Good Instant camera for simple shots

My daughter wanted this camera to take intant pictures. It does what it is supposed to do. The camera is easy to use. If you are looking for portrait quality though don't bother. This is strictly for taking quick simple pictures. The photos are very small, like 2 inches by 2 inches approximately. The instant photo takes quite a while to develop so you have to be careful with the pic when it comes out of the camera. The photo quality is average. Pictures appear over exposed at times (kind of washed out), and a little blurry too. Film is pretty pricey too. But it is a fun little camera and for those that remember the Kodak One Shots (or whatever they were called), it will be sort of nostalgic. I don't really see the need for something like this any more with digital phones, etc. but it is a good toy for a kid.

The camera works fine for my child but I like my phone better. Does provide her with instant pictures instead of waiting for development if that matters to you in this digital age. Film is expensive and a child will not understand that downside. Might be enjoyed more by someone with a more specific use. Don’t know if I would buy again after having it. More of an expensive novelty with little long term charm. The selfie mirror is of little to no use.

I'm not impressed with this camera...the quality of the photos is less than stellar, the photo paper is TINY, and the refills are expensive. Every picture my son has taken is grainy and the color is washed out. Make sure your subject is sitting stock still or you won't get a decent picture. Once you get past that, you need a magnifying glass to even see the pics because the paper is about 1.5"x2.5". Then, my kids blew through 2 packs of film in one day playing with it. I got a stack of useless pictures...blurry, out of focus, random shots. My 9-year old loves it but probably isn't old enough to use it without breaking my bank in the process. He just snaps away until there is no film left. Now, it sits in a drawer unused because I refuse to buy more film for pictures that are pointless. It's a novel and fun idea, but not made for younger kids. Give it to a teenager and, hopefully, you won't go broke buying film.

bought as a gift. Easy to use an works really well for a 10 year old. Photo quality is less than good, but for the "fun" factor our daughter doesn't mind the poor quality. Down side, expensive film with few photos per roll. But she has to save her own money and buy refills...

Children loved the camera, easy to use, excep could have better direction included for the lighting adjustments for them. It took several tries to actually get a good picture. For the expensive price of the film they should give you more that 10 pic to a box.

While the Fujifilm - instax mini 9 Instant Film Camera does exactly what it says it does, there are some frustrations with the camera options. Scene lighting, flash, etc aren't as easily settable as I imagine it could be. Also, film is expensive so this won't take the place of a phone for pictures and is more of a unique picture location. It's fun to use and many people have compliments about how cool it is when you hand them the camera so you don't have to take a selfie. Oh yeah, this does have a mirror for a selfie but that seems strange to do with a big camera. Buy this model if the price is good, but there are better models and makers if this is not on sale

I bought this camera for my niece and I know she loves it. The pictures come out great for a Polaroid style camera. The only downfall is that the price for new film can get very expensive

It's a great camera. Seems to be well made. Was easy to use. Had a little trouble with getting the right light. The film is very expensive, but nieces loved getting a picture to keep.

For the low-cost, this is a convenient and good camera w/ decent quality to print quick instant photos. However, the film is fairly expensive.

My daughter (8 years old) and niece (10 years old) love that they instantly receive a picture! they have fun taking pictures, and of course selfies. They like the carrying case that’s included too. I find it to be a little bulky though. I also think the pictures come out dark, if you don’t have good lighting (it does have a flash). But overall, the kids like it and they have fun with it and that’s all that matters. :)

At least 30% of our pictures don’t come out right. The ones that actually do come out look great, it has a real cool old-timey filter that makes the pictures usually look great. Unfortunately, I brought it to Disney and so many pictures were totally ruined It’s horrible in the dark, and horrible for distances...figuring out what setting to use is tricky too. The film is pricey too, which makes it even worse when it doesn’t work. All in all...it’s ok

I used this both indoor and outdoor and autocorrects the settings to adjust for lighting but doesn’t always auto correct to the proper setting causing very dark or ultra bright pics. It’s a cute idea and I bought it on sale so that’s why I’m giving 3 stars- for pricing and the concept. I wish I saved the pics to demonstrate for my review but they were trash so that’s where they went; in the trash.

I thought this would be great for my little one. Something cool. the problem is that within 2 days all the film was used up and it is just sitting. If the film was dirt cheap then it would be no biggie and I would rate it much higher. In a digital world where you can take unlimited pics to be only able to take a few pics then the device is worthless is not cool.

Would give this camera 5 stars if it wasnt for the price of the film. Like im ballin and all but A dollar per photo is a bit much. Other than that the quality and different environment settings are great and girls love these so they make a great gift. You can give one to your gf and one to your wife.

My 8 y.o. kid likes it. She enjoys taking pictures, seeing them print and hanging them in her room ... that is where the magic is ... but the quality of the pictures is low, the cost of the film is high and the re-loading of the film is painful (you only get 10 pics, so is frequent). So, it is a nice toy ... but no more than that.

Bought for my daughter for Christmas - works well and she loves it. The meter feature (how you take a photo) is a bit strange since you have to set it to take a pic, but sometimes meter light changes from looking at it to set then when you move to your eye to take the photo. Doesn’t seem to ever turn flash off on any setting either.
