And, I couldn't increase the brightness enough. After checking other reviews, I found this was also a common complaint. I returned this to Best Buy

Entered same address in the new Garmin and it took us on a totally new route but we decided to try it. It took us TWICE THE time to get there and we had no clue where we were at. We loved all of our older Garmins however not the newer and more expensive one - it sits in a drawer!

Don't Leave Home Without a GPS

While not without an occasional problem, they have saved me from getting lost dozens of times. The pros are that Garmin provides free map updates and free firmware updates for the life of the product. Updates are easy with their app that can be downloaded from their web page (if you have a PC or Mac). Even my 10-year old Garmin GPS still gets free updates. The display is easy to read even in bright sunlight. It's features can be customized (somewhat). My singular complaint about Garmin GPS devices is that when I'm heading down an interstate and I ask it to list gas stations or restaurants, there isn't any way to exclude the ones behind me and have it only list the ones near my planned route ahead of me. (Are there really drivers who will turn around and drive back to a fast food place they passed 20 minutes earlier when on a trip?)
