All the good things you have heard about this lens are true...very nice bokeh...not as nice as if it was a full frame camera but it still is exceptional...great for portraits or shooting a wedding...plus buying with BestBuy was a great idea as they do price match...I found this lens cheaper and BestBuy matched the cheaper price...nice doing business here on a top grade camera lens

A legendary lens, but not for me

I wanted so badly to love this lens like other people do. It was very sharp and the bokeh was pleasant. However, the squishy aperture ring and the inconsistent autofocus were disappointing. If you are taking pictures of still subjects, the autofocus is fine, but it struggles for anything even moving a bit.
Finally, I wouldn’t recommend this for the smaller Fuji bodies. It’s a big lens and quickly throws things off balance.

Beautiful, sharp and bokeh-licious lens. Feel, build and construction is fujifilm quality. It’s definitely a specialty lens and perfect for portraits, head shots and up close and personal photographs. Very tight field of view so you’ll have to definitely think when shooting in tight spaces if 35mm isn’t available. Using with XT-3 body, the AF is fast and very fun in manual with such a beefy lens. If you got the money a must buy.

I read reviews and wasn't sure about getting the 60mm macro version or the 56 f/1.2. Everyone said how sharp it was and was worth the money. It was a stretch but this prime lens really does shine and is very sharp at it's widest opening. I've shot couples and small families with it at 2.8 and the depth of field is great. I use this lens with the Fuji XT1 and love this glass!

My first choice

The 56mm f/1.2 was my first lens choice, and it's the best in my small collection (10-24mm f/4, 55-200mm f/3.5-4.8). I ordered the 23mm f/2 but haven't received it yet. I like the relatively small size yet rugged construction. It looks and feels like "precision." I can't seem to take a bad shot with this lens. I only wish it had OIS and WR. Still, I consider this my best lens.
