. We haven't gotten into the really hot days of summer yet. Only one day at 80. And I know it will get into the upper 90's lower 100's later in the summer. So I will return to give a more up to date review if it lets me. But, so far. The 80 degree days have been more than comfortable. My apartment is 525 sq feet and it sits on the hottest corner of my bldg.

    Overall this air conditioner does what it's advertised to do. The air is cold and covers a long range of distance. Having eco settings allow you to keep the air conditioner on all day while the machine manages itself. The only issue I had was that my unit did not come with the top frame parts to install it into the window. A custom frame had to be made in the window to properly place the air conditioner. Called Best Buy about it and they told me I needed to bring back the entire unit so they can make sure. Couldn't do that because I really had the unit installed and working. Otherwise, I do recommend this product. Most likely you will not be missing the top frame as I was.

    I have had several different window AC units of this size and rough volume capacity over the last decade. This one definitely blows the most cold air and does an excellent job of cooling, while being the second loudest unit I have had. Great for cooling down the room, but, you wouldn't want to sit too close to it for too long. Fits easily into place and has extra padding and such for securing it in and filling gaps. Simple to understand buttons on the face of it, but the remote control is a bit fickle and takes a bit of understanding as to how it works.

    Moved to this 12,000 btu a/c from a 10.000 btu. It cools much better than my 10,000 did. I like the eco mode which actually shuts the unit down when temp is reached and restarts when it starts warming. My negatives are its somewhat loud and the light from outside shines through the white Styrofoam insulation. Black would have been better. All in all a nice unit with many features. including start/stop timer and temp sensor on the remote

    I purchased this AC this past summer when one heat pump zone in my house went out of commission. Eventually the heat pump system was replaced but I had to live without it from May 29th until August 21st. This window unit was a life saver during those weeks. It was easy to install and came with all of the insulating supplies needed to make a good seal around the window that it was installed into. It ran pretty much non stop night and day for those weeks keeping an area of 1400 square feet comfortable enough for my family. I have to give it an excellent rating for working flawlessly that many hours.

    Bought the older 12,000 BTU version of this two years ago for my 26x20 woodworking garage. New one works great in our 16x16 sunroom. Needs this much AC because the side walls are 10’ and then a big pitch up to 16’ vault — made sure to figure that into *cubic foot* rating VS just typical square foot figure. Room has lots of late afternoon exposure. Like that this new one is more efficient. Sound level is pretty low

    I purchased this window air conditioning unit in order to survive what has turned out to be 6 weeks so far of summer heat while my central ac system is being replaced. Installation was a snap and so far after running non stop pumping cold air into an open living area of approximately 1200 sq feet for 6 weeks it is working like a charm. I particularly like the remote sensing unit so that the remote can be set across the room and the thermostat reading taken from that spot. This avoids the unit cutting on and off as frequently as it would if the air temperature was measured directly at the unit.

    Many reviews do point out that the unit is loud, and yes that's true. It is quite loud. BUT... For how quickly it cools down our entire downstairs (it's a small, non-open floor plan house, but the living room is a good size), the noise is bearable. Especially since you probably won't need to keep it running consistently. We had a terrible hot and humid summer up here in NE Pennsylvania, and our house holds in heat like it's a priceless diamond. Even then, we only have to keep the AC running for about 15-20 minutes before it actually gets too COLD!

    I'd give it 4 1/2 stars. Can't give it 5 because I haven't had it long enough but I LOVE it. Had this before. Lasted a long time. Frigidaire seems to make A/C's that last. Pretty quiet too w sounds that give you the white noise. Only complaint thus far is when you 1st turn it on it goes into $Save mode. It needs to go into the Mode you had it in when you shut it off. I don't like it shutting off & on. Besides I think that would age it faster. I got the 12,000 btu which is larger than I need but I LOVE that it doesn't have to work that hard to keep me Cool

    Replaced older window AC units with two of the 12K BTU Frigidaire models. Have been using them for just over a month now and they are keeping my 2200 sq ft log home at about 70 degrees while it has been over 90 for much of this time. Especially like that they have an economy mode that shuts it down until it is needed. Also like the remote sensing feature that uses the remote as a thermostat (note this feature does not work in eco mode you must be in cool mode). Overall great units and highly recommended.

    Great ac fulfilled my expectations for my bedroom. Needed a new one my old unit died last day of needed use last year. I had purchased a Frigidaire unit over a year ago for my living room and loved it. Very cold air noise level not bad. The autosensing feature is great which helps save on the electric bill. I did not need a Wifi unit as long as I have my remote I am more than satisfied. It is a very nice looking unit and was very happy with the installation by Best Buy.

    We have an old home with 10 foot ceilings downstairs so we didn't believe a window unit would be able to cool us downstairs. We were wrong! We decided to try one as a neighbor told us one worked decently for them and we are 100% glad that we did. It has made the summer tolerable, as we have had about 3 times the 90 plus degree days that we usually have and add the high humidity and we would have been miserable. So I have been telling anyone I know with an older home to definitely get this air conditioner. It is not too noisy and has worked beautifully!

    I bought this s A/C for my son and daughter in law. Upon arrival the packaging was awful it was the original box from Frigidaire. I knew the unit was damaged as soon as I totally pack it I knew it was. Four dents on end and corner that are outside. I was very upset to say the least. Unit works great and dent don’t affect the unit performance. But very poor quality control from Frigidaire, Best Buy and ups. Not sure who did the damage, but Im still mad unacceptable quality control. This is a unit that cost over 350.00 not happy and have pictures to prove.

    WOW! That's all I can say. I bought this for a 525sf 1 BR apt right before the 110 degree weather and what a Godsend! It didn't miss a beat, kept the place cold, not cool. I was suspect if a windowed ac facing SW and normally the place gets hot when there are consecutive hot days but there was no problem with this AC. It's quiet enough for an ac but man do I feel spoiled HAHA. I have not received a bill since I got it but keeping my 525sf place frozen if I want is worth it for the summer months.

    We bought this unit after reviewing various brands and prices. We installed it this past Sunday and thus far its doing what it should. I don't think its to loud - its a window unit so we have to deal with some noises but it cools our living/dining/kitchen area quite well...this unit was not on the floor so if you go searching for one - check inventory online and have them check the back warehouse cause they didn't think it was in stock until I showed them it was from my smart phone... God bless - long hot summer ahead :(

    Purchased this in the beginning of August, worked great up until it stopped working in January... No one to contact to help in this matter if you didn't pay for geek squad service even though the item is barely five months old and should be covered in a year warranty. WAS TOLD TO CONTACT A STORE TO BRING IT BACK IN BUT NO ANSWER AT ANY ACTUAL LOCAL STORE... WILL NEVER MAKE A PURCHASE LIKE THIS ONLINE AGAIN!!!

    This ac keeps my room cold to the point my nose and hands get cold. When it's humid I don't feel it. I sweat easily so I love this ac. The cord is on the left side and doesn't reach the outlet so I had to get an extension cord. Also had to buy a bigger ac bracket cause this ac is huge and it is required by the building I live in. Ac comes with that top part bar to hold onto window but you have to drill it on the ac. The remote shows the temperature in the room it comes with batteries.
