Awesome little piece of Nintendo Nostalgia
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I remember having a few of these as a kid and can vividly remember playing with them in a simpler time before all the modern technological conveniences. This is pretty faithful to the original Game and Watch units that came out in the 80’s, but it does lack the little kickstand that the original ones had. That and this charges via USB-C instead of the classic button cell batteries of the original. Other than that, it’s pretty neat to be able to play a couple of classic Mario games, but still have it function as a watch (hence the name “Game and Watch). It’s a pretty awesome little piece of gaming history as this design is what later evolved into the standard gaming controller layout that we use to this day.

Love the game and watch
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Love it! Game plays great and the clock is cute. The only thing that would make it better is if it had a stand or kickstand as part of the case. It reminds me of the original game and watch games.

Nostalgic
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First, kudos to Best Buy for awesome process on ordering hot item like this online. Shipping was fast too. Decided to order this because I wanted to give it to my son as cheaper option to play video game instead of letting him use our Nintendo switch plus nostalgic feel for me and husband. Nice and cute packaging, light and awesome portability could fit in your pocket plus it is rechargeable via USB-C port not like in the old school button batteries. Unfortunately we returned this to the store since we barely use it so waste of money for us especially during pandemic and screen was tiny (which is expected due to its size and portability). So if you got used to playing on bigger screen like on our phones or Nintendo switch or TV like us I won’t recommend it. It is an upgraded version of the old school but downgrade version of the current video game consoles in the market. Felt like it won’t last long if you play with it everyday.

This game and Watch is still fun but with flaws.
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a nice collectible piece of fun. This unit has both the original Mario Brothers and Mario Brothers 2. Though this unit as a whole is a fun collectible, I also have to point out the gameplay deficiencies. The sound doesn't sound like the original NES game though it doesn't lag like the NES classic. Another thing is that there is graphic errors that show up on this unit that did not show up on the original NES game or the NES classic. I would say the emulation on this unit is actually a bit worse than the NES classic, though I'm pretty sure people are buying this for more of a collectible factor than actual function. The controls are actually fairly decent and functional as I got to world 8-2 on this unit which is pretty good considering how tiny this unit and its controls are. The screen is pretty decent and doesn't look blurry like some other emulation machines. For most people it would be an average rating, but for those that grew up with Nintendo I would say it's good. The range is more around 2-4 depending on how partial you are to Nintendo, your nitpickiness for proper emulation and sound, and how something controls.

Beautiful and fun!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. For such a tiny screen, it’s very playable and the features such as infinite lives and level select make it an ideal little pick up and play device. Great build quality and the design is perfect.

More than a novelty.
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I thought this was going to be more of a novelty toy and collector item, but I can't stop playing it. The controls are great and there is no lag that I can tell. The sprites look very sharp on the small screen. Colors are more vibrant than the NES classic version, which may not be accurate but looks pleasing on the small screen. The only thing I wish for would be an alarm function for the clock. The clock is a novelty but it does come in handy to see how much I stayed up past my bedtime. Probably not worth the money for everyone, but I think it's really neat and I've gotten more playtime out of trying to beat world 8 than many other full priced games I've bought.

50 bucks!? Rip off? Maybe. Whatever take my money.
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Cool little thing. Worth 50 bucks, no. Will that stop you from purchasing and playing Mario Bros 1-2 probably not. Thing is tiny hits all the nostalgia. Also homebrews are coming out. So yeah.

Memory lane, great gaming device
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love how nintendo always design their package. This is a great handheld games to add to your nintendo collectibles. Color are vibrant and the time is awesome. The 3 games are awesome. But for the price I would say wait for a sale. But by then it would have sold out as i heard there weren't many to be sold and will run out sooner or later. At 50 bucks, it is close to the price of a classic snes and nes back when they were release. Battery life is good. Volume is controll on the screen rather than a physical volume rocker or button. It is charge with usb type c but no adapter. Sound is great not too low and not too loud. Overall it is a great gift for stockings this Christmas.

SMB in a small handheld
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It's old school. May not be for everyone. It's an updated replica, with 4 different games. A bit overpriced for what you get, but that can be said for any type of collectible.

Great buy
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Buttons feel like the old game and watch, wish they were more like the NES controller but other than that it is amazing. Bright screen and full games.

Novel Toy for Old People
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Even though I was born in the early 90s, I still remember shopping in thrift stores as a kid and finding old Game & Watches for dollars. I never imagined I'd be paying $50 for one nearly 20 years later. This thing exists purely for nostalgic reasons, nothing more. Nobody is going to seriously use this in place of a phone or watch, nor do I think it will be anyone's preferred way to play the beloved Super Mario Bros. game, yet, despite all this, the novelty alone is enough to sell me on it. The quality of the device itself is impeccable as most Nintendo hardware tends to be and the packaging is beautiful.

For collectors and hackers
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Face value, it's exactly what it says it is - OG Mario. But to answer the real question - yes, it is hackable. However, the USB port is for charging only, so if you're going to get on the homebrew side of things, you have to open it and connect straight to the board. Not easy, but there are already guides out there on everything. If you take it that route it is an extremely light, small, NES emulator. Of course, if that's all you're looking for, $50 is a bit steep. Same if you just want to play SMB on the go. For this price, it's only worth it if you're a collector, or going to make a project of it.

Excellent device if you want to play Mario
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Love it, super charming and really fun to play Mario on. It's really cool to see these kinds of throwbacks, and it's refreshing to play on a device that does very few things. There's so much that can distract you on a modern PC or console, this is like having your first gameboy and only having a small handful of games to play. No internet, no updates, no settings, it's great. The tiny updates to the games (like being able to jump back to the last world you were on & start with unlimited lives) are really great, and it's pretty fun to be able to take it out at any time and instantly be playing mario.
