I was taken by surprise when I saw this camera at my local Best Buy store. I had been very interested in seeing this camera in person and putting my hands on it. After reading several reviews and watching countless YouTube videos about the fujifilm X-T1 I knew I wanted to test it out but I could not find anyone in town who had it in stock. I bought the camera with the intention of trying it out and possibly returning it but I fell in love with it in the first few days of shooting. The small size and light weight remind me of my 35mm film cameras I used for years before digital was affordable. The Fuji lenses are fantastic and extremely well made. I will be selling all my DSLR gear and switching to Fuji mirrorless now.
I recommend at least giving this camera a test run. All the specs on paper just don't do it any justice u less you actually use it. It made my photography fore fun and creative overall.

Take old reviews with a grain of salt. With firmware 4.0 released in 7/2015, this camera is amazing, and I am an experienced and a frustrated Canon 7D user. This thing is responsive, smart, sharp, flexible and a great partner AFTER you go through the settings. After you set it up, you then rarely need to go in (like telling a good partner once how you like things done). Drop noise reduction to -2 and auto iso to 6400 if you don't mind good looking grain (looks like film). Turn up minimum shutter in ISO setting. Turn on Pre-AF. Understand your focus options. Consistently wakes up fine if you hold down the shutter button for a half second (to prevent accidental wake ups). Virtual level is nice, but don't live by it (watch for perceived level). Shoot RAW+JPEG in Provia and play with film sims using in-camera raw processing until you get a handle on the film sims. Drains batteries about as fast as my 7D so it is a good idea to figure out how many spares you need. A Lensmate thumbrest is very handy. Be watchful of electronic shutter in artificial lighting at high shutter speeds. Some of this may change with new firmware. Good luck.

This little gem feels great in your hands, is well built and has great controls. I have used it on professional jobs, portrait and events and has proven to rival my Nikon professional camera's. The kit lens has a nice range. To extend my focal lengths for now, I am using a fuji to nikon adapter to allow me to use my nikon lenses. However I will be replacing that idea with manufacture - Fuji lenses for best results. Fuji's color drew me to this camera and it is very sharp . . . even in low light. I haven't figured out the best way to handle action, but that is probably a function of continued use.
When I was shooting an event, I had many professional ask me what camera I was using. I had a nikon d800 strapped on my back and they wanted to know more about the Fuji.

Capturing and control of light is what photography is about. Every camera can accomplish this, most people simply put their expensive cameras on auto and snap away.
But the experience of working your own settings and capturing the image by yourself using your intuition and experience is what separates the photographer from the masses who just blindly click away. The XT-1 is a photographers tool and friend. Many other cameras have the PSAM setting were you control the aperture shutter speed and exposure compensation. But none do it in an engaging and satisfying fashion that the XT-1 provides. The images this camera captures ranks up there with the top DSLR's even with a 16mp sensor. The cameras film simulation mode allows for capturing pictures in various film simulations Classic Chrome let's you capture the feel of old 35mm Kodak chrome film with gently softened colors that is my favourite. Lowlight performance is excellent and the solid build quality rivals a top of the line Swiss watch. The knobs click with a solid authority and the weather sealed body allows for foul weather photography in below freezing temperatures, provided you use a WR lens. This is one tough camera.
The only cons are that the standard kit with the 18-55mm 2.8 lens is not a WR lens
And it is expensive... Also Fuji lenses tend to be more expensive but the quality and sharpness they provide is nearly unbeatable. This is a shooters camera it makes you want to go out and take pictures to explore what the Camera is capable of. I've had many cameras in the past but this one puts a smile on my face every time I pick it up...and to me that's what photography is about....

I am a novice photographer, so take this review for what it is. The camera is solid and well-constructed and the buttons have excellent feel. The menus are a bit overwhelming at first, but the dials and buttons on the camera allow you to avoid the menus for the most part. My first few forays into taking photos were little better than point and shoot. But I've been slowly working through the menus and adjusting the parameters to see how different settings affect the photos. There is a lot to adjust and play with, which is great for someone able to understand the camera.
Even with my novice experience, I can see the quality in the photos this camera takes. Deep and engaging colors; very sharp lines. The included lens is a great all purpose lens; I'm eager to get another to see how it changes the photos.
I realize that this camera is a commitment. You will need some form of editing program to make your photos look their best. I have yet to shoot in RAW format, but I'm told that is the way to maximize the potential of my photos and the camera.
Overall, I do highly recommend and here's why: even after a month, the camera feels like an old friend. I know that it is waiting to do amazing things, once I learn how to do them. It feels approachable in the way that a full DSLR would intimidate -- not only in size but price. This is small and seems nimble, sturdy but capable of elegant photos. I have a feeling that I am going to look back and say that I love this camera.

The Fuji XT-1 is a great camera for the enthusiast. The addition of the shutter speed, aperture, ISO, and EV dials allow you to quickly access these functions. These may be a little intimidating to someone who purely wants to use the camera as a "point and shoot".
The images that are captured are fantastic and most of the lenses that are available for XT-1 are really fantastic although they are pricey.
The APS-C size sensor and quality of the glass available from Fuji allow for excellent bokeh when using the 56mm lens for portraits.
JPGs that come out of the camera have pleasing colors, although it is easier to capture in RAW+JPG if you want to edit the photos in Lightroom or Photoshop.

I moved from Nikon to Fujifilm and not looking back. The size is perfect for traveling and the lenses are amazing. Full frame cameras will always be best in low light, but I'll take the smaller size though.

I purchased a Nikon D7100, then started doing a lot of street photography, then I realized the D7100 was too big for that. I sold the Nikon and bought a X-T1 and I love it, its a great DSLR replacement and, according to many reviewers, its the best mirrorless camera.

I wanted to explore photography a little more than the usual automated versions of cameras. I did some research and the Fuji X-T1 kept coming up as a camera that people enjoyed "Just taking photos". The manual controls allow experienced as well as just learning photographers a quick visual of the settings that are buried in menus on other cameras. I highly recommend a closer look at this one if you want to improve your understanding or, if you are experienced, the quality of your work.

Bought this for my wife for Christmas. The quality of photos, as well as the kit lense, has been great. Performance matches extensive reviews online. Only downside has been so-so video performance.

The New Standard In Mirrorless

After using several Canons, the last being a 5D Mark II, I realized I needed a much more versatile camera. I loved the image quality the 5D gave me, but it was far too bulky for travel and hiking. Not wanting to give up any of the durability, I went with the XT1.
The fit and finish of the Camera is amazing. The body is Magnesium, the dials are milled metal as well. The flippy screen is solid. This body is weather resistant( remember, you need WR lenses for you have a complete weather sealed kit.), and all the buttons feel nice and like they are going to last forever. Plus it is very light.
The controls on this camera are amazing. Its a still photographers dream, all the import settings right at your finger tips. No Q menus or command dials needed.
The image quality is amazing, I was a bit weary of going from a full frame sensor, back to an APS-C, but the X-trans sensor is remarkable. The lack of an anti-aliasing filter really brings out the sharpness. The color reproduction is amazing too. Very natural and film like.
Auto-focus is excellent too. I was tracking my 8 month old Corgi with ease.
Speaking of film like, the in camera Film emulsions are amazing. I did very little post production on them, as far as jpegs go, these are the best I have seen. The RAWs translate well in Adobe LightRoom 5 as well.
The kit lens is very good. Its aperture range is great. 2.8 on a kit lens is very uncommon, so low light issues are less likely. I generally shoot with fixed focal length primes, but it is nice to have the versatility. Its a perfect vacation lens.
The bad? Nothing really, the provided flash is not very useful; better than nothing and it was nice for them to pack it in, but for my uses, It will stay in the box. I have a full manual flash handy, so that is what I use. But again, the included one is well made, puts out a decent amount of light, but is not useful in my case.
The eye cup easily comes off too. I think they have addressed that with a new design which should be shipping with newer produced cameras. I for one will be spending the 15 dollars to get one.

I wanted to have lots of time to go back and forth between the X-T1 and my X-E2 before making my purchase. This will go well beyond specs where the X-T1 takes first prize without question. The ISO on this camera is amazing! Moving from ISO 25,600, there is a sudden and drastic change in image quality. I can’t imagine anyone selecting ISO 51,200 but it can go that high. Low light shooting is super amazing and the ISO performance is just amazing. I can't even begin to talk about how amazing its continues autofocus is.
I am a professional photographer & currently use a 5d mark iii. I really wanted a smaller camera that will enable me to shoot raw & not be as bulky as I have small hands.
The sleek body design of this camera is super retro attractive. I really like that Fuji has pancake like lenses that are not as large.
Weather Resistant - dust-resistant, water-resistant and -10°C low-temperature operation. I just had my 5d Mark iii's sensor professionally cleaned & it was over $130. I am always worried with water getting near it or forgetting it in my car in the cold. With the Fuji XT1 I wont have to be as nervous having fun with photography & experimenting.
I have spent the past 6 months researching this camera & I have yet to read a negative review.

I bought it today and I really love x-t1. However, the body has scratches, the screen filled with dust, the seal is open, and I found a dust in the kit lens.
I asked them if this product had been opened, they said no. (it is obviously used box).
I am so disappointing with best buy. I will never buy stuff from here.
