This GPS has every feature I need for driving either at home or in places I've never been to before. The automatic Bluetooth linking is great for making calls while driving, and the GPS is easy to see and follow.

The Garmin is an excellent GPS. The voice command feature allows you to change destination while you're on the move. The only caveat is that, when you're in very rural areas, like central West Virginia, it will try to take you on what are only nominally roads. But, so long as you stay on the paved roads, it'll get you you're going.

My old Garmin was over 10 years old and I could no longer rely on its accuracy so I purchased a replacement. My new Garmin is great! Love that it shows the speed limit, lets me know if I’m over that speed limit, directions are accurate and it’s easy to use.

Very impressed with the touch screen and the increased speed at which it calculates your route. If you invest in a traffic cable it will give you access to the traffic or delays on your select route. It is compatible with the back up camera but you will have to use a different power supply which defeats traffic unless you pair with your phone.

Voice command doesn’t always “get” what I’m saying but everything else works great.

The replacement GPS stopped working after using it two weeks. I replaced that one, the new one is great. New features, love it.

I am very pleased with the Garmin graphics and directions. It is intuiive and easy to set up and use. I did opt for a gravity base rather than using the windshield mount. I would recommend this to anyone who does not have a dealer provided navigation system.

Big Screen with accurate driving directions. Purchased this instead of using my iPhone's Maps. Love the look and size knowing you are safe when driving. I use this when I go on long trips and especially when going to a new city that I am not familiar with.

I needed to replace my TomTom which I was happy with but after reading many reviews from many sources decided to go with this product. I am very happy with it. The only draw back seems that the battery for some reason seems to discharge while not in use

I was looking for a small, nice looking, compact, effective and powerful GPS and I am very happy to says that I got it all in the Garmin GPS Garmin - DriveSmart 51 LMT-S 5" GPS with Built-In Bluetooth, Lifetime Map and Traffic Updates. I love it and I love the color. It is simply beautiful and highly effective.

Pros: Voice command with microphone line to let you know you are speaking loud enough. Touch screen better than in the past. Mount is improved over past. Cons: Glare on glossy screen. Wifi works for updating only if you have wifi access.

This is my first GPS, having always previously relied on Google Maps. We were taking a long road trip, and I thought a dedicated device would be a good idea - saving the phone for finding hotel deals etc. The good: Voice recognition- most of the time; next turn info; ETA info; intersection detail; items at exits e.g. gas stations, hotels, ATMs etc; speed and speed limit; lane to be in instructions; bluetooth phone connection for calls. The not as good: Turn notification at times nearly too late; verbal instructions sometimes not sufficiently detailed; real time traffic alerts require using your phone and connecting via bluetooth - why bother might as well just use phone and WAZE; screen size - I should have spent the extra $50 and purchased the 7 inch one; tried repeatedly to update the maps and software directly using WiFi but never successful.

The basic functions of the GPS are fine. The things that were supposed to make it smart need some help. I had to turn off voice command because every time I started the truck it would go into the voice command mode as if I had uttered voice command. Bluetooth connecting to both Sync and the GPS was problematic, even with the phone option turned off on the gps. So, no live traffic updates via phone data. WiFi updates, nope takes to long. Quicker to plug into usb. It does have a nice touchscreen and is faster than my old GPS. Default brightness settings were to dark at night, that is adjustable. Basically not a bad unit but, not very smart. If the Drive model had the same touchscreen I would have returned this. I kept it because I like capacitive LCD on this Drivesmart model.

Seems to operate a lot more smoothly than GPS units I owned in the past.

Very busy screen. Hard to read quickly. Product OK. Battery not retaining charge. . Directions somewhat confusing.

I recently purchased this GPS instead of using my cellphone maps. Although it seems to always take me the long way even though I have the settings programmed to fastest route, the overall quality is good. The speed limit alerts are also good.

bought this for our son who wanted to have flexibility with phone while also having a gps active. nice screen, map updates are a big plus (if you don't get them, they are expensive). works well, but did not try the traffic option which we understand does require some type phone interface.

I bought this GPS as a gift for my daughter, it has all the bells and whistles you need, she really likes it.

Our old one was working poorly even with updates. Hopefully this new one will get us to where we want to go.
