Installed Two of These Cameras (Front & Back)

I purchased two of these cameras to install in my new car because they're small, easy to install and easy to use. I installed one on the windshield behind the rear view mirror. It's barely visible. I installed one in the back window to capture cars behind me. So far, so good.

A good setup and forget system that comes on with the car and does not need anything done to make it run. Soon after purchase had to do a hard stop and after hearing a tone from the device checked and it had locked the footage just like it is designed to do with a accident. Well worth it

I have a mostly manageable addiction to dash cams and believe that Garmin has figured out the recipe for best quality combined with reasonable price. The form factor is the least invasive on my windshield and I have had nearly ZERO issues with the app on iOS.

Very small and seems to work perfectly. Have not had a chance to capture an incident, the video looks nice. Just using in case something ever happens, but I don't see the need for a screen, voice works perfect.

Can't see cars license plates

The camera is very small and it fits perfectly behind the mirror. However, it did not sync properly with an app so can't really view videos on the phone. If I want to view any video I need to do it from the computer. The quality of the video is pretty good, however when driving you cannot see front cars license plates. So not sure what's the point of having this camera. You can see the plate numbers when cars are not moving like when you stopped on a red light. So in a case of an accidents when cars are either speeding or cutting you off, you most likely won't see their numbers.

Hello! The Dash Cam Mini 2 does have the ability to view both "Live View" and gallery videos when properly paired with the Drive App on your smartphone. I completely understand your concern with license plates. In some cases you may not be able to make plate numbers out. However, the dash cam is certainly going to help support your account of an encounter and point to fault regardless of license plate visibility. Should you like assistance with resolving your disruption please start by visiting our 24/7 support center page here support.garmin.com.

Very small and discreet to have in the car and easy to use. You can now turn off the annoying beep sound in the settings. Note, to install you have to do it in the car plugged in to the power, I tried in my house and couldnt get it to work and thought it was broken (maybe that was just me though).
Overall for something that will provide a level of safety and security it is well worth the purchase.

Bought this after a accident where the police claimed they knew was other persons fault but because i didn't have a camera there wasn't much they could do. i now EASLY move this camera between all 3 of my cars and my work vehicle, Pairs easy right to my phone. Footage is there the second i need it!! HIGHLY RECOMMEND

Works great for my needs. The voice recognition works great with my voice as well.
Simple to hook up and simple to operate.
Video quality isn't bad for a lil camera.
Can it read a license plate seems to be one of the most concern for a lot of folks. WELL, I'm not sure how well it shows a license plate and it's #'s. I've not tried to lool and see if it does. This is not why i bought this camera. I bought it more for the oncoming vehicles on the back roads where i live where ppl can't seem to drive except in the middle of the road since there aren't any center lines for them to look at. So, if i get forced into a ditch I'll have proof for my insurance claim.
