I bought this for streaming games from my gaming VM. 1080p 60hz streaming works amazing on my 5GHz WiFi. 10/10 would recommend for streaming games. Doubles as an android tablet.

Hey, That's fantastic to hear! The G CLOUD exceeding expectations for streaming games from your VM is awesome. We designed it for cloud gaming versatility, and it sounds like it delivers at 1080p 60hz on 5GHz WiFi. The bonus of it doubling as an Android tablet is a great point too. Thanks for the 10/10 recommendation!

When Logitech launched this thing, a lot of people scoffed at them and mocked the device. There were all kinds of complaints that it was underpowered, couldn’t play triple A titles, and it was overpriced. Let me tell you, I’ve had the G Cloud, the Ally Z1 Extreme that launched around the same time as this, and I have even tried the backbone with my iPhone 15 pro max. Yeah there are some awkward things about this and untethered performance has its drawbacks, but is it really worse than the competition? Cons * poorly optimized WiFi by default (turn off throttling) * Speakers on the bottom of the device (easy to block) * firmware updates take days to to finally show up * Several of the apps do not work until firmware updates * Some apps had to be searched to find updates * Lack of cellular is a missed opportunity * Only 60 Hz screen with no VRR * Too many buttons on the face of the device Pros * When update the Device is nearly perfect * Remote play means no compromise on visuals * Insanely long battery life * Good quality screen * 16x10 Aspect Ratio * Xbox, PC, PS, and Emulation from one device * Very lightweight * Excellent build quality * Storage expandable with SD card * Comfortable grip * Highly Undervalued Device So, let’s stop pretending most Z1 Extreme devices are truly a portable gaming system, as the battery life is severely limited in them. Also, they lack cellular radios as well. If you remove the main reason for owning most of the Z1 models, due to their own limitations, the G Cloud becomes a much more attractive system to own. I can sit out back by the pool, in the living room with the wife, in my office, in the restroom (yeah you know you would too) and experience excellent FPS (for a mobile device) without sacrificing visual effects. The best part is that I can game for about 10 hours, from anywhere in my house, before needing to recharge the battery. With my Ally Z1E, many of these games would be an hour or less, with compromised visual effects. If your use case is to have simple games and emulation when you’re away from home, and to untether yourself from a computer desk or somewhere else within your house, then this device makes far more sense than any of the other handhelds on the market. Overall, this is a fantastic gaming device for what it is and in my opinion the price is in line for where I would want it to be, If Logitech moves a few buttons around and maybe puts the speakers on the front, plus they add cellular, they will dominate this market. One final note, I sold my OG Z1E and purchased an Ally X, but in the end I returned the Ally X, in favor of the Logitech GCloud, because I would rather remote game than wait for my device to charge. Buy this while you still can.

    Shame On Best Buy

This is not a review of the Logitech G cloud but a review of best buy customer service. I purchased a Gcloud and ultimately decided it wasn't for me and attempted to return it. Best Buy denied my return because the serial number on the box did not match the Serial Number of the device. It was off by 1 digit. This didn't make sense to me as it was purchased new in box and i even paid extra for home delivery. I reached out to Logitech support and they confirmed the serial numbers are not supposed to match. The box serial number will always end in a 9 and the unit serial number will always end with an 8, but all the other numbers will match. Shame on best buy for treating paying customers as criminals and not training staff properly on the products they sell.

Hey! We understand your frustration with the return experience at Best Buy for your Logitech G CLOUD. We apologize for any inconvenience this caused. It's important for retailers to have accurate return policies, and it appears there might have been a misunderstanding with the serial number format. We appreciate you bringing this to our attention.

    Wonderful Device! Slightly Overpriced

    Posted .

Feel free to jump to the conclusion at the bottom if you want a quick summary of this review. Feel/Ergonomics: The device is pretty light for its size, especially compared to something like the Steam Deck. I'm a fan of Xbox controllers, and this feels very similar to that. It's comfortable to hold, and I what I've played on it (more on that later). The ergonomics are very good on it. Build Quality: Overall, it gives off an "official" and "proper" kind of feel if that makes sense. It doesn't feel cheap, and I feel like it's going to last for a while if I take moderate care of it. Loving the screen. Wonderful size and higher resolution than something like the Steam Deck (more on that later), and just nice in hands in general. Heck, it's even good for the occasional video/movie. I caught myself watching some TV with it in bed recently. Battery seems to last a fair amount of time based on my limited experience. I tend to turn it off when I'm done with it, and it seems to last at least a week while doing some light gaming every now and then. Playing Games, Emulation: I did use it for some game streaming, but I find myself using it to playing retro games. It took a little time with the set up and help from Youtube, but I am having a blast using it to play through some GBA and PSP games, among many others. It has a lot of power on that front, so it's really fun to use for that. It gives the device more usability for when you are offline, and that's a huge benifit for me. Game Streaming: Game streaming for me is an added bonus on top the above, and it's REALLY good for that purpose. On my Wi-Fi, there is not much noticeable latency connecting to my local PC. After I get used to it, it feels like it's running natively on the G-Cloud. I don't game stream much now, but if would be really good for that if you see yourself taking advantage of that, and I will use it if I get hooked on a new game. Here's an example of how I've used it. My PC is in my room next to my bed. There have been multiple times where I will just lay in bed with the G-Cloud playing something off my computer 5 ft away. It's comfortable and nice to use. I definitely would be doing the same on an XBox or a PlayStation if I was more invested in those ecosystems. Pricing: This seems to be the thing that comes up in every review or discussion about this device. Through discounts and sales, I was lucky enough to get this at $250, which is why I'm so high on this device. That said, knowing what I do now, I would have been happy to do $300, maybe even $325 on this device. Maybe I would have gritted my teeth a bit more if I spend the MSRP of $350, but I am enjoying it. As I discuss later, I find myself picking this up a lot through the week that my Steam Deck, and using it frequently enough to justify what I spent on it. Comparison to the Steam Deck: Also another thing that comes up with every discussion on this device is the Steam Deck. I am a person with more money than sense at times and do own both devices, so I can comment on this. I love both devices for different reasons. If I were to traveling a lot, and wanted a way to play some PC games in a hotel room, downtime while on vacation or visiting family, or maybe even something for older kids to play with some controllers in the car, hands down Steam Deck all the way. BUT... as much as I like to think I'm that super exciting person, traveling around the world, I'm not. I'm usually at home with my Wi-Fi everyday, and don't travel for long periods of time that frequently. I enjoy my downtime after a day at work and taking care of my kiddo. If I wanted to chill on the couch and play something with a nice screen, or I want to lay in bed and play something for a bit before going to sleep, I'm picking up the G Cloud for sure. It's lighter and more convenient to use, and I don't have to be worried about running out of battery if I want to play something that requires a lot of power. I wouldn't want to take it with me to the beach or the park, or while waiting in line at the DMV, but I don't need to, and it's not like I'm doing those kind of tasks all the time anyways. I have other ways to entertain myself with in those scenarios. The G-Cloud does what I need it to, and as long as I don't try to force it act like another device, I'm very satisfied with what it offers. Conclusion: I am very much enjoying this device during the time that I've had it. It's a little bit of a niche use case, but fits that niche SUPER WELL. The build of the device feels high quality. It's comfortable to hold, and things like the screen and the battery life just add to the positive qualities of this device. While the price can be a bit high compared to some other devices on the market, it can justify it's price if it fits your use case. It can be used to retro games pretty well which can make more useful offline, and it's a great option for game steaming. If you have the right expectations going into it, then it can be a wonderful device for you to take advantage of!

Wish I never bought it. I thought it'd be ideal for around the house gaming, as it can only tether off of other connected devices so it's not like a steam deck or nintendo switch and doesn't cost a small mortgage. But that's literally all it is. A tether to do what you were already doing just laying down , maybe lol the UI is crap and hard to play with steam games. Don't buy this. Theres better things coming out or have come out.

First thing is the price. Yes its over price and use older chipset. But... Having the Steam Deck, Nintendo OLED and Older Model and couple retro handheld device. I was suprise to see that they had this in stock and decided to give it a try. The hardware is solid. No fan noise, no plastic noise, screen is bright and clean, buttons and stick is solid(just need to break them in)stick can be touchy when playing games but just have to to move it little and will work out. The battery oh my goodness this thing last. Yes its a cloud device. But if you set it up well, you can play on the road without wifi. Its light weight, and great to hold in your hand. Break down: Solid device, I set it up for cloud gaming, retro gaming(WOW this thing handle),home controling setup for lights, alarms, cameras, music, bluetooth devices. For the price yes its high, I miss the sell price on it and was thinking of returning it since I have a Steam Deck and Nintendo OLED. But after I did all the updates and installed a fast 512MicroSD and installed the apps and emulators. I was very impress what it can do and how solid it felt in my hand. I grab this more then my other device and you can add a usb c hub and add camera and keyboard mouse to use for zoom or MS Meet. But I got this for cloud gaming for XBOX and playing retro games that I have in the pass from Atari, C64, Amiga and more. and to control my home smart system. There is more it can do and I will test it all. So far I was surprise what this device can do and how long it last on battery and thats watching netflix, youtube, play games and listen to music and it just last. As of this review. our best buy sold out in the store and Im glad I took a chance. Now Logitech please do more updates on the device like rotations and better tablet intergration. SOLID DEVICE that does a lot more then you thing. And I just got this thing and its already my go to device. I can see more use for this device besides cloud. Great job Logitech. Just keep this thing up to date to imroved it more. Check out my video review soon. Not like what you see already on youtube

The G Cloud is definitely underpowered compared to what you can get in a modern handheld in similar price ranges (AYN, RP4, etc..) but it's definitely worth the price when you factor in the build quality, and ease of use. This can natively emulate up to PSP comfortably using Retroarch and standalone emulators. Further than that, individual games are hit or miss. Streaming through Moonlight (PC), Local Xbox, and Xbox Cloud have all been solid with minimal dips in connection. I've played for hours at a time with minimal input lag and great quality (1080@60), and it almost doesn't feel like it's streaming at all. It stays VERY cool, and the battery lasts a LONG time. I put it into sleep rather than turn it off, and the battery will last me ~3 days with maybe 3-4 hours a day of actual use, mostly Moonlight streaming.

Have had this product for about 2 years now and it has not disappointed. Mainly use it for Xbox and PlayStation for when the kids are hogging up the tv. Have not had any major issues, maybe some lag here and there but I’ll put the blame on my internet for that. Lightweight, comfortable in the hands with a pretty decent battery life. If you’re lounging on the couch and have an itch to game but unable to use the big screen, this is a perfect alternative.

I’m a 40 year old dad with three kids under four. I own a gaming laptop, Switch, and PS5. Gaming time is limited and sequestering in my office is not a desirable option. While the Switch is great, it doesn’t have the AAA game capacity of other systems. Enter the Logitech Cloud. This device is PERFECT for my situation as I can stream my PC through Moonlight, PS5 through PSPlay (a 3rd party android app as the official Sony one doesn’t work as well), and then Game Pass through XCloud. AND I can do this all at 1080p (with the exception of XCloud which caps at 720p). It’s like this device was designed specifically for my situation with small kids. As for the hardware itself, it’s fantastic. The joysticks feel great, the screen is large and vibrant, and the system is light with it conforming nicely to the hands. The ergonomics are stellar. Since you’re streaming game content the battery lasts so long compared to other gaming handhelds. The d-pad, however, is just ok. It gets the job done, but there are better ones out there. The downside: this thing is expensive. $50 more gets you a Steam Deck. It is severely overpriced, but it does what I need it to do perfectly. If you have the funds and are in the same situation as me with kiddos, however, it’s worth it.

I bought this for my son who plays Fortnite, after checking out several handheld systems—and this one is the only one that could really keep up. It handles fast-paced gameplay smoothly (Fortnite, yes, but even Call of Duty in cloud mode) without the lag or stutter we saw in the others. Here’s what we love: • Performance & Responsiveness: Everything from aiming to movement to load times feels tight. No frustrating delays. • Battery Life: It holds up well for longer sessions. I haven’t timed every session, but it’s plenty enough that he doesn’t complain about running out during his gaming. • Controller Feel & Build Quality: By far the best hands-on feel of the controllers he’s tried. Comfortable grips, responsive buttons, and the layout just feels solid. • Cloud Gaming Experience: Thanks to the integration with Xbox Cloud Gaming (and other streaming services), he’s able to play when he wants—even games that demand more hardware—without needing the most powerful console. If your kid is into Fortnite, or games that require quick reactions and precision, this G CLOUD handheld is a standout. It’s not perfect (expect that you’ll need a strong WiFi connection, for example), but for what it does, it does it very well.

Works great. Has long battery life and good video quality. My only negatives are that the controller hurts my hand after 2-3 hours bjt that may be how i hold it. I think a silicone case may be worth the investment for that reason. The other negative is the xbox game pass. In my case i do not have an xbox so its not letting me stream xbox game pass games. But steam link works great and the andrioid game work great. I assume emulation will work great as well, but i haven't tried. But for slower games like statdew valley and even balders gate 3 work great. I haven't tried anything that requires high precision. Overall in conclusion great device tad pricey but no regrets on my purchase.

I bought this for a very specific use case, and for it I am more than happy with my purchase. I have a fairly high end gaming PC that is my main choice for playing video games. But for those times when I want to play my PC games handheld on the couch and relax, this is the perfect solution. I use the moonlight app on the G Cloud to stream via Sunlight from my PC, and it is near flawless. Just set those up and run steam big picture mode and enjoy near zero latency gaming on a device with an HD screen and amazing battery life. Would recommend to anyone wanting to bring their PC to the couch.

Honestly, these things are profoundly underrated. When compared to other handhelds like the Ally, Legion Go, SD, or Ony, it's just a totally different animal. Dedicated streaming platforms are a new breed, and IMO, they are going to be the way of the near future. Local play and rendering on ANY console is getting progressively more and more unnecessary. The power required, (in comparison to streaming), is heavy and limiting. I have a dedicated Gaming PC with thousands of dollars invested into cooling and power. I can literally see the power draw on my electricity bill. Even if I had a handheld capable of the same power, id still go for the GCloud. It's light, powerful, and long lasting. The battery mileage may very, but Ive seen upwards of 8-12 hours of play without need for charge. On a 7 inch screen, the differences between 1080p and 4-8k are surprisingly less obvious than one would expect. The same can be said for refresh rates I.E FPS. I can see this thing serving well as a travel Console or wvwn just something to keep and play around the house. If you buy it, dont expect it to replace an ally or a SD, because it isn't meant to. Compared to a Kishin or a backbone, this device is king.

So many people saying "who is this marketed for" "lacks power..." remember its a cloud console. I have almost all of the consoles in my posession, and saw this and decided to try it out. First off the battery on this is very impressive. This thing lasts for hours upon hours, with some games, it lasts for a day plus with moderate use. I have the google game pass and downloaded lots of games with the expandable sd card slot. Some games are on average graphic intensive and it has no problem running games on high or very high graphics. The weight of the unit is light and I prefer this over the weight (the weight, just the weight) of the steam deck if im going to be playing for a while. You dont get tired as much when your playing. I use it now for my xbox game pass going forward due to how light it is. The handles and ergonomics of the device is very well done, very comfortable. The speakers are very loud, with no distorted sounds coming from them at higher volumes. Controls are very well places, and again its very comfortable to use. It doesnt grt hot like other small consoles, and does not have a vent opening so the unit can cool down. It does run on android, and often android devices dont get supported well and leave them to rot....so keep that in mind, unless logitec will keep supporting this in the future, who knows. But i went along for the ride and i love it. Lets see how long ill have this in my possession.

I love mine. I primarily use ot for emulation and android games. It is so comfortable, light, and the battery life and screen are excellent. I got mine for $300+ a bit for the warranty. I know the Oden is about the same price, but the screen and warranty were more important to me. If Logitech makes a sequel with a better chip and FAT32 support, I'd snap it up too, but until then I'm good.

I had no hopes of this filling any void that my broken Steam deck left behind and was fully expecting I would return it... I'm very pleasantly surprised. Sure, it's using a mobile SoC (snapdragon something or other) running android and both those make me cringe a little considering the ridiculous price of this thing......seriously, Logitech, get over yourself. This is not worth $300... It's just not. Club down off your high-horse and set the price at a permanent $199. Agronomics are nice, it's lighter than the steam deck. The sticks feel nice and the screen is VERY nice for the specsheet. While only 1080p and 60hz, the contrast is great and max brightness is very good! Buttons feel good, etc. the sticks seem to have a real dumb default curve which luckily is now customizable and allows to "fix" allowing for full 360° circles, vs the default which, for some reason, prefers a Dpad, compass direct curve, ignoring angles. Like I said, can easily be adjusted now. Streaming works great, the gyro works using Moonlight+Sunshine which is how everyone should be streaming games. Sharp haptics that feel decent, down firing speakers that get loud for a handheld. Only 32gb of internal and the OS takes up 20gb, ...tell me again why this is still $300?? I just wish they didn't price themselves out of real competition. I ONLY recommend if you can get it on a discount.

I would recommend this to a friend
