Had no problems with it. Got us right to where we were going. Screen is nice & clear during the daytime & nighttime.

While the old one gave me accurate route most of the time, the new Garmin likes to give me winding route. One funny thing that is really new is that whenever I drive inside my apartment complex toward my apartment building, it will say: " You are driving on the wrong direction of the road". I haven't used it in Canada, so I don't know whether it's going to work or not. Will add about this if it is not working

What it doesn't tell you is that a separate cord, which is not included, is required in order for the traffic updates to work. This is the reason for my rating. The cost of this cord is about $80. Other than this issue the unit seems to be good quality though I haven't had a chance to use it.

Posted .Sorry for the confusion. Out of the box, yes, the Garmin Smartphone link using your smartphone’s data connection is required to receive traffic. If you don’t have a smartphone, a Garmin GTM 36™ or GTM 60™ will be needed to access the traffic feature.

What little I have been able to work with it I really don't think it measures up to my previous GPS which got thrown out with the trash accidentally. Therefore I will only give it a moderate rating.

Best Buy said this unit number has lifetime traffic updates, but did not provide the cable. Garmin says model 51-LMT can get traffic via your phone's data plan, and traffic is built into the newer model "52 and traffic" but not the simple model 52.

Posted .Apologies for the confusion. The Garmin Drive™ 51 LM does not provide traffic out of the box. The GTM 36 cable is needed to get traffic on this mode. The Garmin Drive™ 51 LMT-S does provide traffic using your compatible smartphone and the free Smartphone Link app.
The battery dies quickly.

It won't start when plugged in the car. You have to drive and charge it for about 30 minutes and then it can start. Very annoying. I was happy with my last Garmin and its battery life, but not this one!
