Full Metal Jacket in 4k looks great. the last part of the movie in combat looks even better and uses HDR so well with the fires and explosions .

Great Movie. Awesome to see it in 4K and other older movies making it to 4K.

this is my opinion so don't get mad if you seen this and disagree with it. the whole bootcamp training with vincent donofrio is amazing! its chilling and scary, specially the ending for that first part. then after that the movie kinda goes down in entertainment. you just have a bunch of soldiers straight out of camp thinking theyre badasses and when it comes to confronting others they fear up and act tough. that has been done over and over. the shots are beautiful tho! the colors on screen really pop out overall it is a good product

I owe this on blu ray and it's a great movie, but it really pops on 4k. It makes the it a whole new and sharper viewing experiences.

4K UHD is the only way to go when watching movies at home and even though this is an old movie, it looks brand new in this format!

Stanley Kubrick's take on the Vietnam War follows smart-aleck Private Davis (Matthew Modine), quickly christened "Joker" by his foul-mouthed drill sergeant (R. Lee Ermey), and pudgy Private Lawrence (Vincent D'Onofrio), nicknamed "Gomer Pyle," as they endure the rigors of basic training. Though Pyle takes a frightening detour, Joker graduates to the Marine Corps and is sent to Vietnam as a journalist, covering -- and eventually participating in -- the bloody Battle of Hué.

A bit grainy (not a fan) but thats expected on an older film like this. Still looks very good picture quality wise.

I’ve never seen this movie the way I Have in 4K. HIGHLY suggested. Almost like watching it over for the first time.

Let’s face it A lot of movies made 35 years ago were filmed with best technology available at that time but are nowhere close to today’s picture and audio quality. The transfer to 4K UHD leaves a lot to be desired in most cases. I was pleasantly surprised with the video quality of Stanley Kubrick’s Vietnam classic. The colors and black level contrast are very good and the noise level is surprisingly good. The soundtrack was disappointing as it is not in ATMOS and of course the aspect ratio is not wide screen. If your a fan of this film I believe the upgrade is worth it. I would not use it as film to show off your system, get something recently made filmed with superior technology.

I’d say I’ve watched quite a number of war movies but none quite compares to this Stanley Kubrick masterpiece -“Full Metal Jacket “. It is truly powerful, especially the first third where they show the realities of the psychological affects in basic training in the marines. And the brutalities of war being in the battlefield in Vietnam. It is graphic and unpredictable. A true milestone in filmmaking .

Kubrick is the master. This film looks fantastic in 4K, great to see it after many years
