It’s a great camera, I took it on a trip to Italy and took amazing pictures. Significantly better quality than iPhone 15 Pro. Small, beautiful design and powerful.

The Fujifilm X100VI isn't just a highly praised camera; it's genuinely the ideal camera for my personal style and needs. From the moment I started using it, the excellent image quality has consistently blown me away, producing stunning results even in challenging conditions. Beyond its technical prowess, what truly sets it apart is the entire shooting experience. Its compact, rangefinder-style design, coupled with that beautiful retro aesthetic, makes it not just a tool but an absolute joy to hold and use. It makes every outing feel like a photographic adventure, encouraging me to slow down and truly see the world. It's the kind of camera that inspires creativity and fits seamlessly into daily life, proving why it's such a beloved classic. I genuinely enjoy every moment spent with my X100VI.

The Hype Tax is Real

The VI fixes a lot of the stuff people complained about with the previous versions—sluggish operation, middling build, no IBIS, smaller sensor, lens showing its age. Now you’ve got a 40MP sensor (same one as the X-T5/T50), in-body stabilization, and a faster processor, so on paper it’s finally caught up with the rest of Fuji’s lineup. The hybrid OVF/EVF is still here and still fun, and the leaf shutter plus built-in ND means you can sync flash in broad daylight at crazy shutter speeds without messing with HSS. It’s a slick little package—even pros could use it as a backup.
That said, the TikTok factor has absolutely overcooked the hype. It’s been turned into this holy grail “it’ll make you a photographer” object, which, of course, it won’t. For a huge chunk of buyers, it’s less about actually using the thing and more about the aesthetic of owning it. Which is a shame… but then again, society’s been disappointing me for as long as I’ve been around, so this isn’t exactly a plot twist.
A few reality checks: the lens is still the same 23mm f/2 optical design from the X100V. It’s fine, but it’s not magically sharper just because the sensor is higher-res, and the focus motor isn’t exactly snappy. The much-touted subject detection AF works, but the lens’ speed means it’s not a sports or action camera. Weather sealing? Still requires buying the adapter ring + filter. Video specs look good on the box (6.2K, 4K/60, 10-bit), but rolling shutter and thermal limits mean it’s not a video workhorse. Battery life is basically the same as before—fine for casual use, but not endless.
Build feels solid, but long-term users have reported cosmetic wear (eyepiece rubber, hot shoe paint) if you’re hard on your gear. It’s also still a single UHS-I card slot, single 2.5mm mic jack (headphones only via USB-C dongle), so not a serious video rig.
Price? MSRP in the US is now $1,799 after the tariff-driven bump, and availability’s still patchy. Paying scalper prices north of $2K is insanity when you could buy an X-T5, X-T50, or X-E5 and a great 23mm lens for the same money—or less—and get better AF, dual slots (on the T5), more flexibility, and zero hype tax.
If you’re buying it because you love shooting with it—the handling, the OVF, the leaf shutter, the colors—then great, you’ll probably be happy. If you’re buying it because TikTok told you it’s the answer to your creative problems, prepare to be underwhelmed.

Great Camera.
Unfortunately, horrific customer service. Arrived in a brown cardboard box half open with a dent kicked in the side, internally no surrounding bubble wrap or packing material, just a loose manufacturers box rattling around, also dented.
Bestbuy phone customer service offered no resolution after hours on the phone, told me to go in store to speak with a manager.
Drove in store, manager tells me that because it is an online order, he cannot help me and I need to call customer care.
Called customer care again and went through the same multi hour phone tree with foreign call centers. Again, best buy is unable to replace the camera. They offered a 450 dollar extended warranty protection plan which I would have the privilege of purchasing, but they are unable to authorize any goodwill toward such a plan.
Again, a great camera, but buy it from literally anyone else.

You took my money, then left my order pending for a week, then cancelled my order - with no notice other than "customer returned item" - after multiple reach outs to customer service, I eventually was told that there was no stock, and it'll take 10 days for a refund. So really happy with my "product"
