I love the look of the black and white instant prints or Monochrome as Fuji calls it. Unfortunately it's a bit pricey. $17.99 for 10 shots, works out to a buck eighty a shot. The price isn't Best Buy being expensive, or at least not excessively. Even online it's pretty pricey and Best Buy is the only store I've found locally that carries the film in stock. That all being said the film works great and has a distinct Polaroid look to them. Be aware like all of the Fuji Instant film it takes a good 30-45 minutes for the film to fully develop.

    The best Instax film yet

I’ve always preferred the wide size of this format, even with the recent introduction of the square film. This monochrome Wide is even better than the mini monochrome. The blacks are fairly contrasty and detail is well persevered. I just wish the prices were closer to regular Wide film. I’ve shot two packs so far, one on a wide 300 and the other on a lomography wide camera. Great results from both although a touch more dreamy look with the Lomo and sharper with the 300.

I’ve used different types of Instant Film through different camera companies and this one is pretty good. They yield high contrast photos that run a little on the dark side. I actually used the “Lighten” feature from the camera on most of the film and it worked out nicely (shots were inside dimly lit bars w the flash). At double the price of color Instax Wide film though, it’s not quite there yet. If it was slightly cheaper, it’d be my favorite.

I've always preferred Instax wide to the smaller mini and I still like it better than the new Instax Square. This monochrome version of wide takes the format to a new level. Very pleasing black & white although the tone has a cool color tone so not pure monochrome. Still great. Just need the prices to come down.

The Instax B&W Fuji film is nice and sharp, with great contrast - and, looks more like "true" B&W than the Impossible Project instant film, like the I-Type or Polaroid. I use an Instax 300 Wide and it's great for parties, family gatherings, or just sharing pictures with friends.

As far as instant film goes, this Fuji B&W is my favorite because of it's consistent look, brightness, contrast and dynamic range. Develops faster than Impossible Project's film and looks better - sharper too.

The wide print size proves them to be worthy as a gift. Larger than most Instax films, make them great for framing (small frame for a table top) and display.

Picture clarity was not as nice as the color pictures as they tend to look a little dark. I only used one pack so I didn’t have a chance to experiment.

I love the different style of the film, compared to the original. Original is always good, but variety makes it fun!
