We're back Babe-eh!

Two years passed, and the creators and investors of Futurama realized the calamitous decision they had committed to. Fortunately for the fans, it was a brief hiatus and the show came back (gloriously) on Comedy Central after the first four seasons had been running in syndication for a year and a half.
Bender's Big Score marks the heralding of the show's first triumphant return, and it comes out swinging hard! Even on DVD, the movie pops off the TV. It's the best comparison to Blu-ray that I can think of for an animated series, especially considering it came out RIGHT BEFORE the HD transition occurred. The sound is fantastic with all the favorite jingles mixed in with some new synths. All of your favorite classic cast members return, along with some OK new cast member choices; I personally like Dr. Cahill the most ("Dr. Goodnsexy"). The Sprungers are a little baroque for me, but that's the tongue-in-cheek-joke about everyone else being prudes in comparison to them. None stop parody, satire, and innuendos ensue.
But it's the plot of Bender's Big Score that truly shines. Time travel movies are notoriously rife with paradox, confusing side plots, and loose ends. BBS manages to keep it not only follow able, but neatly ties up the paradoxes quite well at the end. Think too hard on it, and you'll notice the errors, but that's inherent to any time travel episode/series. It also juggles comedy, sci-fi shout outs, romance/shipping, and satire excellently, a feat that the other movies and some of the later season episodes had trouble with.
The case for this disc is one of the two "carbon neutral" cases administered by 20th Century Fox, the other was for Beast with a Billion Backs. It is thinner cardboard than normal, with about half of the normal packaging missing, a thin transparent window to show the lenticular cover art, and a removable laminated paper backing with the production information. That sounds like a lot, but it's actually way less than what you'll see on typical Blu-ray and DVD cases. Main menu is pretty self explanatory; play movie, settings, scenes, and extras.
Bender's Big Score remains the best of the four movies that CC made for Season 5 before the show came back to its normal cadence in 2010. It is adamantly recommended, do not pass it up!

new futurama!

if you've been craving some new futurama material this movie will certainly fill that void in your life. with that said though, this movie isn't the best of what futurama has to offer. it's clear that the writing staff is a bit rusty from their "hiatus", and they're also not really comfortable with a 90 minute format yet. in spite of these difficulties benders big score still manages to be pretty entertaining. the movie does seem a little long and the musical numbers aren't quite as good as older futurama songs, but this movie nicely paves the way for the next movie installment "the beast with a billion backs". if you love futurama, don't waste your time worrying, go buy this right now.

Great 'wrap up' of the show for fans

This movie is a great continuation and somewhat of a wrap up from the original TV show, pulling in a large host of the many characters from the TV series. It's just a good, fun romp through the Futurama universe one more time, and advances a few plot points a bit as well. The only 'con' I'd have for it was that it at points felt like it dragged a little- and the major 'twist' was really predicable from early on.
Still, it's a lot of fun and I think anyone who was a fan of or enjoyed the TV series will get a kick out of it.
Be sure and check out the extras too! The episode of 'Everybody Loves Hypnotoad' is a laugh a minute!

Futurama is finally back with their first movie out of four. And if you love Futurama, you will love this movie. There are a lot of in jokes and references. So fans who have seen most if not all of the original series will get most of the jokes. But some will be lost on new and casual viewers. (Though it is reported the later movies will be better for the casual viewers). That being said if you liked Futurama this DVD is a must for any collection.
There is some nice extra features, including a very entertaining Director's Commentary, with a lot of behind the scenes information. As well as a few more extras to keep this in your DVD player for a few more days.
if you loved Futurama, show your support and own this movie.

Bring Back Futurama

This is to the people out there who cancelled Futurama (just in case they may be reading this). Bring back Futurama. It was an amazingly smart, hilarious and interesting show. This movie was sort of the culmination of that and the fact that there have been more Futurama movies made after this should clue you that other people think this show was great too. Do it. Come on. You know you want to.

The first Futurama film released (Bender's Big Score) really brings back Futurama in a successful manner. It also includes all kinds of special features that are enjoyable including a full episode of Everybody Loves Hypnotoad. If you were ever a fan of Futurama or just wonder what it's about this movie is a must buy.

Glad the crew came back with a movie featuring the original cast. Still has all the great Futurama humor (although it's sometimes not as good as the actual series) and the animation is still at its best. The movie is just a bit, but other than that it's a good laugh generator especially if you're a Futurama fan.

As a Futurama fan, I enjoyeed this movie quite a bit but it just kinda felt like an hour and a half-long episode of Futurama. It still has a few laughs in it so if you're a Futurama fan i recommend you buy it. If you sort of like Futurama, i recommend that you rent it or borrow it of a friend or somethin.

Great overall Storyline

THis was a Great MOVIE, it wasn't as funny as some of the single episodes of futurama. The first 30minutes were extremely funny similiar to the shows, but then it got more into the story. This definetly had a better storyline than the family guy movie or the simpsons movie, both of which I also liked. If you are a futurama fan this is a most have!

This movie is excellent. Futurama is back and arguably as good as ever. All of your favorite characters are back and it really doesn't feel like anything is missing.
There are tons of hilarious jokes, and that's what it's all about, so there isn't a whole lot more to say.
If you're a fan of Futurama, you won't be disappointed.
