We chose this model for its unique, modern look and attractive design. We love the touch controls on the door, vs the standard/generic-looking controls and big clunky handle on the right side of almost all other microwaves on the market. The "hidden" recessed slot on the side of the door, instead of a traditional door handle, is the icing on the cake. The black stainless finish looks rich and elegant against the dark, tinted glass. There is still plenty of light inside to see what's cooking though. The microwave performs well and has plenty of power to cook anything we throw in it. So far, we have mostly used it to defrost food and reheat leftovers, and for those functions, it has been flawless. The controls are intuitive, thoughtfully-placed, and easy to read, as well as responsive. The LED stovetop light is bright and does a great job of illuminating whatever we're cooking on the stove. The 3-speed fan is very powerful, and if I had to complain about something, it would be that there is not much difference between the high, medium, and slow speeds. This isn't anything I would deduct stars for, however. I've also read other reviews that complain about how bright the clock is but it's not an issue for us, since it is easy to see from across the room. Cleaning the interior couldn't be easier -- whatever that coating is in there, it's magic. I just used a dry paper towel to wipe off 2-day-old spaghetti sauce splatter, with one swipe. No chemicals, no scrubbing, no cussing. Like I said, magic. Installation is pretty standard, and as you would expect for any over-the-range microwave. I made sure to secure the brackets into studs, since this is a fairly stout unit. I strongly recommend two people to lift it up on to the wall brackets. After approximately two months of use, we are very satisfied with this microwave, and absolutely recommend it!

Frigidaire is clearly lying on the height specification to make the microwave appear shorter than every other microwave in the same configuration type. The specs state the height is 15 9/16, but it is not. The height in the back is closer to 16 1/2. After buying this and finding out the height is completely wrong I went to the store with a tape measure to compare heights. Every other brand in this configuration range (30" wide and 16-17" high) correctly states their spec to be the maximum in the back. They all are around 16 3/8" - 16 1/2" high in the back and ~15 3/4" high in the front due to the bottom sloping up. All other brands correctly list their back height in the product specs, but Frigidaire is the only one which provides the front face as the product height, even though the back is almost an extra inch higher. They clearly are doing so to make their microwave appear shorter to trick people who are replacing an older microwave and need the shortest one possible to buy this microwave. It is blatant false advertising. Even the Best Buy sales associate who I bought it from was not aware of this. Returned and now need to restart this process all over. I lost a month due to this. Will never buy another Frigidaire product again. Best Buy should drop this product due to false advertising.

Looks sharp! Heats and cooks nicely, and it's a little more compact vertically but still very roomy inside so you can nuke a nice meal or tall cup and still have room to cook on the stove. I also like that the number buttons can be used as one-touch minute selection, or quick type custom time selection without resorting to a cook-time button. But that's about the extent of the pros. Construction: is a bit flimsy in my opinion. Back panel vibrated so badly with the exhaust fan running I had to stick towels between the vent and the wall to dampen the vibrations. Sound: even with dampening, both the fan and motor are awful. On partial settings the motor buzz-hums loudly like a bad intercom speaker. On full speed it sounds like a Hoover vacuum cleaner. It's deafening when cooking. Menu Settings: despite the easy use time settings, the rest of the menu is stupidly impossible to use. You have to blindly click through menus which are not easy to read, then select settings in each menu. We've all done that. But sometimes the current setting is shown and you have to cycle to select a new one. Other times the new optional setting is shown first. You will inadvertently reset custom settings more than once before you figure it out. Overall I am pretty disappointed with Frigidaire. I truly was hoping for much, much better. But I put too much work into installing it, it does what it's supposed to, and it does look handsome, though it screams like a banshee in a lung machine. I decided to keep it, but I'm not pleased.

I would have given 5 stars except for two things. The door, which extends beyond the actual oven part is so wide that you have to make a special effort not to hit yourself in the face when you open it. I know it looks sleek, but it’s poor design. Second, although the microwave itself is very quiet, the vent fan on high or medium is incredibly loud. Otherwise, I like the oven just fine.

Bought this to replace a Maytag microwave that died after about 15 years. I chose this microwave because the installation instructions showed it would work with my cabinet depth without needing to add a board behind it, because it has a relatively large glass platter (other microwaves with the same cubic feet had significantly smaller platters), and reviews indicated it was better quality than most others (i.e., others had complaints about door alignment, the door handle coming apart, etc.), It's working great so far. The LED lighting underneath is a vast improvement over the dim incandescent bulb that our old unit had. The modes for heating beverages and reheating various things seem to know when to stop better than our old one's did. I also like having a button to add 10 seconds in addition to the add 30 seconds button. Very satisfied with the Best Buy installers. I had already removed the dead microwave, so they checked the measurements and got the new one installed very quickly. They even set the time on the control panel. Also, I liked that I could select my installation date during the checkout process online. The other big box home improvement store's website said that I would need to call the installers to arrange a date after completing the transaction, and I didn't want to pay for the microwave without knowing when it was going to get delivered.

The Frigidaire Gallery Over-The-Range Microwave is a perfect upgrade from our old unit. We are really enjoying and using all the features that this Frigidaire Microwave unit has to offer. The Black Stainless Steel finish looks great in our kitchen.

This is a beautifully sleek microwave. Replaced our old 1.9 cu ft over-the-range GE Model. Have had this for a little over one month. Works great.

#1 - it's beautiful. The photo on the website just doesn't do it justice. Love everything about it so far. Easy to use. 10 sec and 30 sec buttons for quick warmups. It's absolutely lovely.

While just installed on 4/18 I am so far extremely pleased with this microwave. Looks great and so far as performed as advertised. Like the no handle door and the solid metal contacts for the door. Better than the plastic components on my two previous microwaves. This is making me considering buying more Frigidaire appliances to replace my current Samsung’s. Also, the installation team was professional and very quick with installation. Again so far very pleased.

I was not happy with the fact that the black stainless is not in stock and they have to order it. then when I got the first one it was broke and I had to return and wait again for a new one. I waited for over a month to finally get my new microwave.

It's great. It works and looks perfect. It's just what I wanted. And it fits!

As advertised, a low quality product. A microwave door squeaking like it's something from a Haunted House, and Frigidaire says, we can't fix it. Got that? They know it is a defect, so they won't fix it, because I guess they can't.

Waited 2 months for delivery, and it never came. Was told they did not know when they would receive it from their vendor. Had to cancel my order.
