Garmin - DriveSmart LMT-S 5"

Not as simple as my old TomTom. Using the brightest screen setting while unplugged, drained the battery in a matter of a few minutes. In bright light, a dim setting was a bit hard to see. So if you need to do a lot of tweaking, make sure it is plugged in. Otherwise, I thought the unit worked great.

Got this on sale and works as I expected. Voice recognition is a bit sketchy. The lifetime traffic requires a different cable and only works in larger cities. Not sure how well it works but really not why I bought it.

DriveSmart 51 works

But was looking for an upgrade for an upcoming European trip. After much review settled on the DS 51. I have only used in the US so far, but like the feel and intuitive nature of the product. And the destination locations have been spot on. The software update is long (do it overnight). I also purchased the European maps and loaded using the micro SD card. Looking forward to using the DS 51 in Italy!
