I purchased this for a trip to northern Colorado with my son's scout troop. The camera was a replacement for another waterproof camera that I had and it was time to retire. I push the limits on all my gear and I am impressed with this camera. The camera has a bunch of bells and whistles, I perused the options for the various shooting modes during my down time and was very impressed. The power button had the camera up and running quickly, the flash was good for my low light situations and waterproof feature was fantastic. I used it for when we were Kayaking and when swimming in a glacier fed water lake. Pictures came out great, easy to put in my backpack or keep in my pocket, never had to worry about getting it wet in any situation due to the waterproof feature. Great camera if you need something in a point and shoot format, the options for various shooting modes are fantastic and the images come out great.

The camera itself is wonderful. I took it camping and on a raft float down the river (where it spend a lot of time just sitting in water attached to my wrist) and it survived both very well. Still waterproof, it takes the kind of images you would expect (not the highest/best/most detailed but still really clear, at least above water). I bought this camera for a cruise I'm going on later this year so that will be the real test. I didn't want the cheapest waterproof one out there but I didn't feel like spending $400 on the Olympus I usually get either (tight on money this year, the Olympus has always been worth it to me because I tend to be rough with my stuff). This was a great compromise with price and quality. I'll update the review after my cruise if there's anything noteworthy to mention.

I took this camera snorkeling daily for 2 weeks. It holds up well even in intense swimming or being banged around. The photos are often crisp when close to a subject but you need to be sure nothing is on the lens (sand, smudge, etc) or the camera will focus on what is on the lens. If you are not close to the subject in the water, the focus may be slightly off on something else in the water so take a lot of pictures. Out of the water, the shots are often good but it seems to be inconsistent in color or as good as a small camera can take. Most water comes off the lens quickly when popping out of the water but you need to make sure no big drops are on the lens. The flash has a very limited range but the low light mode works better than expected. This camera is very easy to use for a point and shoot.

I am currently using this camera to shoot small metallic detailed items for record keeping and online use. The ability to connect the camera to the phone to control it and download photos is awesome. It takes great photo and is easy to use. My only wish is the battery would last longer.

I owned a similar model which was stolen and this was basically an upgraded replacement. It looks like my old one and the buttons are in the same place. Purchased specifically for the waterproof and wifi features. The camera takes great underwater pictures and video.

    Great Camera for Summer Vacations

We bought this camera several years ago to take with us on our cruise as we knew water and other harsh elements would be in around in plentiful quantities. We were and still are impressed at the quality of the photos this camera produces, its battery that easily lasts through a day of normal use, and the fact that it does indeed seem to be resistant to the elements. One thing to note however is the rear screen in polarized, and if you have polarized sunglasses, you will either need to remove them or turn the camera into a vertical orientation in order to see the photo you are capturing.

Ordered this in store and received a day early, so that was a plus. The blue and black is my favorite color combo so it's absolutely beautiful to me. The camera has a little weight to it so it doesn't feel cheaply made. The battery life is wonderful, and I love that you can just charge it up instead of constantly buying batteries. I took it to the pool and even though I was a little weary, it actually held up great. The underwater pictures turned out awesome! The videos turned out good visually, but there is a weird sound it makes during playback when the camera itself is underwater. Other than that, so far so good. Can't wait to take it on vacation this summer and I hope this lasts for a long time!

This camera takes excellent underwater pictures. It is very fast and the pictures are extremely clear. It is important to follow the directions to clean the camera and keep the interior dry.

Living in Florida we love these type's of cameras. Waterproof and shockproof. Its great to take them to the beach and not worry about them getting wet or sandy. We had a Canon before this one, and loved it. But Canon no longer makes this style of camera. A little learning curve getting use to the Fiju camera, but not bad. The only thing I don't love about the camera is it did not come with a battery charger like the Canon. To charge the battery you have to open a side water proof latch and attach a usb cord to the camera. Which means you have to leave the waterproof door open while charging. I see a possible problem with this, but so far ok.

This was purchased for our 7 year old with the intentions of being used outdoors and especially at the beach. She has easily mastered it already with a memory card full of pictures from Disney World. She also figured out the video function too. We can't wait for her to take pictures on the sand or even in the water in the near future. The wrist strap is a bit long for her (and probably anybody) but doubling it up seems to be working fine. The Fuji app is really cool as we can instantly download pics to our phones and delete the pics that aren't keepers. The app also allows us to share the pics with family and friends with ease.

I purchased this for a scuba trip to the carribean. This does great with close up fish shots, video etc. It also does great further away, although even with the underwater setting you get the blue hue when going to deeper depths. The blue was is in 98% of my shots that were past 10 feet. I'm sure with a computer program I can slap a red filter on it and fix it but I just thought that was the only thing this camera could improve on. It came with a floating handle it you let go of it by accident and is a pretty tough little camera when it comes to getting in choppy water with waves beating you and also with sand. I'll consider this a good camera and a keeper.

Good efficient camera with great feature. I'm glad I don't need to carry around a underwater housing. You can just jump in the water take pictures in the rain and you don't have to worry. Great for outdoors but not so good quality for indoor use witch is okay since I bought this for traveling.

I purchased this camera for underwater use. My wife and I going on a cruise with multiple snorkeling opportunities. This camera met the requirements I had which were good pixel count, depth of use to 65 feet (more not needed for snorkeling) and multiple quick settings for taking pictures in different settings. Being able to take a still picture while recording a video was an added plus. The pictures are good quality though I have not taken any underwater pictures yet. Overall, a good camera for the price with capabilities that I desire as a photographer (semi-pro)

I bought this so I could take it to Hawaii for snorkeling and ocean activities and it did not fail me. Easy to use, easy to charge and it took excellent pictures, in and out of the water. The floatable strap was a plus since I dropped it a few times and it floats. The Wi-Fi is a good thing and helpful but I wish it were better. It's only does one picture at a time and takes around 30 seconds to download each picture. When you have a whole lot of pictures it would be nice if it would download all of them at once but it doesn't. Overall an excellent product

I bought myself an earlier model of the Fuji Finepix to take with me on bike trips and trail running to take pictures in the great outdoors. I wanted something that could take a little bumping around and exposure to the outdoors and the elements. Also one that was easy to use. It has been a great purchase. I took it on a 350 mile bike ride and took lots of pictures there, also trail running and it has always been great. So when we wanted to get a camera for a fellow runner/biker, I purchased another Finepix for her. I think she will love it!

This camera has been great for me! Durability seems good and tough. Pictures turn out good above average for a point and shoot and a waterproof. Fuji has surpassed and surprised me with this camera and all of the features it has. Just because it’s a point and shoot, adjustments still have to be made for the best picture in different scenarios. Overall I couldn’t want more. Price is a little steep but Bestbuy had it on the deal of the day and boy was it worth it. I took it on a cruise the week I bought it.

This camera can easily be just turned on and used for simple snap shots but it is not intuitive as to how to take advantage of the more advanced features. Unfortunately, the users guide is not included! You must go on line and download a long PDF document. Also, it is too easy to go into movie mode as the movie button is very close to the on/off button. Then you are constantly deleting short useless movies that you made inadvertently. Otherwise, the camera is good for fun snaps especially outdoors.

I bought this camera due to its waterproof and shockproof features, since I run obstacle course races. I have ran with it during two races thus far, and it has lived up to its hype. I have had it in and under water with no issues whatsoever. I have not dropped it though, so I can't speak on it being shockproof. The one con, or at least I am not savvy enough to figure it out, when you transfer the pictures to your phone, you can only do one at a time. I wish it would transfer them all at once.

The camera is great in the water and can shoot stills and video at the same time. The camera is easy to use. The quality of the pictures is good for a point and shoot camera. I don't baby my cameras. However I also know not to take my digital SLR to the beach. This little camera is very rugged and was a great camera to use on the beach and in the pool. The additional hand strap floats making the camera easy to find in the water. The only drawback to the camera is it needs a longer zoom.

I bought this camera specifically to use in the water on vacations and such. We already own a go pro, which is great, but I wanted something specifically for still shots that had a screen. Our go pro does not. We took this on our cruise over christmas and took over 500 pictures. Easy to use and takes excellent quality pictures. And best of all, it's waterproof. I have zero complaints and would highly recommend it for the money.
