Customers highly value the Dash Cam™ 45 Full HD's excellent video quality and ease of use, frequently praising its compact size and helpful features like lane departure warnings and GPS. However, some users reported issues with the mount, battery life, and the device's susceptibility to overheating. While the price is often cited as a positive, concerns about the included memory card and long-term reliability were also noted.

Good quality images during daylight hours a little limited in nighttime recording. Would be better with wider angle recording.

My second Garmin dash cam 45 the first one is in my wife's car and we liked it so much so I put one in my truck. The lane change and the alert when coming up behind another is great. It is good to look at roads traveled while on vacation. Good camera.

This camera has excellent video capture. You must download the VIRB app and link the camera to your phone via WiFi (the camera itself has the WiFi, you don’t need an external WiFi source)
There is plenty of cord to run it up and around the windshield.
The only thing that may get annoying is the lane departure warning when you’re in heavy traffic. Other than that this is a fantastic camera and easy to use. Defdinatly recommend the 64gb Card.

Works great. It's so small that I haven't even noticed it on my window from the outside. I love the warning you get when you cross the solid line on the highway, as well as the warning you get when you're driving too close to a vehicle. I was at a red light last week and I was tuning my radio. The light turned green and traffic started to flow. I didn't realize it until the garmin dash cam sent a message with a beep telling me that traffic was flowing. That was unexpected. Love this garmin 45 dash cam. 2 thumbs up.

Gps features are a plus. Don't expect to be able to actually read them real time however. Passenger could however.

I purchased this last month thinking they have extra features like red light alerts and speed camera alerts. Later I found that all those feathers are compatibility only. To use them, you need to have paid subscription. Otherwise as product this is good. Easy to operate and good. Clarity.

This dash cam has surpassed my expectations. It alerts me if there’s vehicles near me when driving & changing lanes. It automatically starts to record when my vehicle is involved in an accident. Loved that it’s super small & hardly takes up any room on my windshield. Also can’t forget to mention the free cable it came with that allows for a special feature of recording while my car is parked, so no more people hitting my car while parked & taking off. Now it will record the car & get the license plate clear with the HD video.

The video output on this dash cam is really nice and super easy to access through the app. My only complaint would have to be a Garmin-specific vehicle power cable is needed to properly charge the camera. My car only has two power ports, with the front port being reserved for USB charging adapters, so this greatly restricts my options for wiring this up in my car.

I've been using this dashcam for awhile now. Its been working flawlessly. All the features work good. Video quality is very good. Sound recording is soft in playback. Picks up music good but voices talking normally is not great but can hear. Gets very hot but never overheats and stops working. Video transfer to PC is easy and works good. I purchased many cheap dashcams before this one and after owning this Garmin I'll always stick with these garmin products for dashcams.

I bought 2 of these Garmin dash cams, one for myself and one for my fiance for Valentine's Day! I love all of the features that they have and that they can be customized to fit both of our needs. I have mine set with lane departure, front end collision, and speed/red light camera warnings. I also have it set so that it does not record audio. My fiance has his set to record audio and how his current mile-per-hour whenever a video is saved. It's easy to save videos and photos, and the app is easy to naviagate!! I definitely recommend.

Good camera. Quality is amazing. Just wish it would record for long periods of time. The time lapse is a joke. And takes forever to sync and download.

Excellent All-Around Dash Cam

I just purchased this dash cam after several hours of research to replace my current camera of another brand, which I was very unhappy with. I live in New York City and park in a parking garage, so don’t use my car every day. I found that the battery in my old camera kept losing its charge, which reset the time and date back to factory settings, requiring me to always need to set the proper date/time. The most important criteria for me was to find a camera that would retain the accurate date/time, in addition to allowing me to disable the speed reporting stamp on the video, as I can’t see how that would do anything but work against me in a legal defense. This camera allows that, while at the same time being able to retain the GPS location stamp. Plus, the calendar and clock use GPS to keep the time current, so I don’t need to worry about the battery losing charge. Perfect!! This camera works great, and is much smaller than I thought it would be. Another plus! It doesn’t have as much of a wide angle view as others, so if you’re looking for that, I recommend the Garmin 65W. The camera adheres to the windshield using a separate metal disk, about the size of a penny, that has an adhesive back, and the camera arm connects to that via a magnet. Very easy to take the camera off and move to other cars, without having to worry about using an annoying suction cup that always fails. Be sure to double check the position of the camera through its screen before you mount the metal disk, because it’s practically impossible to pull it off once it’s on the windshield. I’m MUCH happier with this camera. Highly recommend!!

It was easy to install, just wait the 24 hours before you attach the camera. Have not had a crash so I don't know if that works. Have taken several still shots and they look fine. The lane keeping alert takes a while to get used to. If it sounds too frequently, check to see if it is the stoplight camera warning.
