Customers are saying

Customers are enthusiastic about the Gallery 5.4 Cu. Ft. range's fast heating speed and induction cooking capabilities, citing ease of use and quick cooking times as major benefits. However, some customers note that the cooktop is easily scratched and requires induction-compatible cookware. A few also mentioned concerns about the sturdiness of the bottom drawer. Overall, the positive feedback on cooking performance outweighs the negative comments regarding specific features.

Fast to boil water but requires new techniques

My first induction cook top & true convection oven have required me to learn how to "cook" all over again. I had to do some experimenting and I had to write down the numbers I use for each burner and each type of food I cook on the top. For example, I will use the 2nd largest burner to cook rice and I have to use a number to bring the water/rice to a boil and then a lower number to continue cooking it until it is done--these numbers do not work on a different burner. Overall, I like that the surface does not get hot except from the heat of the pan and so it is much cleaner than my old range. I did some research on the safety of magnetic fields from induction method and so I would rather err on the side of caution and keep my hands and arms off the pan as well as avoid stirring food with metal utensils while the induction is working.

It is induction so you have to have special cookware for it. Best buy doesn't seem to carry anything in the stores. Overall cooks good although it doesn't boil water quite as fast as they would have you believe.

This is such a great product as induction is great for families with little children and don't have to worry about leaving the stove on or burning hands. It is so fast boils water and 2 to 3 minutes my mom can't believe it. Buying new pans is no big deal because this product was way better for the price. I will never go back to regular or gas.

Have cooked with gas and electric and Induction is the best of both worlds. Ultra fast and even heat. Still geting used to boiling water in two minutes. The convection oven is stellar, quick and even baking.

I researched a lot of stoves while looking to replace my old electric elemental stove. I absolutely love this induction convection oven! It cooks food quickly, easily and evenly. There's a slight learning curve when learning to use the induction portion because cook times can be very different from other stovetops however it does a great job of cooking food. You may need to purchase a new set of cookware because only cookware that is magnetic will work however it's a small price to pay.

I had been wanting an induction range for a long time and this one fit my budget. It works very well and is quieter and faster than the portable induction cooktop I used previously. They did skimp a little bit on the build quality of the oven itself. I expected the easy rack to have ball bearing gliders but it's just a normal rack that attaches to the door so that it comes out a few inches when the door is opened. Additionally, the storage drawer underneath is just a piece of bent sheet metal. Mine didn't close flush with the oven and when bestbuy sent someone to fix it they said the only adjustment they could do was to warp the sheet metal. It now looks flush but doesn't feel like it closes all the way on one side. Again, ball bearing slides would have been much better. That said, I'm happy with the way it cooks.

Our family is in love with this thing. It boils water in less than a minute. It requires certain pots and pans but it’s totally worth it. Haven’t used the convection option yet.

I had previously had a smooth cooktop stove but it was slow. I Was debating on whether to switch to propane but was not keen on it. Then found the induction range. It is the best of all worlds. Faster than gas, safer too. Clean appearance and ease of cleaning that a smooth cooktop has. I am over the moon happy with this range. Oven works great too.

We were very disappointed that we couldn't have a gas range. We bought the induction hoping it would match the control that you get with a gas range. It is amazing. It is very fast yet easy to control the temperature. We did have to buy a new set of pots and pans to use with it but we have now used it a month and I would certainly buy it again.

We were shopping for a gas range to replace our junk electric range and had one picked out, but at the last minute I switched to induction after learning about their speed, efficiency, and amazing rangetop temp control. I narrowed it down to the Electrolux and this Frigidaire, and chose this one because of the actual rangetop dials (instead of push buttons). It was a good choice - this range is excellent. It boils water in 90 seconds, doesn't dump heat into our kitchen, goes from boil to simmer instantly, and the convection oven is amazing. My wife and I take dishes out of the oven and say "oh, so that's what it's supposed to look like!" The fast preheat is FAST, and it looks great alongside our new dishwasher and fridge of other brands (the Frigidaire smudge proof finish is slightly darker, but it's also much less prone to fingerprints so I don't mind the subtle color difference at all). Very highly recommended if you're ready to take the plunge and go beyond archaic/inefficient gas and terrible electric ranges! I suppose the only drawback is the inability to flame-char a pepper. But seriously, is that really a big deal?

Although only a few weeks old, it seems to bake evenly and fire up quickly. I especially like the "hot element" note. Still haven't used all of its functions yet though.

Water boils in full 2QT sausepan in under 4 min! Really great rangetop. Oven is fast preheating, as well. Can't say enough about the high quality. Only ding is the flimsy bottom drawer. The fellas dinged it on by carrying it with straps that pushed the door up into a bolt head. Not a big deal but shows how thin the metal sheeting is.

One of the best Convection ovens out

Wanted to wait till I used it before writing a review because Convection is new to the consumer market. I don't remember ever seeing one till now. I purchased it about 2 months now. I have to admit I took a chance buying but with Best Buys return policy on appliances is great. I believe it's one of the best purchase I made. It cooks awesome. Always even. When I'm frying something I found out I'm using less oil. The Oven is the best. Cooks every thing in pretty much half the time. If instructions say 40 minutes be prepared to take out in 20 - 25 minuter. Be aware if you buy this you will probably have to throw half of your pits away or give to a friend. You have to test your pots with a magnet. You simply get a fridge magnet and place it on bottom of the pot if it grabs it's good. If not get rid of it. Buy this you will not regret it. I recently started cooking with a pressure pot on it and it's amazing.
